| Matthew 13:19 | When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside. | When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. | From every one who hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand [it], the wicked one comes and catches away what was sown in his heart: this is he that is sown by the wayside. |

| Matthew 13:21 | yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. | Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. | but has no root in himself, but is for a time only; and when tribulation or persecution happens on account of the word, he is immediately offended. |
