Philemon 1:1Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow-laborer,
Philemon 1:2to the beloved Apphia, to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the assembly in your house:and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in thy house:And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in thy house:
Philemon 1:3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philemon 1:4I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,I give thanks to my God, always making mention of thee in my prayers,I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
Philemon 1:5hearing of your love, and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints;hearing of thy love and faith that thou hast unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus, and towards all saints;
Philemon 1:6that the fellowship of your faith may become effective, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in us, in Christ Jesus.that the fellowship of thy faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that [is] in you toward Christ Jesus;That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Philemon 1:7For we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.for we have much joy and comfort in thy love, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.
Philemon 1:8Therefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,Wherefore, having in Christ much boldness to command thee that which is fitWherefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient.
Philemon 1:9yet for love's sake I rather beg, being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus.because of the love I rather entreat, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
Philemon 1:10I beg you for my child, whom I have fathered in my bonds, Onesimus,I entreat thee concerning my child whom I did beget in my bonds Onesimus,I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
Philemon 1:11who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me;who once was to thee unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to thee,Who in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:
Philemon 1:12I am sending him back. You therefore receive him, that is, my own heart,whom I did send again, and thou him (that is, my own bowels) receive,Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, my own bowels:
Philemon 1:13whom I wanted to keep with me, that in your behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the gospel.whom I did wish to retain to myself, that in thy behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the good news,Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bonds of the gospel:
Philemon 1:14But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.and apart from thy mind I willed to do nothing, that as of necessity thy good deed may not be, but of willingness,But without thy mind I would do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
Philemon 1:15For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while, that you would have him forever,for perhaps because of this he did depart for an hour, that age-duringly thou mayest have him,For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldst receive him for ever;
Philemon 1:16no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, specially to me, but how much rather to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.no more as a servant, but above a servant a brother beloved, especially to me, and how much more to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord!Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more to thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
Philemon 1:17If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.If, then, with me thou hast fellowship, receive him as me,If thou accountest me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
Philemon 1:18But if he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, put that to my account.and if he did hurt to thee, or doth owe anything, this to me be reckoning;If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee aught, put that on my account;
Philemon 1:19I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (not to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self besides).I, Paul did write with my hand, I I will repay; that I may not say that also thyself, besides, to me thou dost owe.I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it: although I do not say to thee that thou owest to me even thy own self besides.
Philemon 1:20Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in the Lord.Yes, brother, may I have profit of thee in the Lord; refresh my bowels in the Lord;Yes, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
Philemon 1:21Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.having been confident in thy obedience I did write to thee, having known that also above what I may say thou wilt do;Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote to thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
Philemon 1:22Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you.and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.But at the same time prepare me also a lodging; for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given to you.
Philemon 1:23Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you,Salute thee doth Epaphras, (my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus,)There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus;
Philemon 1:24as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow-laborers.
Philemon 1:25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit! Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
