Matthew 10:1He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.And when he had called to him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease.And he got together his twelve disciples and gave them the power of driving out unclean spirits, and of making well all sorts of disease and pain.
Matthew 10:2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;Now the names of the twelve are these: The first, Simon, who is named Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;
Matthew 10:3Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew, the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew, the tax-farmer; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
Matthew 10:4Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who was false to him.
Matthew 10:5Jesus sent these twelve forth, and charged them, saying, "Don't go among the Gentiles, and don't enter into any city of the Samaritans.These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and enter ye not into any city of the Samaritans.These twelve Jesus sent out and gave them orders, saying, Do not go among the Gentiles, or into any town of Samaria,
Matthew 10:6Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But go to the wandering sheep of the house of Israel,
Matthew 10:7As you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.'And as ye go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.And, on your way, say, The kingdom of heaven is near.
Matthew 10:8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons: freely ye have received, freely give.Make well those who are ill, give life to the dead, make lepers clean, send evil spirits out of men; freely it has been given to you, freely give.
Matthew 10:9Don't take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;Take no gold or silver or copper in your pockets;
Matthew 10:10Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.Nor bag for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his food.Take no bag for your journey and do not take two coats or shoes or a stick: for the workman has a right to his food.
Matthew 10:11Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.And into whatever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till ye go thence.And into whatever town or small place you go, make search there for someone who is respected, and make his house your resting-place till you go away.
Matthew 10:12As you enter into the household, greet it.And when ye come into a house, salute it.And when you go in, say, May peace be on this house.
Matthew 10:13If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn't worthy, let your peace return to you.And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.And if the house is good enough, let your peace come on it: but if not, let your peace come back to you.
Matthew 10:14Whoever doesn't receive you, nor hear your words, as you go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart from that house, or city, shake off the dust of your feet.And whoever will not take you in, or give ear to your words, when you go out from that house or that town, put off its dust from your feet.
Matthew 10:15Most assuredly I tell you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.Verily, I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, in the day of judgment, than for that city.Truly I say to you, It will be better for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of God's judging than for that town.
Matthew 10:16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.See, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Be then as wise as snakes, and as gentle as doves.
Matthew 10:17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.But beware of men: for they will deliver you to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.But be on the watch against men: for they will give you up to the Sanhedrins, and in their Synagogues they will give you blows;
Matthew 10:18Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.And ye will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.And you will come before rulers and kings because of me, for a witness to them and to the Gentiles.
Matthew 10:19But when they deliver you up, don't be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak, for it shall be given to you in that same hour what ye shall speak.But when you are given up into their hands, do not be troubled about what to say or how to say it: for in that hour what you are to say will be given to you;
Matthew 10:20For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.Because it is not you who say the words, but the Spirit of your Father in you.
Matthew 10:21Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.And the brother will deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children will rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.And brother will give up brother to death, and the father his child: and children will go against their fathers and mothers, and put them to death.
Matthew 10:22You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.And ye will be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.And you will be hated by all men because of my name: but he who is strong to the end will have salvation.
Matthew 10:23But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most assuredly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say to you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of man shall have come.But when they are cruel to you in one town, go in flight to another: for truly, I say to you, You will not have gone through the towns of Israel before the Son of man comes.
Matthew 10:24"A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.The disciple is not above his teacher, nor the servant above his lord.A disciple is not greater than his master, or a servant than his lord.
Matthew 10:25It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more them of his household!It is enough for the disciple that he should be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord: if they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call them of his household?It is enough for the disciple that he may be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have given the name Beelzebub to the master of the house, how much more to those of his house!
Matthew 10:26Therefore don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; and hidden, that will not be known.Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.Have, then, no fear of them: because nothing is covered which will not come to light, or secret which will not be made clear.
Matthew 10:27What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that publish ye upon the house-tops.What I say to you in the dark, say in the light: and what comes to your ear secretly, say publicly from the house-tops.
Matthew 10:28Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.And have no fear of those who put to death the body, but are not able to put to death the soul. But have fear of him who has power to give soul and body to destruction in hell.
Matthew 10:29"Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will,Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father.Are not sparrows two a farthing? and not one of them comes to an end without your Father:
Matthew 10:30but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.But the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matthew 10:31Therefore don't be afraid, you are of more value than many sparrows.Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.Then have no fear; you are of more value than a flock of sparrows.
Matthew 10:32Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.Whoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.To everyone, then, who gives witness to me before men, I will give witness before my Father in heaven.
Matthew 10:33But whoever denies me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.But if anyone says before men that he has no knowledge of me, I will say that I have no knowledge of him before my Father in heaven.
Matthew 10:34"Don't think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn't come to send peace, but a sword.Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.Do not have the thought that I have come to send peace on the earth; I came not to send peace but a sword.
Matthew 10:35For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.For I have come to put a man against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law:
Matthew 10:36A man's foes will be those of his own household.And a man's foes will be they of his own household.And a man will be hated by those of his house.
Matthew 10:37He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me.He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.He who has more love for his father or mother than for me is not good enough for me; he who has more love for son or daughter than for me is not good enough for me.
Matthew 10:38He who doesn't take his cross and follow after me, isn't worthy of me.And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.And he who does not take his cross and come after me is not good enough for me.
Matthew 10:39He who finds his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall find it.He who has the desire to keep his life will have it taken from him, and he who gives up his life because of me will have it given back to him.
Matthew 10:40He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.He that receiveth you, receiveth me, and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.He who gives honour to you gives honour to me; and he who gives honour to me gives honour to him who sent me.
Matthew 10:41He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward: and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.He who gives honour to a prophet, in the name of a prophet, will be given a prophet's reward; and he who gives honour to an upright man, in the name of an upright man, will be given an upright man's reward.
Matthew 10:42Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink, in the name of a disciple, most assuredly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."And whoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones, a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily, I say to you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.And whoever gives to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will not go without his reward.
