Leviticus 11:1Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
Leviticus 11:2Speak to the children of Israel, saying, These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.Say to the children of Israel: These are the animals which you are to eat of all the living things of the earth.Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the animals which ye shall eat of all the beasts which are on the earth.
Leviticus 11:3Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, [and] chews the cud, among the animals, that may you eat.Whatsoever hath the hoof divided, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, you shall eat.Whatever hath cloven hoofs, and feet quite split open, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts that shall ye eat.
Leviticus 11:4Nevertheless these shall you not eat of them that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.But whatsoever cheweth indeed the cud, and hath a hoof, but divideth it not, as the camel, and others, that you shall not eat, but shall reckon it among the unclean.Only these shall ye not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those with cloven hoofs: the camel, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs it shall be unclean unto you;
Leviticus 11:5The rabbit, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted the hoof, he is unclean to you.The cherogrillus which cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof, is unclean.and the rock-badger, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs it shall be unclean unto you;
Leviticus 11:6The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn't part the hoof, she is unclean to you.The hare also: for that too cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof.and the hare, for it cheweth the cud, but hath not cloven hoofs it shall be unclean unto you;
Leviticus 11:7The pig, because he doesn't part the hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, he is unclean to you.And the swine, which, though it divideth the hoof, cheweth not the cud.and the swine, for it hath cloven hoofs, and feet quite split open, but it cheweth not the cud it shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus 11:8Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.The flesh of these you shall not eat, nor shall you touch their carcasses, because they are unclean to you.Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch: they shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus 11:9These may you eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that may you eat.These are the things that breed in the waters, and which it is lawful to eat. All that hath fins, and scales, as well in the sea, as in the rivers, and the pools, you shall eat.These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatever hath fins and scales in waters, in seas and in rivers, these shall ye eat;
Leviticus 11:10All that don't have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,But whatsoever hath not fins and scales, of those things that move and live in the waters, shall be an abomination to you,but all that have not fins and scales in seas and in rivers, of all that swarm in the waters, and of every living soul which is in the waters they shall be an abomination unto you.
Leviticus 11:11and they shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat of their flesh, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination.And detestable : their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall avoid.They shall be even an abomination unto you: of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase ye shall have in abomination.
Leviticus 11:12Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.All that have not fins and scales, in the waters, shall be unclean.Whatever in the waters hath no fins and scales, that shall be an abomination unto you.
Leviticus 11:13These you shall have in abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the gier-eagle, and the ospray,Of birds these are they which you must not eat, and which are to be avoided by you: The eagle, and the griffon, and the osprey,And these shall ye have in abomination of the fowls; they shall not be eaten; an abomination shall they be: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,
Leviticus 11:14and the kite, and the falcon after its kind,And the kite, and the vulture, according to their kind,and the falcon, and the kite, after its kind;
Leviticus 11:15every raven after its kind,And all that is of the raven kind, according to their likeness.every raven after its kind;
Leviticus 11:16and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the seamew, and the hawk after its kind,The ostrich, and the owl, and the larus, and the hawk according to its kind.and the female ostrich and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, and the hawk, after its kind;
Leviticus 11:17and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,The screech owl, and the cormorant, and the ibis,and the owl, and the gannet, and the ibis,
Leviticus 11:18and the horned owl, and the pelican, and the vulture,And the swan, and the bittern, and the porphyrion,and the swan, and the pelican, and the carrion vulture,
Leviticus 11:19and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.The heron, and the charadrion according to its kind, the houp also, and the bat.and the stork; the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
Leviticus 11:20All winged creeping things that go on all fours are an abomination to you.Of things that fly, whatsoever goeth upon four feet, shall be abominable to you.Every winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four shall be an abomination unto you.
Leviticus 11:21Yet these may you eat of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to leap on the earth.But whatsoever walketh upon four feet, but hath the legs behind longer, wherewith it hoppeth upon the earth,Yet these shall ye eat of every winged crawling thing that goeth upon all four: those which have legs above their feet with which to leap upon the earth.
Leviticus 11:22Even these of them you may eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.That you shall eat, as the bruchus in its kind, the attacus, and ophiomachus, and the locust, every one according to their kind.These shall ye eat of them: the arbeh after its kind, and the solam after its kind, and the hargol after its kind, and the hargab after its kind.
Leviticus 11:23But all winged creeping things, which have four feet, are an abomination to you.But of dying things whatsoever hath four feet only, shall be an abomination to you:But every winged crawling thing that hath four feet shall be an abomination unto you.
Leviticus 11:24By these you shall become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be unclean until the even;And whosoever shall touch the carcasses of them, shall be defiled, and shall be unclean until the evening:And by these ye shall make yourselves unclean; whoever toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:25Whoever bears [anything] of the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.And if it be necessary that he carry any of these things when they are dead, he shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until the sun set.And whoever carrieth [ought] of their carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:26Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you: everyone who touches them shall be unclean.Every beast that hath a hoof, but divideth it not, nor cheweth the cud, shall be unclean: and he that toucheth it, shall be defiled.Every beast that hath cloven hoofs, but not feet quite split open, nor cheweth the cud, shall be unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
Leviticus 11:27Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the even.That which walketh upon hands of all animals which go on all four, shall be unclean: he that shall touch their carcasses shall be defiled until evening.And whatever goeth on its paws, among all manner of beasts that go upon all four, those are unclean unto you: whoever toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:28He who bears the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean to you.And he that shall carry such carcasses, shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until evening: because all these things are unclean to you.And he that carrieth their carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even: they shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus 11:29These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the great lizard after its kind,These also shall be reckoned among unclean things, of all that move upon the earth, the weasel, and the mouse, and the crocodile, every one according to their kind:And these shall be unclean unto you among the crawling things which crawl on the earth: the mole, and the field-mouse, and the lizard, after its kind;
Leviticus 11:30and the gecko, and the land-crocodile, and the lizard, and the sand-lizard, and the chameleon.The shrew, and the chameleon, and the stello, and the lizard, and the mole:and the groaning lizard, and the great red lizard, and the climbing lizard, and the chomet, and the chameleon.
Leviticus 11:31These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep: whoever does touch them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even.31All these are unclean. He that toucheth their carcasses shall be unclean until the evening.These shall be unclean unto you among all that crawl: whoever toucheth them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:32On whatever any of them, when they are dead, does fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it be, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean.And upon what thing soever any of their carcasses shall fall, it shall be defiled, whether it be a vessel of wood, or a garment, or skins or haircloths; or any thing in which work is done, they shall be dipped in water, and shall be unclean until the evening, and so afterwards shall be clean.And on whatever any of them when they are dead doth fall, it shall be unclean; all vessels of wood, or garment, or skin, or sack, every vessel wherewith work is done it shall be put into water, and be unclean until the even; then shall it be clean.
Leviticus 11:33Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, whatever is in it shall be unclean, and it you shall break.But an earthen vessel, into which any of these shall fall, shall be defiled, and therefore is to be broken.And every earthen vessel into which [any] of them falleth whatever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
Leviticus 11:34All food [therein] which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every [such] vessel shall be unclean.Any meat which you eat, if water from such a vessel be poured upon it, shall be unclean; and every liquor that is drunk out of any such vessel, shall be unclean.All food that is eaten on which [such] water hath come shall be unclean; and all drink that is drunk shall be unclean, in every [such] vessel.
Leviticus 11:35Every thing whereupon [any part] of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.And upon whatsoever thing any of these dead beasts shall fall, it shall be unclean: whether it be oven, or pots with feet, they shall be destroyed, and shall be unclean.And everything where upon [any part] of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; oven and hearth shall be broken down: they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus 11:36Nevertheless a spring or a pit in which is a gathering of water shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.But fountains and cisterns, and all gatherings together of waters shall be clean. He that toucheth their carcasses shall be defiled.Nevertheless, a spring or a well, a quantity of water, shall be clean. But he that toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
Leviticus 11:37If [anything] of their carcass fall on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.If it fall upon seed corn, it shall not defile it.And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing-seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean;
Leviticus 11:38But if water be put on the seed, and [anything] of their carcass fall thereon, it is unclean to you.But if any man pour water upon the seed, and afterwards it be touched by the carcasses, it shall be forthwith defiled.but if water have been put on the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
Leviticus 11:39If any animal, of which you may eat, die; he who touches the carcass of it shall be unclean until the even.If any beast die, of which it is lawful for you to eat, he that toucheth the carcass thereof, shall be unclean until the evening:And if any beast which is to you for food die, he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:40He who eats of the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that bears the carcass of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.And he that eateth or carrieth any thing thereof, shall wash his clothes, and shall be unclean until the evening.And he that eateth of its carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even: he also that carrieth its carcase shall wash his garments, and be unclean until the even.
Leviticus 11:41Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.41All that creepeth upon the earth shall be abominable, neither shall it be taken for meat.And every crawling thing which crawleth on the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
Leviticus 11:42Whatever goes on the belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.Whatsoever goeth upon the breast on four feet, or hath many feet, or traileth on the earth, you shall not eat, because it is abominable.Whatever goeth on the belly, and whatever goeth on all four, and all that have a great many feet, of every manner of crawling thing which crawleth on the earth these ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
Leviticus 11:43You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.Do not defile your souls, nor touch aught thereof, lest you be unclean,Ye shall not make yourselves abominable through any crawling thing which crawleth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
Leviticus 11:44For I am Yahweh your God: sanctify yourselves therefore, and be you holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moves on the earth.For I am the Lord your God: be holy because I am holy. Defile not your souls by any creeping thing, that moveth upon the earth.For I am Jehovah your God; and ye shall hallow yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy; and ye shall not make yourselves unclean through any manner of crawling thing which creepeth on the earth.
Leviticus 11:45For I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.For I am the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that I might be your God.For I am Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Leviticus 11:46This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth;You shall be holy, because I am holy. This is the law of beasts and fowls, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and creepeth on the earth:This is the law of cattle, and of fowl, and of every living soul that moveth in the waters, and of every soul that crawleth on the earth;
Leviticus 11:47to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.That you may know the differences of the clean, and unclean, and know what you ought to eat, and what to refuse.to make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that is to be eaten and the beast that is not to be eaten.
