Jude 1:1 | Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: | Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James: to them that are beloved in God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called. | Jude, bondman of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to the called ones beloved in God [the] Father and preserved in Jesus Christ: |
Jude 1:2 | Mercy to you and peace and love be multiplied. | Mercy unto you, and peace, and charity be fulfilled. | Mercy to you, and peace, and love be multiplied. |
Jude 1:3 | Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. | Dearly beloved, taking all care to write unto you concerning your common salvation, I was under a necessity to write unto you: to beseech you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints. | Beloved, using all diligence to write to you of our common salvation, I have been obliged to write to you exhorting [you] to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints. |
Jude 1:4 | For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even they who were of old written of beforehand to this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ. | For certain men are secretly entered in, (who were written of long ago unto this judgment,) ungodly men, turning the grace of our Lord God into riotousness, and denying the only sovereign Ruler, and our Lord Jesus Christ. | For certain men have got in unnoticed, they who of old were marked out beforehand to this sentence, ungodly [persons], turning the grace of our God into dissoluteness, and denying our only Master and Lord Jesus Christ. |
Jude 1:5 | Now I desire to remind you, though you already know this, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who didn't believe. | I will therefore admonish you, though ye once knew all things, that Jesus, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, did afterwards destroy them that believed not: | But I would put you in remembrance, you who once knew all things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of [the] land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed those who had not believed. |
Jude 1:6 | Angels who didn't keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. | And the angels who kept not their principality, but forsook their own habitation, he hath reserved under darkness in everlasting chains, unto the judgment of the great day. | And angels who had not kept their own original state, but had abandoned their own dwelling, he keeps in eternal chains under gloomy darkness, to [the] judgment of [the] great day; |
Jude 1:7 | Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them, having, in the same way as these, given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. | As Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighbouring cities, in like manner, having given themselves to fornication, and going after other flesh, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. | as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities around them, committing greedily fornication, in like manner with them, and going after other flesh, lie there as an example, undergoing the judgment of eternal fire. |
Jude 1:8 | Yet in like manner these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings. | In like manner these men also defile the flesh, and despise dominion, and blaspheme majesty. | Yet in like manner these dreamers also defile [the] flesh, and despise lordship, and speak railingly against dignities. |
Jude 1:9 | But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!" | When Michael the archangel, disputing with the devil, contended about the body of Moses, he durst not bring against him the judgment of railing speech, but said: The Lord command thee. | But Michael the archangel, when disputing with the devil he reasoned about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a railing judgment against [him], but said, [The] Lord rebuke thee. |
Jude 1:10 | But these speak evil of whatever things they don't know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, in these things are they destroyed. | But these men blaspheme whatever things they know not: and what things soever they naturally know, like dumb beasts, in these they are corrupted. | But these, whatever things they know not, they speak railingly against; but what even, as the irrational animals, they understand by mere nature, in these things they corrupt themselves. |
Jude 1:11 | Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah's rebellion. | Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain: and after the error of Balaam they have for reward poured out themselves, and have perished in the contradiction of Core. | Woe to them! because they have gone in the way of Cain, and given themselves up to the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. |
Jude 1:12 | These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; | These are spots in their banquets, feasting together without fear, feeding themselves, clouds without water, which are carried about by winds, trees of the autumn, unfruitful, twice dead, plucked up by the roots, | These are spots in your love-feasts, feasting together [with you] without fear, pasturing themselves; clouds without water, carried along by [the] winds; autumnal trees, without fruit, twice dead, rooted up; |
Jude 1:13 | wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. | Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own confusion; wandering stars, to whom the storm of darkness is reserved for ever. | raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shames; wandering stars, to whom has been reserved the gloom of darkness for eternity. |
Jude 1:14 | To these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, | Now of these Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold, the Lord cometh with thousands of his saints, | And Enoch, [the] seventh from Adam, prophesied also as to these, saying, Behold, [the] Lord has come amidst his holy myriads, |
Jude 1:15 | to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him." | To execute judgment upon all, and to reprove all the ungodly for all the works of their ungodliness, whereby they have done ungodly, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against God. | to execute judgment against all; and to convict all the ungodly of them of all their works of ungodliness, which they have wrought ungodlily, and of all the hard [things] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. |
Jude 1:16 | These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaks proud things), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage. | These are murmurers, full of complaints, walking according to their own desires, and their mouth speaketh proud things, admiring persons for gain's sake. | These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts; and their mouth speaks swelling words, admiring persons for the sake of profit. |
Jude 1:17 | But you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. | But you, my dearly beloved, be mindful of the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, | But *ye*, beloved, remember the words spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, |
Jude 1:18 | They said to you that "In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts." | Who told you, that in the last time there should come mockers, walking according to their own desires in ungodlinesses. | that they said to you, that at [the] end of the time there should be mockers, walking after their own lusts of ungodlinesses. |
Jude 1:19 | These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit. | These are they, who separate themselves, sensual men, having not the Spirit. | These are they who set [themselves] apart, natural [men], not having [the] Spirit. |
Jude 1:20 | But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. | But you, my beloved, building yourselves upon you most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, | But *ye*, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, |
Jude 1:21 | Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. | Keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto life everlasting. | keep yourselves in the love of God, awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. |
Jude 1:22 | On some have compassion, making a distinction, | And some indeed reprove, being judged: | And of some have compassion, making a difference, |
Jude 1:23 | and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh. | But others save, pulling them out of the fire. And on others have mercy, in fear, hating also the spotted garment which is carnal. | but others save with fear, snatching [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. |
Jude 1:24 | Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy, | Now to him who is able to preserve you without sin, and to present you spotless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, | But to him that is able to keep you without stumbling, and to set [you] with exultation blameless before his glory, |
Jude 1:25 | to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. | To the only God our Saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and magnificence, empire and power, before all ages, and now, and for all ages of ages. Amen. | to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, [be] glory, majesty, might, and authority, from before the whole age, and now, and to all the ages. Amen. |
