Titus 3:1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to every good work,Remind people that they must submit to the rulers who are in authority over them; that they must obey the magistrates, be prepared for every right action,Put them in mind to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient to rule, to be ready to do every good work,
Titus 3:2to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all gentleness toward all men.not speak evil of any one, nor be contentious, but yield unselfishly to others and constantly manifest a forgiving spirit towards all men.to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, [to be] mild, shewing all meekness towards all men.
Titus 3:3For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.For there was a time when we also were deficient in understanding, obstinate, deluded, the slaves of various cravings and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy, hateful ourselves and hating one another.For we were once ourselves also without intelligence, disobedient, wandering in error, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
Titus 3:4But when the kindness of God, our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared,But when the goodness of God our Saviour, and His love to man, dawned upon us, not in consequence of things which we,But when the kindness and love to man of our Saviour God appeared,
Titus 3:5not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,as righteous men, had done, but as the result of His own mercy He saved us by means of the bath of regeneration and the renewal of our natures by the Holy Spirit,not on the principle of works which [have been done] in righteousness which *we* had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us through [the] washing of regeneration and renewal of [the] Holy Spirit,
Titus 3:6which he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ, our Savior;which He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;which he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Titus 3:7that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.in order that having been declared righteous through His grace we might become heirs to the Life of the Ages in fulfilment of our hopes.that, having been justified by *his* grace, we should become heirs according to [the] hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:8This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;This is a faithful saying, and on these various points I would have you insist strenuously, in order that those who have their faith fixed on God may be careful to set an example of good actions. For these are not only good in themselves, but are also useful to mankind.The word [is] faithful, and I desire that thou insist strenuously on these things, that they who have believed God may take care to pay diligent attention to good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
Titus 3:9but shun foolish questionings, genealogies, strife, and disputes about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.But hold yourself aloof from foolish controversies and pedigrees and discussions and wrangling about the Law, for they are useless and vain.But foolish questions, and genealogies, and strifes, and contentions about the law, shun; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Titus 3:10Avoid a factious man after a first and second warning;After a first and second admonition, have nothing further to do with any one who will not be taught;An heretical man after a first and second admonition have done with,
Titus 3:11knowing that such a one is perverted, and sins, being self-condemned.for, as you know, a man of that description has turned aside from the right path and is a sinner self-condemned.knowing that such a one is perverted, and sins, being self-condemned.
Titus 3:12When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis, for I have determined to winter there.After I have sent Artemas or Tychicus to you, lose no time in joining me at Nicopolis; for I have decided to pass the winter there.When I shall send Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, use diligence to come to me to Nicopolis; for I have decided to winter there.
Titus 3:13Send Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing may be lacking for them.Help Zenas the lawyer forward on his journey with special care, and Apollos, so that they may have all they require.Zenas the lawyer and Apollos set forward diligently on their way, that nothing may be lacking to them;
Titus 3:14Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.And let our people too learn to set a good example in following honest occupations for the supply of their necessities, so that they may not live useless lives.and let ours also learn to apply themselves to good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful.
Titus 3:15All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.Every one here sends you greeting. Greet the believers who hold us dear. May grace be with you all.All with me salute thee. Salute those who love us in [the] faith. Grace [be] with you all.
