They said, "No, but we will stay in the street all night."And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
Genesis 19:3He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. Genesis 19:5They called to Lot, and said to him, "Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them."And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? bring them out to us, that we may know them.
Genesis 19:6Lot went out to them to the door, and shut the door after him.And Lot went out at the door to them, and shut the door after him,
Genesis 19:7He said, "Please, my brothers, don't act so wickedly. And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
Genesis 19:8See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and do you to them as is good in your eyes. Only don't do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof."Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
Genesis 19:9They said, "Stand back!" They said, "This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he appoints himself a judge. Now will we deal worse with you, than with them!" They pressed hard on the man, even Lot, and drew near to break the door. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one man came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: Now will we deal worse with thee than with them. And they pressed hard upon the man, Lot, and came near to break the door.
Genesis 19:10But the men put forth their hand, and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
Genesis 19:11They struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
Genesis 19:12The men said to Lot, "Do you have you anybody else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whoever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:And the men said to Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son-in-law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
Genesis 19:13for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is grown great before Yahweh. Yahweh has sent us to destroy it."For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them has become great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking. And Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who married his daughters, and said, Arise, depart from this place; for the LORD will destroy this city: but he seemed to his sons-in-law as one that mocked.
Genesis 19:15When the morning arose, then the angels hurried Lot, saying, "Arise, take your wife, and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city."And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters who are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
Genesis 19:16But he lingered; and the men laid hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, Yahweh being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city. And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters: the LORD being merciful to him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
Genesis 19:17It came to pass, when they had taken them out, that he said, "Escape for your life! Don't look behind you, neither stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountain, lest you be consumed!"And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life: look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain: escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
Genesis 19:18Lot said to them, "Oh, not so, my lord. And Lot said to them, Oh, not so, my Lord!
Genesis 19:19See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have showed to me in saving my life. I can't escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die.Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shown to me in saving my life: and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil should take me, and I die:
Genesis 19:20See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (isn't it a little one?), and my soul will live."Behold now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a small one: Oh, let me escape thither! (Is it not a small one?) and my soul shall live.
Genesis 19:21He said to him, "Behold, I have accepted you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. And he said to him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for which thou hast spoken.
Genesis 19:22Hurry, escape there, for I can't do anything until you get there." Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.Haste thee, escape thither: for I cannot do any thing till thou hast come thither: therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
