Mark 8:1In those days, when there was a very great multitude, and they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to himself, and said to them,In those days again, when there was a great multitude, and had nothing to eat; calling his disciples together, he saith to them:In those days, there being again a great crowd, and they having nothing that they could eat, having called his disciples to [him], he says to them,
Mark 8:2"I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.I have compassion on the multitude, for behold they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat.I have compassion on the crowd, because they have stayed with me already three days and they have not anything they can eat,
Mark 8:3If I send them away fasting to their home, they will faint on the way, for some of them have come a long way."And if I shall send them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the way; for some of them came from afar off.and if I should dismiss them to their home fasting, they will faint on the way; for some of them are come from far.
Mark 8:4His disciples answered him, "From where will one be able to fill these men with bread here in a desert place?"And his disciples answered him: From whence can any one fill them here with bread in the wilderness?And his disciples answered him, Whence shall one be able to satisfy these with bread here in a desert place?
Mark 8:5He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven."And he asked them: How many loaves have ye? Who said: Seven.And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
Mark 8:6He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.And taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, he broke, and gave to his disciples for to set before them; and they set them before the people.And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And having taken the seven loaves, he gave thanks, and broke [them] and gave [them] to his disciples, that they might set [them] before [them]; and they set [them] before the crowd.
Mark 8:7They had a few small fish. Having blessed them, he said to serve these also.And they had a few little fishes; and he blessed them, and commanded them to be set before them.And they had a few small fishes, and having blessed them, he desired these also to be set before [them].
Mark 8:8They ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets of broken pieces that were left over.And they did eat and were filled; and they took up that which was left of the fragments, seven baskets.And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up of fragments that remained seven baskets.
Mark 8:9Those who had eaten were about four thousand. Then he sent them away.And they that had eaten were about four thousand; and he sent them away.And they [that had eaten] were about four thousand; and he sent them away.
Mark 8:10Immediately he entered into the boat with his disciples, and came into the region of Dalmanutha.And immediately going up into a ship with his disciples, he came into the parts of Dalmanutha.And immediately going on board ship with his disciples, he came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
Mark 8:11The Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking a sign from heaven from him, and tempting him.And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, asking him a sign from heaven, tempting him.And the Pharisees went out and began to dispute against him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
Mark 8:12He sighed deeply in his spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek a sign? Most assuredly I tell you, there will no sign be given to this generation."And sighing deeply in spirit, he saith: Why doth this generation seek a sign? Amen, I say to you, a sign shall not be given to this generation.And groaning in his spirit, he says, Why does this generation seek a sign? Verily I say unto you, A sign shall in no wise be given to this generation.
Mark 8:13He left them, and again entering into the boat, departed to the other side.And leaving them, he went up again into the ship, and passed to the other side of the water.And he left them, and going again on board ship, went away to the other side.
Mark 8:14They forgot to take bread; and they didn't have more than one loaf in the boat with them.And they forgot to take bread; and they had but one loaf with them in the ship.And they forgot to take bread, and save one loaf, they had not [any] with them in the ship.
Mark 8:15He charged them, saying, "Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."And he charged them, saying: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and [of] the leaven of Herod.
Mark 8:16They reasoned with one another, saying, "It's because we have no bread."And they reasoned among themselves, saying: Because we have no bread.And they reasoned with one another, [saying], It is because we have no bread.
Mark 8:17Jesus, perceiving it, said to them, "Why do you reason that it's because you have no bread? Don't you perceive yet, neither understand? Is your heart still hardened?Which Jesus knowing, saith to them: Why do you reason, because you have no bread? do you not yet know nor understand? have you still your heart blinded?And Jesus knowing [it], says to them, Why reason ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet perceive nor understand? Have ye your heart [yet] hardened?
Mark 8:18Having eyes, don't you see? Having ears, don't you hear? Don't you remember?Having eyes, see you not? and having ears, hear you not? neither do you remember.Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
Mark 8:19When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Twelve."When I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took you up? They say to him, Twelve.When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say to him, Twelve.
Mark 8:20"When the seven loaves fed the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They told him, "Seven."When also the seven loaves among four thousand, how many baskets of fragments took you up? And they say to him, Seven.And when the seven for the four thousand, the filling of how many baskets of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
Mark 8:21He asked them, "Don't you understand, yet?"And he said to them: How do you not yet understand?And he said to them, How do ye not yet understand?
Mark 8:22He came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him, and begged him to touch him.And they came to Bethsaida; and they bring to him a blind man, and they besought him that he would touch him.And he comes to Bethsaida; and they bring him a blind man, and beseech him that he might touch him.
Mark 8:23He took hold of the blind man by the hand, and brought him out of the village. When he had spit on his eyes, and laid his hands on him, he asked him if he saw anything.And taking the blind man by the hand, he led him out of the town; and spitting upon his eyes, laying his hands on him, he asked him if he saw any thing.And taking hold of the hand of the blind man he led him forth out of the village, and having spit upon his eyes, he laid his hands upon him, and asked him if he beheld anything.
Mark 8:24He looked up, and said, "I see men; for I see them like trees walking."And looking up, he said: I see men as it were trees, walking.And having looked up, he said, I behold men, for I see [them], as trees, walking.
Mark 8:25Then again he laid his hands on his eyes. He looked intently, and was restored, and saw everyone clearly.After that again he laid his hands upon his eyes, and he began to see, and was restored, so that he saw all things clearly.Then he laid his hands again upon his eyes, and he saw distinctly, and was restored and saw all things clearly.
Mark 8:26He sent him away to his house, saying, "Don't enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village."And he sent him into his house, saying: Go into thy house, and if thou enter into the town, tell nobody.And he sent him to his house, saying, Neither enter into the village, nor tell [it] to any one in the village.
Mark 8:27Jesus went forth, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, "Who do men say that I am?"And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi. And in the way, he asked his disciples, saying to them: Whom do men say that I am?And Jesus went forth and his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea-Philippi. And by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?
Mark 8:28They told him, "John the Baptizer, and others, Elijah, but others, one of the prophets."Who answered him, saying: John the Baptist; but some Elias, and others as one of the prophets.And they answered him, saying, John the baptist; and others, Elias; but others, One of the prophets.
Mark 8:29He asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."Then he saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Peter answering said to him: Thou art the Christ.And he asked them, But *ye*, who do ye say that I am? And Peter answering says to him, *Thou* art the Christ.
Mark 8:30He charged them that they should tell no one about him.And he strictly charged them that they should not tell any man of him.And he charged them straitly, in order that they should tell no man about him.
Mark 8:31He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the ancients and by the high priests, and the scribes, and be killed: and after three days rise again.And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise [again].
Mark 8:32He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.And he spoke the word openly. And Peter taking him, began to rebuke him.And he spoke the thing openly. And Peter, taking him to [him], began to rebuke him.
Mark 8:33But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men."Who turning about and seeing his disciples, threatened Peter, saying: Go behind me, Satan, because thou savorest not the things that are of God, but that are of men.But he, turning round and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, Get away behind me, Satan, for thy mind is not on the things that are of God, but on the things that are of men.
Mark 8:34He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, "Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.And calling the multitude together with his disciples, he said to them: If any man will follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.And having called the crowd with his disciples, he said to them, Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.
Mark 8:35For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel, shall save it.For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's shall save it.
Mark 8:36For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?
Mark 8:37For what should a man give in exchange for his life?Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?for what should a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:38For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."For he that shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation: the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him shall the Son of man also be ashamed when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
