| Ezekiel 1:1 | Now it happened in the thirtieth year, in the fourth [month], in the fifth [day] of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. | And it cometh to pass, in the thirtieth year, in the fourth [month], in the fifth of the month, and I [am] in the midst of the Removed by the river Chebar, the heavens have been opened, and I see visions of God. | Now it came about in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, while I was by the river Chebar among those who had been made prisoners, that the heavens were made open and I saw visions of God. |
| Ezekiel 1:2 | In the fifth [day] of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity, | In the fifth of the month it is the fifth year of the removal of the king Jehoiachin | On the fifth day of the month, in the fifth year after King Jehoiachin had been made a prisoner, |
| Ezekiel 1:3 | the word of Yahweh came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Yahweh was there on him. | hath the word of Jehovah certainly been unto Ezekiel son of Buzi the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river Chebar, and there is on him there a hand of Jehovah. | The word of the Lord came to me, Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldaeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was on me there. |
| Ezekiel 1:4 | I looked, and, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness round about it, and out of the midst of it as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire. | And I look, and lo, a tempestuous wind is coming from the north, a great cloud, and fire catching itself, and brightness to it round about, and out of its midst as the colour of copper, out of the midst of the fire. | And, looking, I saw a storm-wind coming out of the north, a great cloud with flames of fire coming after one another, and a bright light shining round about it and in the heart of it was something coloured like electrum. |
| Ezekiel 1:5 | Out of the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. | And out of its midst [is] a likeness of four living creatures, and this [is] their appearance; a likeness of man [is] to them, | And in the heart of it were the forms of four living beings. And this was what they were like; they had the form of a man. |
| Ezekiel 1:6 | Everyone had four faces, and everyone of them had four wings. | and four faces [are] to each, and four wings [are] to each of them, | And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings. |
| Ezekiel 1:7 | Their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot; and they sparkled like burnished brass. | and their feet [are] straight feet, and the sole of their feet [is] as a sole of a calf`s foot, and they are sparkling as the colour of bright brass; | And their feet were straight feet; and the under sides of their feet were like the feet of oxen; and they were shining like polished brass. |
| Ezekiel 1:8 | They had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings [thus]: | and hands of man under their wings on their four sides, and their faces and their wings [are] to them four; | And they had the hands of a man under their wings; the four of them had faces on their four sides. |
| Ezekiel 1:9 | their wings were joined one to another; they didn't turn when they went; they went everyone straight forward. | joining one unto another [are] their wings, they turn not round in their going, each straight forward they go. | They went without turning, every one went straight forward. |
| Ezekiel 1:10 | As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and they four had the face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four had also the face of an eagle. | As to the likeness of their faces, the face of a man, and the face of a lion, toward the right [are] to them four, and the face of an ox on the left [are] to them four, and the face of an eagle [are] to them four. | As for the form of their faces, they had the face of a man, and the four of them had the face of a lion on the right side, and the four of them had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four of them had the face of an eagle. |
| Ezekiel 1:11 | Their faces and their wings were separate above; two [wings] of everyone were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. | And their faces and their wings are separate from above, to each [are] two joining together, and two are covering their bodies. | And their wings were separate at the top; two of the wings of every one were joined one to another, and two were covering their bodies. |
| Ezekiel 1:12 | They went everyone straight forward: where the spirit was to go, they went; they didn't turn when they went. | And each straight forward they go, whither the spirit is to go, they go, they turn not round in their going. | Every one of them went straight forward; wherever the spirit was to go they went; they went on without turning. |
| Ezekiel 1:13 | As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches: [the fire] went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. | As to the likeness of the living creatures, their appearances [are] as coals of fire burning as the appearance of lamps; it is going up and down between the living creatures, and brightness [is] to the fire, and out of the fire is going forth lightning. | And between the living beings it was like burning coals of fire, as if flames were going one after the other between the living beings; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went thunder-flames. |
| Ezekiel 1:14 | The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning. | And the living creatures are running, and turning back, as the appearance of the flash. | And the living beings went out and came back as quickly as a thunder-flame. |
| Ezekiel 1:15 | Now as I saw the living creatures, behold, one wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, for each of the four faces of it. | And I see the living creatures, and lo, one wheel [is] in the earth, near the living creatures, at its four faces. | Now while I was looking at the four living beings, I saw one wheel on the earth, by the side of the living beings, for the four of them. |
| Ezekiel 1:16 | The appearance of the wheels and their work was like a beryl: and they four had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel. | The appearance of the wheels and their works [is] as the colour of beryl, and one likeness [is] to them four, and their appearances and their works [are] as it were the wheel in the midst of the wheel. | The form of the wheels and their work was like a beryl; the four of them had the same form and design, and they were like a wheel inside a wheel. |
| Ezekiel 1:17 | When they went, they went in their four directions: they didn't turn when they went. | On their four sides, in their going they go, they turn not round in their going. | The four of them went straight forward without turning to one side. |
| Ezekiel 1:18 | As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and they four had their rims full of eyes round about. | As to their rings, they are both high and fearful, and their rings [are] full of eyes round about them four. | And I saw that they had edges, and their edges, even of the four, were full of eyes round about. |
| Ezekiel 1:19 | When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. | And in the going of the living creatures, the wheels go beside them, and in the living creatures being lifted up from off the earth, lifted up are the wheels. | And when the living beings went on, the wheels went by their side; and when the living beings were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. |
| Ezekiel 1:20 | Wherever the spirit was to go, they went; there was the spirit to go: and the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. | Whither the spirit is to go, they go, thither the spirit [is] to go, and the wheels are lifted up over-against them, for a living spirit [is] in the wheels. | Wherever the spirit was to go they went; and the wheels were lifted up by their side: for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. |

| Ezekiel 1:22 | Over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like the awesome crystal to look on, stretched forth over their heads above. | And a likeness [is] over the heads of the living creatures of an expanse, as the colour of the fearful ice, stretched out over their heads from above. | And over the heads of the living beings there was the form of an arch, looking like ice, stretched out over their heads on high. |
| Ezekiel 1:23 | Under the expanse were their wings straight, the one toward the other: everyone had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies. | And under the expanse their wings [are] straight, one toward the other, to each are two covering on this side, and to each are two covering on that side their bodies. | Under the arch their wings were straight, one stretched out to another: every one had two wings covering their bodies on this side and two covering their bodies on that side. |
| Ezekiel 1:24 | When they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of a host: when they stood, they let down their wings. | And I hear the noise of their wings, as the noise of many waters, as the noise of the Mighty One, in their going the noise of tumult, as the noise of a camp, in their standing they let fall their wings. | And when they went, the sound of their wings was like the sound of great waters to my ears, like the voice of the Ruler of all, a sound like the rushing of an army: when they came to rest they let down their wings. |
| Ezekiel 1:25 | There was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads: when they stood, they let down their wings. | And there is a voice from above the expanse, that [is] above their head: in their standing they let fall their wings. | And there was a voice from the top of the arch which was over their heads: when they came to rest they let down their wings. |
| Ezekiel 1:26 | Above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man on it above. | And above the expanse that [is] over their head, as an appearance of a sapphire stone, [is] the likeness of a throne, and on the likeness of the throne a likeness, as the appearance of man upon it from above. | And on the top of the arch which was over their heads was the form of a king's seat, like a sapphire stone; and on the form of the seat was the form of a man seated on it on high. |
| Ezekiel 1:27 | I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him. | And I see as the colour of copper, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward, and from the appearance of his loins and downward, I have seen as the appearance of fire, and brightness [is] to it round about. | And I saw it coloured like electrum, with the look of fire in it and round it, going up from what seemed to be the middle of his body; and going down from what seemed to be the middle of his body I saw what was like fire, and there was a bright light shining round him. |
| Ezekiel 1:28 | As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Yahweh. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke. | As the appearance of the bow that is in a cloud in a day of rain, so [is] the appearance of the brightness round about. | Like the bow in the cloud on a day of rain, so was the light shining round him. And this is what the glory of the Lord was like. And when I saw it I went down on my face, and the voice of one talking came to my ears. |
