1st-Peter 5:1I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.So I exhort the Elders among you I who am their fellow Elder and have been an eye-witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and am also a sharer in the glory which is soon to be revealed.Elders who [are] among you, I exhort, who [am] a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory about to be revealed a partaker,
1st-Peter 5:2Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;Be shepherds of God's flock which is among you. Exercise the oversight not reluctantly but eagerly, in accordance with the will of God; not for base gain but with cheerful minds;feed the flock of God that [is] among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind,
1st-Peter 5:3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.not lording it over your Churches but proving yourselves patterns for the flock to imitate.neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,
1st-Peter 5:4When the chief Shepherd will be revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn't fade away.And then, when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the never-withering wreath of glory.and at the manifestation of the chief Shepherd, ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
1st-Peter 5:5Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."In the same way you younger men must submit to your elders; and all of you must gird yourselves with humility towards one another, for God sets Himself against the proud, but gives grace to the humble.In like manner, ye younger, be subject to elders, and all to one another subjecting yourselves; with humble-mindedness clothe yourselves, because God the proud doth resist, but to the humble He doth give grace;
1st-Peter 5:6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time He may set you on high.be humbled, then, under the powerful hand of God, that you He may exalt in good time,
1st-Peter 5:7casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.all your care having cast upon Him, because He careth for you.
1st-Peter 5:8Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Curb every passion, and be on the alert. Your great accuser, the Devil, is going about like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour.Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,
1st-Peter 5:9Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.Withstand him, firm in your faith; knowing that your brethren in other parts of the world are passing through just the same experiences.whom resist, stedfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings to your brotherhood in the world to be accomplished.
1st-Peter 5:10But may the God of all grace (who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus), after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.And God, the giver of all grace, who has called you to share His eternal glory, through Christ, after you have suffered for a short time, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong.And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you];
1st-Peter 5:11To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.To Him be all power unto the Ages of the Ages! Amen.to Him [is] the glory, and the power to the ages and the ages! Amen.
1st-Peter 5:12Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.I send this short letter by Silas, our faithful brother for such I regard him in order to encourage you, and to bear witness that what I have told you is the true grace of God. In it stand fast.Through Silvanus, to you the faithful brother, as I reckon, through few [words] I did write, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God in which ye have stood.
1st-Peter 5:13She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.The Church in Babylon, chosen like yourselves by God, sends greetings, and so does Mark my son.Salute you doth the [assembly] in Babylon jointly elected, and Markus my son.
1st-Peter 5:14Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.Salute ye one another in a kiss of love; peace to you all who [are] in Christ Jesus! Amen.
