| Genesis 20:1 | Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He sojourned in Gerar. | | And Abraham went on his way from there to the land of the South, and was living between Kadesh and Shur, in Gerar. |
| Genesis 20:2 | Abraham said about Sarah his wife, "She is my sister." Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. | | And Abraham said of Sarah, his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech, king of Gerar, sent and took Sarah. |

| Genesis 20:7 | Now therefore, restore the man's wife. For he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. If you don't restore her, know for sure that you will die, you, and all who are yours. | | So now, give the man back his wife, for he is a prophet, and let him say a prayer for you, so your life may be safe: but if you do not give her back, be certain that death will come to you and all your house. |
| Genesis 20:8 | Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ear. The men were very scared. | | So Abimelech got up early in the morning and sent for all his servants and gave them word of these things, and they were full of fear. |
| Genesis 20:9 | Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, "What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!" | | Then Abimelech sent for Abraham, and said, What have you done to us? what wrong have I done you that you have put on me and on my kingdom so great a sin? You have done to me things which are not to be done. |

| Genesis 20:11 | Abraham said, "Because I thought, 'Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife's sake.' | | And Abraham said, Because it seemed to me that there was no fear of God in this place, and that they might put me to death because of my wife. |

| Genesis 20:13 | It happened, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, 'This is your kindness which you shall show to me. | Genesis 20:16 | To Sarah he said, "Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated." | | And he said to Sarah, See, I have given to your brother a thousand bits of silver so that your wrong may be put right; now your honour is clear in the eyes of all. |
| Genesis 20:17 | Abraham prayed to God. God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maid-servants, and they bore children. | | Then Abraham made prayer to God, and God made Abimelech well again, and his wife and his women-servants, so that they had children. |
