Numbers 10:1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, And the Lord said to Moses,
Numbers 10:2Make you two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shall you make them: and you shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. Make two silver horns of hammered work, to be used for getting the people together and to give the sign for the moving of the tents.
Numbers 10:3When they shall blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the tent of meeting.And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. When they are sounded, all the people are to come together to you at the door of the Tent of meeting.
Numbers 10:4If they blow but one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves to you.And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. If only one of them is sounded, then the chiefs, the heads of the thousands of Israel, are to come to you.
Numbers 10:5When you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward. When a loud note is sounded, the tents placed on the east side are to go forward.
Numbers 10:6When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. At the sound of a second loud note, the tents on the south side are to go forward: the loud note will be the sign to go forward.
Numbers 10:7But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. But when all the people are to come together, the horn is to be sounded but not loudly.
Numbers 10:8The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and they shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations.And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations. The horns are to be sounded by the sons of Aaron, the priests; this is to be a law for you for ever, from generation to generation.
Numbers 10:9When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before Yahweh your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. And if you go to war in your land against any who do you wrong, then let the loud note of the horn be sounded; and the Lord your God will keep you in mind and give you salvation from those who are against you.
Numbers 10:10Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God: I am Yahweh your God.Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God. And on days of joy and on your regular feasts and on the first day of every month, let the horns be sounded over your burned offerings and your peace-offerings; and they will put the Lord in mind of you: I am the Lord your God.
Numbers 10:11It happened in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from over the tent of the testimony.And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony. Now in the second year, on the twentieth day of the second month, the cloud was taken up from over the Tent of witness.
Numbers 10:12The children of Israel set forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud abode in the wilderness of Paran.And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. And the children of Israel went on their journey out of the waste land of Sinai; and the cloud came to rest in the waste land of Paran.
Numbers 10:13They first took their journey according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. They went forward for the first time on their journey as the Lord had given orders by the hand of Moses.
Numbers 10:14In the first [place] the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. First the flag of the children of Judah went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Nahshon, the son of Amminadab.
Numbers 10:15Over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar. And at the head of the army of the children of Issachar was Nethanel, the son of Zuar.
Numbers 10:16Over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon. And at the head of the army of the children of Zebulun was Eliab, the son of Helon.
Numbers 10:17The tent was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the tent, set forward.And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle. Then the House was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were responsible for moving the House, went forward.
Numbers 10:18The standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur. Then the flag of the children of Reuben went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Elizur, the son of Shedeur.
Numbers 10:19Over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. And at the head of the army of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai.
Numbers 10:20Over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel. At the head of the army of the children of Gad was Eliasaph, the son of Reuel.
Numbers 10:21The Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and [the others] did set up the tent against their coming.And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came. Then the Kohathites went forward with the holy place; the others put up the House ready for their coming.
Numbers 10:22The standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud. Then the flag of the children of Ephraim went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Elishama, the son of Ammihud.
Numbers 10:23Over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. At the head of the army of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur.
Numbers 10:24Over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni. At the head of the army of the children of Benjamin was Abidan, the son of Gideoni.
Numbers 10:25The standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rearward of all the camps, set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. And the flag of the children of Dan, whose tents were moved last of all, went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai.
Numbers 10:26Over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran. At the head of the army of the children of Asher was Pagiel, the son of Ochran.
Numbers 10:27Over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan. And at the head of the army of the children of Naphtali was Ahira, the son of Enan.
Numbers 10:28Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their hosts; and they set forward.Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward. This was the order in which the children of Israel were journeying by armies; so they went forward.
Numbers 10:29Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said, I will give it you: come you with us, and we will do you good; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel. Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of his father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, We are journeying to that place of which the Lord has said, I will give it to you: so come with us, and it will be for your profit: for the Lord has good things in store for Israel.
Numbers 10:30He said to him, I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred. But he said, I will not go with you, I will go back to the land of my birth and to my relations.
Numbers 10:31He said, Don't leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you shall be to us instead of eyes.And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes. And he said, Do not go from us; for you will be eyes for us, guiding us to the right places in the waste land to put up our tents.
Numbers 10:32It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Yahweh shall do to us, the same will we do to you.And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee. And if you come with us, we will give you a part in whatever good the Lord does for us.
Numbers 10:33They set forward from the Mount of Yahweh three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of Yahweh went before them three days' journey, to seek out a resting-place for them.And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them. So they went forward three days' journey from the mountain of the Lord; and the ark of the Lord's agreement went three days' journey before them, looking for a resting-place for them;
Numbers 10:34The cloud of Yahweh was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp. And by day the cloud of the Lord went over them, when they went forward from the place where they had put up their tents.
Numbers 10:35It happened, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered; and let those who hate you flee before you.And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. And when the ark went forward Moses said, Come up, O Lord, and let the armies of those who are against you be broken, and let your haters go in flight before you.
Numbers 10:36When it rested, he said, Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel. And when it came to rest, he said, Take rest, O Lord, and give a blessing to the families of Israel.
