Acts 11:1Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.And the apostles and brethren, who were in Judea, heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.Now the Apostles and the brothers who were in Judaea had news that the word of God had been given to the Gentiles.
Acts 11:2When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,And when Peter came to Jerusalem, those who kept the rule of circumcision had an argument with him,
Acts 11:3saying, "You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them!"Saying: Why didst thou go in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them?Saying, You went to men without circumcision, and took food with them.
Acts 11:4But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,But Peter began and declared to them the matter in order, saying:But Peter gave them an account of it all in order, saying to them,
Acts 11:5"I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me,I was in the city of Joppe praying, and I saw in an ecstasy of mind a vision, a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners, and it came even unto me.I was in the town of Joppa, at prayer: and falling into a deep sleep, I saw in a vision a vessel like a great cloth let down from heaven, and it came down to me:
Acts 11:6on which, when I had looked intently, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.Into which looking, I considered, and saw fourfooted creatures of the earth, and beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air:And looking on it with attention I saw in it all sorts of beasts and birds.
Acts 11:7I also heard a voice saying to me, 'Rise, Peter, kill and eat!'And I heard also a voice saying to me: Arise, Peter; kill and eat.And a voice came to my ears saying, Come, Peter; take them for food.
Acts 11:8But I said, 'Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.'And I said: Not so, Lord; for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.But I said, No, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever come into my mouth.
Acts 11:9But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, 'What God has cleansed, don't you make unholy.'And the voice answered again from heaven: What God hath made clean, do not thou call common.But the voice, coming a second time from heaven, said, What God has made clean, do not you make common.
Acts 11:10This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.And this was done three times: and all were taken up again into heaven.And this was done three times, and they were all taken up again into heaven.
Acts 11:11Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.And behold, immediately there were three men come to the house wherein I was, sent to me from Caesarea.And at that minute, three men, sent from Caesarea, came to the house where we were.
Acts 11:12The Spirit told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house.And the Spirit said to me, that I should go with them, nothing doubting. And these six brethren went with me also: and we entered into the man's house.And the Spirit gave me orders to go with them, doubting nothing. And these six brothers came with me; and we went into that man's house:
Acts 11:13He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, 'Send to Joppa, and get Simon, whose surname is Peter,And he told us how he had seen an angel in his house, standing, and saying to him: Send to Joppe, and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter,And he gave us an account of how he had seen the angel in his house, saying, Send to Joppa, and get Simon, named Peter, to come to you;
Acts 11:14who will speak to you words whereby you will be saved, you and all your house.'Who shall speak to thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, and all thy house.Who will say words to you through which you and all your family may get salvation.
Acts 11:15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.And when I had begun to speak, the Holy Ghost fell upon them, as upon us also in the beginning.And, while I was talking to them, the Holy Spirit came on them, as on us at first.
Acts 11:16I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.'And I remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said: John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.And the words of the Lord came into my mind, how he said, The baptism of John was with water, but you will have baptism with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 11:17If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?"If then God gave them the same grace, as to us also who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that could withstand God?If then God gave them, when they had faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the same as he gave to us, who was I to go against God?
Acts 11:18When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!"Having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying: God then hath also to the Gentiles given repentance unto life.And hearing these things they said nothing more, but gave glory to God, saying, Then to the Gentiles as to us has God given a change of heart, so that they may have life.
Acts 11:19They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except only to Jews.Now they who had been dispersed by the persecution that arose on occasion of Stephen, went about as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none, but to the Jews only.Then those who had gone away at the time of the trouble about Stephen, went as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus, preaching to the Jews only.
Acts 11:20But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.But some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were entered into Antioch, spoke also to the Greeks, preaching the Lord Jesus.But some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, when they came to Antioch, gave the good news about the Lord Jesus to the Greeks.
Acts 11:21The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believing, were converted to the Lord.And the power of the Lord was with them, and a great number had faith and were turned to the Lord.
Acts 11:22The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent forth Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,And the tidings came to the ears of the church that was at Jerusalem, touching these things: and they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch.And news of them came to the ears of the church at Jerusalem: and they sent Barnabas as far as Antioch:
Acts 11:23who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would remain near to the Lord.Who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, rejoiced: and he exhorted them all with purpose of heart to continue in the Lord.Who, when he came and saw the grace of God, was glad; and he made clear to them the need of keeping near the Lord with all the strength of their hearts:
Acts 11:24For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith. And a great multitude was added to the Lord.For he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith: and a great number were joined to the Lord.
Acts 11:25Barnabas went forth to Tarsus to look for Saul.And Barnabas went to Tarsus to seek Saul: whom, when he had found, he brought to Antioch.Then he went on to Tarsus, looking for Saul;
Acts 11:26When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. It happened, that even for a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.And they conversed there in the church a whole year; and they taught a great multitude, so that at Antioch the disciples were first named Christians.And when he had come across him, he took him to Antioch. And they were with the church there for a year, teaching the people; and the disciples were first given the name of Christians in Antioch.
Acts 11:27Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.And in these days there came prophets from Jerusalem to Antioch:Now in those days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.
Acts 11:28One of them named Agabus stood up, and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.And one of them named Agabus, rising up, signified by the Spirit, that there should be a great famine over the whole world, which came to pass under Claudius.And one of them, named Agabus, said publicly through the Spirit that there would be serious need of food all over the earth: which came about in the time of Claudius.
Acts 11:29The disciples, as anyone had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;And the disciples, every man according to his ability, purposed to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea:And the disciples, everyone as he was able, made a decision to send help to the brothers living in Judaea:
Acts 11:30which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.Which also they did, sending it to the ancients, by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.Which they did, sending it to the rulers of the church by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
