Matthew 21:1When they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and had come to Bethphage, to the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, unto the mount of the Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
Matthew 21:2saying to them, "Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me.Saying to them, Go into the village over against you, and immediately ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her, loose them, and bring them to me.saying to them, `Go on to the village over-against you, and immediately ye shall find an ass bound, and a colt with her having loosed, bring ye to me;
Matthew 21:3If anyone says anything to you, you will say, 'The Lord needs them,' and immediately he will send them."And if any man shall say aught to you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and immediately he will send them.and if any one may say anything to you, ye shall say, that the lord hath need of them, and immediately he will send them.`
Matthew 21:4All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,And all this came to pass, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying,
Matthew 21:5"Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King comes to you, Humble, and riding on a donkey, On a colt, the foal of a donkey."Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.`Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Lo, thy king doth come to thee, meek, and mounted on an ass, and a colt, a foal of a beast of burden.`
Matthew 21:6The disciples went, and did just as Jesus commanded them,And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,And the disciples having gone and having done as Jesus commanded them,
Matthew 21:7and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.And brought the ass and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.brought the ass and the colt, and did put on them their garments, and set [him] upon them;
Matthew 21:8A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road.And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strewed them in the way.and the very great multitude spread their own garments in the way, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and were strewing in the way,
Matthew 21:9The multitudes who went before him, and who followed, cried, "Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!"And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.and the multitudes who were going before, and who were following, were crying, saying, `Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.`
Matthew 21:10When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?"And when he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?And he having entered into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, `Who is this?`
Matthew 21:11The multitudes said, "This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee."And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.And the multitudes said, `This is Jesus the prophet, who [is] from Nazareth of Galilee.`
Matthew 21:12Jesus entered into the temple of God, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money-changers' tables, and the seats of those who sold the doves.And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves.And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and did cast forth all those selling and buying in the temple, and the tables of the money-changers he overturned, and the seats of those selling the doves,
Matthew 21:13He said to them, "It is written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers!"And said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.and he saith to them, `It hath been written, My house a house of prayer shall be called, but ye did make it a den of robbers.`
Matthew 21:14The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.And there came to him blind and lame men in the temple, and he healed them,
Matthew 21:15But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the son of David!" they were moved with indignation,And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were greatly displeased,and the chief priests and the scribes having seen the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, `Hosanna to the Son of David,` were much displeased;
Matthew 21:16and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?'"And said to him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith to them, Yes: have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?and they said to him, `Hearest thou what these say?` And Jesus saith to them, `Yes, did ye never read, that, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou didst prepare praise?`
Matthew 21:17He left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany, and he lodged there.And having left them, he went forth out of the city to Bethany, and did lodge there,
Matthew 21:18Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.Now in the morning as he was returning into the city, he was hungry.and in the morning turning back to the city, he hungered,
Matthew 21:19Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, "Let there be no fruit from you forever!" Immediately the fig tree withered away.And when he saw a fig-tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing on it, but leaves only, and said to it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforth for ever. And immediately the fig-tree withered.and having seen a certain fig-tree on the way, he came to it, and found nothing in it except leaves only, and he saith to it, `No more from thee may fruit be to the age;` and forthwith the fig-tree withered.
Matthew 21:20When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree immediately wither away?"And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How soon is the fig-tree withered!And the disciples having seen, did wonder, saying, `How did the fig-tree forthwith wither?`
Matthew 21:21Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly I tell you, if you have faith, and don't doubt, you will not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if you will tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done.Jesus answered and said to them, Verily I say to you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig-tree, but also, if ye shall say to this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.And Jesus answering said to them, `Verily I say to you, If ye may have faith, and may not doubt, not only this of the fig-tree shall ye do, but even if to this mount ye may say, Be lifted up and be cast into the sea, it shall come to pass;
Matthew 21:22All things, whatever you will ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."And all things whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.and all as much as ye may ask in the prayer, believing, ye shall receive.`
Matthew 21:23When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?"And when he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things; and who gave thee this authority?And he having come to the temple, there came to him when teaching the chief priests and the elders of the people, saying, `By what authority dost thou do these things? and who gave thee this authority?`
Matthew 21:24Jesus answered them, "I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.And Jesus answered and said to them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I also will tell you by what authority I do these things.And Jesus answering said to them, `I will ask you I also one word, which if ye may tell me, I also will tell you by what authority I do these things;
Matthew 21:25The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?" They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we will say, 'From heaven,' he will tell us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, if we shall say, From heaven; he will say to us, Why then did ye not believe him?the baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or from men?` And they were reasoning with themselves, saying, `If we should say, From heaven; he will say to us, Wherefore, then, did ye not believe him?
Matthew 21:26But if we will say, 'From men,' we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet."But if we shall say, From men; we fear the people: for all hold John as a prophet.and if we should say, From men, we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet.`
Matthew 21:27They answered Jesus, and said, "We don't know." He also said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.And answering Jesus they said, `We have not known.` He said to them he also `Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Matthew 21:28But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in my vineyard.'But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go, work to-day in my vineyard.`And what think ye? A man had two children, and having come to the first, he said, Child, go, to-day be working in my vineyard.`
Matthew 21:29He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he repented himself, and went.He answered and said, I will not; but afterward he repented, and went.And he answering said, `I will not,` but at last, having repented, he went.
Matthew 21:30He came to the second, and said likewise. He answered, 'I go, sir,' but he didn't go.And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.`And having come to the second, he said in the same manner, and he answering said, I [go], sir, and went not;
Matthew 21:31Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to him, "The first." Jesus says to them, "Most assuredly I tell you, that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the kingdom of God before you.Which of the two did the will of his father? They say to him, The first. Jesus saith to them, Verily I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.which of the two did the will of the father?` They say to him, `The first.` Jesus saith to them, `Verily I say to you, that the tax-gatherers and the harlots do go before you into the reign of God,
Matthew 21:32For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn't even repent afterward, that you might believe him.For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.for John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him, and the tax-gatherers and the harlots did believe him, and ye, having seen, repented not at last to believe him.
Matthew 21:33"Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.Hear another parable; There was a certain householder, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it around, and digged a wine-press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a remote country:`Hear ye another simile: There was a certain man, a householder, who planted a vineyard, and did put a hedge round it, and digged in it a wine-press, and built a tower, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went abroad.
Matthew 21:34When the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruits.And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.`And when the season of the fruits came nigh, he sent his servants unto the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it,
Matthew 21:35The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.and the husbandmen having taken his servants, one they scourged, and one they killed, and one they stoned.
Matthew 21:36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did to them in like manner.Again he sent other servants more than the first: and they did to them in like manner.`Again he sent other servants more than the first, and they did to them in the same manner.
Matthew 21:37But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, 'They will respect my son.'But last of all he sent to them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.`And at last he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son;
Matthew 21:38But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and seize his inheritance.'But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.and the husbandmen having seen the son, said among themselves, This is the heir, come, we may kill him, and may possess his inheritance;
Matthew 21:39So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.and having taken him, they cast [him] out of the vineyard, and killed him;
Matthew 21:40When therefore the lord of the vineyard will come, what will he do to those farmers?"When therefore the Lord of the vineyard cometh, what will he do to those husbandmen?whenever therefore the lord of the vineyard may come, what will he do to these husbandmen?`
Matthew 21:41They told him, "He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruits in their seasons."They say to him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, who will render him the fruits in their seasons.They say to him, `Evil men he will evilly destroy them, and the vineyard will give out to other husbandmen, who will give back to him the fruits in their seasons.`
Matthew 21:42Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?'Jesus saith to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?Jesus saith to them, `Did ye never read in the Writings, A stone that the builders disallowed, it became head of a corner; from the Lord hath this come to pass, and it is wonderful in our eyes.
Matthew 21:43"Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation bringing forth its fruits.Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits of it.`Because of this I say to you, that the reign of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth its fruit;
Matthew 21:44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whoever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust."And whoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.and he who is falling on this stone shall be broken, and on whomsoever it may fall it will crush him to pieces.`
Matthew 21:45When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them.And the chief priests and the Pharisees having heard his similes, knew that of them he speaketh,
Matthew 21:46When they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet.But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.and seeking to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, seeing they were holding him as a prophet.
