Mark 13:1 | As he went forth out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!" | As He was leaving the Temple, one of His disciples exclaimed, "Look, Rabbi, what wonderful stones! what wonderful buildings!" | And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, Master, see what manner of stones, and what buildings are here! |
Mark 13:2 | Jesus said to him, "Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down." | "You see all these great buildings?" Jesus replied; "not one stone will be left here upon another not thrown down." | And Jesus answering said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. |
Mark 13:3 | As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately, | He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite to the Temple, when Peter, James, John, and Andrew, apart from the others asked Him, | And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, over against the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, asked him privately, |
Mark 13:4 | "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be accomplished?" | "Tell us, When will these things be? and what will be the sign when all these predictions are on the point of being fulfilled?" | Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? |
Mark 13:5 | Jesus, answering, began to tell them, "Be careful that no one leads you astray. | So Jesus began to say to them: "Take care that no one misleads you. | And Jesus answering them, began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: |
Mark 13:6 | For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he!' and will lead many astray. | Many will come assuming my name and saying, `I am He;' and they will mislead many. | For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many. |
Mark 13:7 | When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don't be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet. | But when you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed: come they must, but the End is not yet. | And when ye shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end will not be yet. |
Mark 13:8 | For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains. | For nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth. | For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be earthquakes in divers places, and there will be famines, and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. |
Mark 13:9 | But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. Before governors and kings will you stand for my sake, for a testimony to them. | "You yourselves must be on your guard. They will deliver you up to Sanhedrins; you will be brought into synagogues and cruelly beaten; and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to be witnesses to them for me. | But take heed to yourselves: for they will deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye will be beaten: and ye will be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. |
Mark 13:10 | The gospel must first be preached to all the nations. | But the proclamation of the Good News must be carried to all the Gentiles before the End comes. | And the gospel must first be published among all nations. |
Mark 13:11 | When they lead you away and deliver you up, don't be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. | When however they are marching you along under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say, but speak what is given you when the time comes; for it will not be you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. | But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, be not anxious beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit. |
Mark 13:12 | "Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death. | "Brother will betray brother to be killed, and fathers will betray children; and children will rise against their parents and have them put to death. | Now the brother will betray the brother to death, and the father the son: and children will rise up against their parents, and will cause them to be put to death. |
Mark 13:13 | You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved. | You will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name, but those who stand firm to the End will be saved. | And ye will be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. |
Mark 13:14 | But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, | "As soon, however, as you see the Abomination of Desolation standing where he ought not" let the reader observe these words "then let those in Judaea escape to the hills; | But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand) then let them that are in Judea flee to the mountains: |
Mark 13:15 | and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house. | let him who is on the roof not come down and enter the house to fetch anything out of it; | And let him that is on the house-top not go down into the house, neither enter it, to take any thing out of his house: |
Mark 13:16 | Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak. | and let not him who is in the field turn back to pick up his outer garment. | And let him that is in the field not turn back again to take up his garment. |
Mark 13:17 | But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days! | And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants! | But woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days. |
Mark 13:18 | Pray that your flight won't be in the winter. | "But pray that it may not come in the winter. | And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. |
Mark 13:19 | For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be. | For those will be times of suffering the like of which has never been from the first creation of God's world until now, and assuredly never will be again; | For in those days shall be affliction, such as hath not been from the beginning of the creation which God created to this time, neither shall be. |
Mark 13:20 | Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days. | and but for the fact that the Lord has cut short those days, no one would escape; but for the sake of His own People whom He has chosen for Himself He has cut short the days. | And except the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. |
Mark 13:21 | Then if anyone tells you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'Look, there!' don't believe it. | "At that time if any one says to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `See, He is there!' do not believe it. | And then, if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or lo, he is there; believe him not. |
Mark 13:22 | For there will arise false christs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, also the elect. | For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying signs and prodigies with a view to lead astray if indeed that were possible even God's own People. | For false Christs, and false prophets will rise, and will show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. |
Mark 13:23 | But you watch. "Behold, I have told you all things beforehand. | But as for yourselves, be on your guard: I have forewarned you of everything. | But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. |
Mark 13:24 | But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, | "At that time, however, after that distress, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not shed her light; | But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, |
Mark 13:25 | the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. | the stars will be seen falling from the firmament, and the forces which are in the heavens will be disordered and disturbed. | And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. |
Mark 13:26 | Then will they see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. | And then will they see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. | And then they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. |
Mark 13:27 | Then will he send forth his angels, and will gather together his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky. | Then He will send forth the angels and gather together His chosen People from north, south, east and west, from the remotest parts of the earth and the sky. | And then he will send his angels, and will assemble his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. |

As soon as its branch has become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you know that summer is near. | Now learn a parable of the fig-tree: When its branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: |
Mark 13:29 | even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors. | So also do you, when you see these things happening, be sure that He is near, at your very door. | So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. |
Mark 13:30 | Most assuredly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished. | I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place. | Verily I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be done. |
Mark 13:31 | Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. | Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away. | Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. |
Mark 13:32 | But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but only the Father. | "But as to that day or the exact time no one knows not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. | But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. |
Mark 13:33 | Watch, keep alert, and pray; for you don't know when the time is. | Take care, be on the alert, and pray; for you do not know when it will happen. | Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. |

Mark 13:36 | lest coming suddenly he might find you sleeping. | Beware lest He should arrive unexpectedly and find you asleep. | Lest coming suddenly, he should find you sleeping. |
