Matthew 20:1"For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. The kingdom of heaven is like to an householder, who went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard."For the Kingdom of the Heavens is like an employer who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard,
Matthew 20:2When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.and having made an agreement with them for a shilling a day, sent them into his vineyard.
Matthew 20:3He went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace. And going about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market place idle.About nine o'clock he went out and saw others loitering in the market-place.
Matthew 20:4To them he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' So they went their way.And he said to them: Go you also into my vineyard, and I will give you what shall be just.To these also he said, "`You also, go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.'
Matthew 20:5Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. And they went their way. And again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did in like manner."So they went. Again about twelve, and about three o'clock, he went out and did the same.
Matthew 20:6About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them, 'Why do you stand here all day idle?'But about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing, and he saith to them: Why stand you here all the day idle? And going out about five o'clock he found others loitering, and he asked them, "`Why have you been standing here all day long, doing nothing?'
Matthew 20:7They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.'They say to him: Because no man hath hired us. He saith to them: Go you also into my vineyard."`Because no one has hired us,' they replied. "`You also, go into the vineyard,' he said.
Matthew 20:8When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, 'Call the laborers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last to the first.'And when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard saith to his steward: Call the labourers and pay them their hire, beginning from the last even to the first."When evening came, the master said to his steward, "`Call the men and pay them their wages. Begin with the last set and finish with the first.'
Matthew 20:9When they who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.When therefore they were come, that came about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny."When those came who had begun at five o'clock, they received a shilling apiece;
Matthew 20:10When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius. But when the first also came, they thought that they should receive more: and they also received every man a penny.and when the first came, they expected to get more, but they also each got the shilling.
Matthew 20:11When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,And receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,So when they had received it, they grumbled against the employer, saying,
Matthew 20:12saying, 'These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!'Saying: These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, that have borne the burden of the day and the heats."`These who came last have done only one hour's work, and you have put them on a level with us who have worked the whole day and have borne the scorching heat.'
Matthew 20:13But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn't you agree with me for a denarius? But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny?"`My friend,' he answered to one of them, `I am doing you no injustice. Did you not agree with me for a shilling?
Matthew 20:14Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my will to give to this last just as much as to you.Take what is thine, and go thy way: I will also give to this last even as to thee.Take your money and go. I choose to give this last comer just as much as I give you.
Matthew 20:15Isn't it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?'Or, is it not lawful for me to do what I will? is thy eye evil, because I am good?Have I not a right to do what I choose with my own property? Or are you envious because I am generous?'
Matthew 20:16So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen."So shall the last be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen."So the last shall be first, and the first last."

They will condemn Him to death,
Matthew 20:19and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up."And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to be mocked, and scourged, and crucified, and the third day he shall rise again.and hand Him over to the Gentiles to be made sport of and scourged and crucified; and on the third day He will be raised to life."

Matthew 20:21He said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your kingdom."Who said to her: What wilt thou? She saith to him: Say that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left, in thy kingdom."What is it you desire?" He asked. "Command," she replied, "that these my two sons may sit one at your right hand and one at your left in your Kingdom."
Matthew 20:22But Jesus answered, "You don't know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They say to him: We can."None of you know what you are asking for," said Jesus; "can you drink out of the cup from which I am about to drink?" "We can," they replied.
Matthew 20:23He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father."He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink; but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father."You shall drink out of my cup," He said, "but a seat at my right hand or at my left it is not for me to allot, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father."
