Luke 5:1Now it happened, while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.And it came to pass, that when the multitudes pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Genesareth,And it came to pass, as the crowd pressed on him to hear the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret:
Luke 5:2He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.and he saw two ships standing by the lake, but the fishermen, having come down from them, were washing their nets.
Luke 5:3He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.And going into one of the ships that was Simon's, he desired him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting he taught the multitudes out of the ship.And getting into one of the ships, which was Simon's, he asked him to draw out a little from the land; and he sat down and taught the crowds out of the ship.
Luke 5:4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch."Now when he had ceased to speak, he said to Simon: Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.But when he ceased speaking, he said to Simon, Draw out into the deep [water] and let down your nets for a haul.
Luke 5:5Simon answered him, "Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net."And Simon answering said to him: Master, we have labored all the night, and have taken nothing: but at thy word I will let down the net.And Simon answering said to him, Master, having laboured through the whole night we have taken nothing, but at thy word I will let down the net.
Luke 5:6When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking.And when they had done this, they enclosed a very great multitude of fishes, and their net broke.And having done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes. And their net broke.
Luke 5:7They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.And they beckoned to their partners that were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were almost sinking.And they beckoned to their partners who were in the other ship to come and help them, and they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were sinking.
Luke 5:8But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord."Which when Simon Peter saw, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying: Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.But Simon Peter, seeing it, fell at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.
Luke 5:9For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught;For he was wholly astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken.For astonishment had laid hold on him, and on all those who were with him, at the haul of fishes which they had taken;
Luke 5:10and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid. From now on you will catch men alive."And so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's partners. And Jesus saith to Simon: Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men.and in like manner also on James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not; henceforth thou shalt be catching men.
Luke 5:11When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him.And having brought their ships to land, leaving all things, they followed him.And having run the ships on shore, leaving all they followed him.
Luke 5:12It happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."And it came to pass, when he was ina certain city, behold a man full of leprosy, who seeing Jesus, and falling on his face, besought him, saying: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.And it came to pass as he was in one of the cities, that behold, there was a man full of leprosy, and seeing Jesus, falling upon his face, he besought him saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.
Luke 5:13He stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately the leprosy departed from him.And stretching forth his hand, he touched him, saying: I will. Be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.And stretching forth his hand he touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed: and immediately the leprosy departed from him.
Luke 5:14He charged him to tell no one, "But go your way, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."And he charged him that he should tell no man, but, Go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.And he enjoined him to tell no one; but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses ordained, for a testimony to them.
Luke 5:15But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.But the fame of him went abroad the more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.But the report concerning him was spread abroad still more, and great crowds came together to hear, and to be healed from their infirmities.
Luke 5:16But he withdrew himself into the desert, and prayed.And he retired into the desert, and prayed.And *he* withdrew himself, and was about in the desert [places] and praying.
Luke 5:17It happened on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them.And it came to pass on a certain day, as he sat teaching, that there were also Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, that were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was to heal them.And it came to pass on one of the days, that *he* was teaching, and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and [out of] Jerusalem; and [the] Lord's power was [there] to heal them.
Luke 5:18Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before him.And behold, men brought in a bed a man, who had the palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.And lo, men bringing upon a couch a man who was paralysed; and they sought to bring him in, and put [him] before him.
Luke 5:19Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the midst before Jesus.And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the multitude, they went up upon the roof, and let him down through the tiles with his bed into the midst before Jesus.And not finding what way to bring him in, on account of the crowd, going up on the housetop they let him down through the tiles, with his little couch, into the midst before Jesus.
Luke 5:20Seeing their faith, he said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you."Whose faith when he saw, he said: Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
Luke 5:21The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason [in their minds], saying, Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins but God alone?
Luke 5:22But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, "Why are you reasoning so in your hearts?And when Jesus knew their thoughts, answering, he said to them: What is it you think in your hearts?But Jesus, knowing their reasonings, answering said to them, Why reason ye in your hearts?
Luke 5:23Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you;' or to say, 'Arise and walk?'Which is easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
Luke 5:24But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" (he said to the paralyzed man), "I tell you, arise, and take up your cot, and go to your house."But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he said to the paralysed man, I say to thee, Arise, and take up thy little couch and go to thine house.
Luke 5:25Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God.And immediately rising up before them, he took up the bed on which he lay; and he went away to his own house, glorifying God.And immediately standing up before them, having taken up that whereon he was laid, he departed to his house, glorifying God.
Luke 5:26Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, "We have seen strange things today."And all were astonished; and they glorified God. And they were filled with fear, saying: We have seen wonderful things to day.And astonishment seized all, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.
Luke 5:27After these things he went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office, and said to him, "Follow me."And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said to him: Follow me.And after these things he went forth and saw a tax-gatherer, Levi by name, sitting at the receipt of taxes, and said to him, Follow me.
Luke 5:28He left everything, and rose up and followed him.And leaving all things, he rose up and followed him.And having left all, rising up, he followed him.
Luke 5:29Levi made him a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them.And Levi made him a great feast in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans, and of others, that were at table with them.And Levi made a great entertainment for him in his house, and there was a great crowd of tax-gatherers and others who were at table with them.
Luke 5:30Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?"But the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying to his disciples: Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?And their scribes and the Pharisees murmured at his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with tax-gatherers and sinners?
Luke 5:31Jesus answered them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.And Jesus answering, said to them: They that are whole, need not the physician: but they that are sick.And Jesus answering said to them, They that are in sound health have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.
Luke 5:32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."I came not to call the just, but sinners to penance.I am not come to call righteous [persons], but sinful [ones] to repentance.
Luke 5:33They said to him, "Why do John's disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?"And they said to him: Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees in like manner; but thine eat and drink?And they said to him, Why do the disciples of John fast often and make supplications, in like manner those also of the Pharisees, but thine eat and drink?
Luke 5:34He said to them, "Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them?To whom he said: Can you make the children of the bridegroom fast, whilst the bridegroom is with them?And he said to them, Can ye make the sons of the bridechamber fast when the bridegroom is with them?
Luke 5:35But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then will they fast in those days."But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then shall they fast in those days.But days will come when also the bridegroom will have been taken away from them; then shall they fast in those days.
Luke 5:36He also told a parable to them. "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old.And he spoke also a similitude to them: That no man putteth a piece from a new garment upon an old garment; otherwise he both rendeth the new, and the piece taken from the new agreeth not with the old.And he spoke also a parable to them: No one puts a piece of a new garment upon an old garment, otherwise he will both rend the new, and the piece which is from the new will not suit with the old.
Luke 5:37No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.And no man putteth new wine into old bottle: otherwise the new wine will break the bottles, and it will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost.And no one puts new wine into old skins, otherwise the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be poured out, and the skins will be destroyed;
Luke 5:38But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.but new wine is to be put into new skins, and both are preserved.
Luke 5:39No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, 'The old is better.'"And no man drinking old, hath presently a mind to new: for he saith, The old is better.And no one having drunk old wine [straightway] wishes for new, for he says, The old is better.
