John 2:5His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."His mother said to the attendants, "Whatever he tells you to do, do it."His mother saith to the ministrants, `Whatever he may say to you do.`
John 2:6Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews' manner of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.Now there were six stone jars standing there (in accordance with the Jewish regulations for purification), each large enough to hold twenty gallons or more.And there were there six water-jugs of stone, placed according to the purifying of the Jews, holding each two or three measures.
John 2:7Jesus said to them, "Fill the water pots with water." They filled them up to the brim.Jesus said to the attendants, "Fill the jars with water." And they filled them to the brim.Jesus saith to them, `Fill the water-jugs with water;` and they filled them unto the brim;
John 2:8He said to them, "Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast." They took it.Then He said, "Now, take some out, and carry it to the President of the feast."and he saith to them, `Draw out, now, and bear to the director of the apartment;` and they bare.
John 2:9When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn't know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,So they carried some to him. And no sooner had the President tasted the water now turned into wine, than not knowing where it came from, though the attendants who had drawn the water knew he called to the bridegroomAnd as the director of the apartment tasted the water become wine, and knew not whence it is, (but the ministrants knew, who have drawn the water,) the director of the feast doth call the bridegroom,
John 2:10and said to him, "Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!"and said to him, "It is usual to put on the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then that which is inferior. But you have kept the good wine till now."and saith to him, `Every man, at first, the good wine doth set forth; and when they may have drunk freely, then the inferior; thou didst keep the good wine till now.`
John 2:11This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory. His disciples believed in him.This, the first of His miracles, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee, and thus displayed His glorious power; and His disciples believed in Him.This beginning of the signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him;
John 2:12After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and there they stayed not many days.Afterwards He went down to Capernaum He, and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples; and they made a short stay there.after this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they remained not many days.
John 2:13The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.But the Jewish Passover was approaching, and for this Jesus went up to Jerusalem.And the passover of the Jews was nigh, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
John 2:14He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.And He found in the Temple the dealers in cattle and sheep and in pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there.and he found in the temple those selling oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the money-changers sitting,
John 2:15He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables.So He plaited a whip of rushes, and drove all both sheep and bullocks out of the Temple. The small coin of the brokers He upset on the ground and overturned their tables.and having made a whip of small cords, he put all forth out of the temple, also the sheep, and the oxen; and of the money-changers he poured out the coins, and the tables he overthrew,
John 2:16To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!"And to the pigeon-dealers He said, "Take these things away. Do not turn my Father's house into a market."and to those selling the doves he said, `Take these things hence; make not the house of my Father a house of merchandise.`
John 2:17His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."This recalled to His disciples the words of Scripture, "My zeal for Thy House will consume me."And his disciples remembered that it is written, `The zeal of Thy house did eat me up;`
John 2:18The Jews therefore answered him, "What sign do you show to us, seeing that you do these things?"So the Jews asked Him, "What proof of your authority do you exhibit to us, seeing that you do these things?"the Jews then answered and said to him, `What sign dost thou shew to us that thou dost these things?`
John 2:19Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.""Demolish this Sanctuary," said Jesus, "and in three days I will rebuild it."Jesus answered and said to them, `Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.`
John 2:20The Jews therefore said, "Forty-six years was this temple in building, and will you raise it up in three days?""It has taken forty-six years," replied the Jews, "to build this Sanctuary, and will you rebuild it in three days?"The Jews, therefore, said, `Forty and six years was this sanctuary building, and wilt thou in three days raise it up?`
John 2:21But he spoke of the temple of his body.But He was speaking of the Sanctuary of His body.but he spake concerning the sanctuary of his body;
John 2:22When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.When however He had risen from among the dead, His disciples recollected that He had said this; and they believed the Scripture and the teaching which Jesus had given them.when, then, he was raised out of the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this to them, and they believed the Writing, and the word that Jesus said.
John 2:23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.Now when He was in Jerusalem, at the Festival of the Passover, many became believers in Him through watching the miracles He performed.And as he was in Jerusalem, in the passover, in the feast, many believed in his name, beholding his signs that he was doing;
