Luke 21:1He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.And having looked up, he saw those who did cast their gifts to the treasury rich men,Looking up He saw the people throwing their gifts into the Treasury the rich people.
Luke 21:2He saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta.and he saw also a certain poor widow casting there two mites,He also saw a poor widow dropping in two farthings,
Luke 21:3He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,and he said, `Truly I say to you, that this poor widow did cast in more than all;and He said, "In truth I tell you that this widow, so poor, has thrown in more than any of them.
Luke 21:4for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her lack, put in all that she had to live on."for all these out of their superabundance did cast into the gifts to God, but this one out of her want, all the living that she had, did cast in.`For from what they could well spare they have all of them contributed to the offerings, but she in her need has thrown in all she had to live on."
Luke 21:5As some were talking about the temple and how it was decorated with beautiful stones and gifts, he said,And certain saying about the temple, that with goodly stones and devoted things it hath been adorned, he said,When some were remarking about the Temple, how it was embellished with beautiful stones and dedicated gifts, He said,
Luke 21:6"As for these things which you see, the days will come, in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down."`These things that ye behold days will come, in which there shall not be left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.`"As to these things which you now admire, the time is coming when there will not be one stone left here upon another which will not be pulled down."
Luke 21:7They asked him, "Teacher, when therefore will these things be? What is the sign that these things are about to happen?"And they questioned him, saying, `Teacher, when, then, shall these things be? and what [is] the sign when these things may be about to happen?`"Rabbi, when will this be?" they asked Him, "and what will be the token given when these things are about to take place?"
Luke 21:8He said, "Watch out that you don't get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, 'I AM,' and, 'The time is at hand.' Therefore don't follow them.And he said, `See ye may not be led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying I am [he], and the time hath come nigh; go not on then after them;"See to it," He replied, "that you are not misled; for many will come assuming my name and professing, `I am He,' or saying, `The time is close at hand.' Do not go and follow them.
Luke 21:9When you hear of wars and disturbances, don't be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won't come immediately."and when ye may hear of wars and uprisings, be not terrified, for it behoveth these things to happen first, but the end [is] not immediately.`But when you hear of wars and turmoils, be not afraid; for these things must happen first, but the end does not come immediately."
Luke 21:10Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.Then said he to them, `Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,Then He said to them, "Nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
Luke 21:11There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.great shakings also in every place, and famines, and pestilences, there shall be; fearful things also, and great signs from heaven there shall be;And there will be great earthquakes, and in places famines and pestilence; and there will be terrible sights and wonderful tokens from Heaven.
Luke 21:12But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.and before all these, they shall lay on you their hands, and persecute, delivering up to synagogues and prisons, being brought before kings and governors for my name`s sake;"But before all these things happen they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you up to synagogues and to prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my sake.
Luke 21:13It will turn out as a testimony to you.and it shall become to you for a testimony.In the end all this will be evidence of your fidelity.
Luke 21:14Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer,`Settle, then, to your hearts, not to meditate beforehand to reply,"Make up your minds, however, not to prepare a defence beforehand,
Luke 21:15for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict.for I will give to you a mouth and wisdom that all your opposers shall not be able to refute or resist.for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to withstand or reply to.
Luke 21:16But you will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. Some of you will they cause to be put to death.`And ye shall be delivered up also by parents, and brothers, and kindred, and friends, and they shall put of you to death;You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, friends; and some of you they will put to death.
Luke 21:17You will be hated by all men for my name's sake.and ye shall be hated by all because of my nameYou will be the objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name;
Luke 21:18Not a hair of your head will perish.and a hair out of your head shall not perish;and yet not a hair of your heads shall perish.
Luke 21:19By your endurance you will win your souls.in your patience possess ye your souls.By your patient endurance you will purchase your lives.
Luke 21:20"But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.`And when ye may see Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then know that come nigh did her desolation;"But when you see Jerusalem with armies encamping round her on every side, then be certain that her overthrow is close at hand.
Luke 21:21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let them who are in the midst of her depart. Don't let those who are in the country enter therein.then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart out; and those in the countries, let them not come in to her;Then let those who shall be in Judaea escape to the hills; let those who are in the city leave it, and those who are in the country not enter in.
Luke 21:22For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.because these are days of vengeance, to fulfil all things that have been written.For those are the days of vengeance and of fulfilling all that is written.
Luke 21:23Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.`And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck, in those days; for there shall be great distress on the land, and wrath on this people;"Alas for the women who at that time are with child or who have infants; for there will be great distress in the land, and anger towards this People.
Luke 21:24They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.and they shall fall by the mouth of the sword, and shall be led captive to all the nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by nations, till the times of nations be fulfilled.They will fall by the sword, or be carried off into slavery among all the Gentiles. And Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles, till the appointed times of the Gentiles have expired.
Luke 21:25There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;`And there shall be signs in sun, and moon, and stars, and on the land [is] distress of nations with perplexity, sea and billow roaring;"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on earth anguish among the nations in their bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its billows;
Luke 21:26men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.men fainting at heart from fear, and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.while men's hearts are fainting for fear, and for anxious expectation of what is coming on the world. For the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.
Luke 21:27Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.`And then they shall see the Son of Man, coming in a cloud, with power and much glory;And then will they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory.
Luke 21:28But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near."and these things beginning to happen bend yourselves back, and lift up your heads, because your redemption doth draw nigh.`But when all this is beginning to take place, grieve no longer. Lift up your heads, because your deliverance is drawing near."
Luke 21:29He told them a parable. "See the fig tree, and all the trees.And he spake a simile to them: `See the fig-tree, and all the trees,And He spoke a parable to them. "See," He said, "the fig-tree and all the trees.
Luke 21:30When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.when they may now cast forth, having seen, of yourselves ye know that now is the summer nigh;As soon as they have shot out their leaves, you know at a glance that summer is now near.
Luke 21:31Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.so also ye, when ye may see these things happening, ye know that near is the reign of God;So also, when you see these things happening, you may be sure that the Kingdom of God is near.
Luke 21:32Most assuredly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.verily I say to you This generation may not pass away till all may have come to pass;I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.
Luke 21:33Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.the heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words may not pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.
Luke 21:34"So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.`And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts may be weighed down with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day may come on you,"But take heed to yourselves, lest your souls be weighed down with self-indulgence and drunkenness or the anxieties of this life, and that day come upon you, suddenly, like a falling trap;
Luke 21:35For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.for as a snare it shall come on all those dwelling on the face of all the land,for it will come on all dwellers on the face of the whole earth.
Luke 21:36Therefore be watchful all the time, asking that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."watch ye, then, in every season, praying that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.`But beware of slumbering; and every moment pray that you may be fully strengthened to escape from all these coming evils, and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man."
Luke 21:37Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple, and every night he went out, and spent the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.And he was during the days in the temple teaching, and during the nights, going forth, he was lodging at the mount called of Olives;His habit at this time was to teach in the Temple by day, but to go out and spend the night on the Mount called the Oliveyard.
Luke 21:38All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.and all the people were coming early unto him in the temple to hear him.And all the people came to Him in the Temple, early in the morning, to listen to Him.
