Matthew 28:1Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,After the Sabbath, in the early dawn of the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary came to see the sepulchre.
Matthew 28:2Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it.and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,But to their amazement there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord had descended from Heaven, and had come and rolled back the stone, and was sitting upon it.
Matthew 28:3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.
Matthew 28:4For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.For fear of him the guards trembled violently, and became like dead men.
Matthew 28:5The angel answered the women, "Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;But the angel said to the women, "As for you, dismiss your fears. I know that it is Jesus that you are looking for the crucified One.
Matthew 28:6He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;He is not here: He has come back to life, as He foretold. Come and see the place where He lay.
Matthew 28:7Go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.' Behold, I have told you."and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.`And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead and is going before you into Galilee: there you shall see Him. Remember, I have told you."
Matthew 28:8They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;They quickly left the tomb and ran, still terrified but full of unspeakable joy, to carry the news to His disciples.
Matthew 28:9As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!` and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.And then suddenly they saw Jesus coming to meet them. "Peace be to you," He said. And they came and clasped His feet, bowing to the ground before Him.
Matthew 28:10Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid. Go tell my brothers that they may go into Galilee, and there they will see me."Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.`Then He said, "Dismiss all fear! Go and take word to my brethren to go into Galilee, and there they shall see me."
Matthew 28:11Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,While they went on this errand, some of the guards came into the city and reported to the High Priests every detail of what had happened.
Matthew 28:12When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,So the latter held a conference with the Elders, and after consultation with them they heavily bribed the soldiers,
Matthew 28:13saying, "Say that his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him we being asleep;telling them to say, "His disciples came during the night and stole his body while we were asleep."
Matthew 28:14If this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry."and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.`"And if this," they added, "is reported to the Governor, we will satisfy him and screen you from punishment."
Matthew 28:15So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continues until this day.And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this story was noised about among the Jews, and is current to this day.
Matthew 28:16But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,As for the eleven disciples, they proceeded into Galilee, to the hill where Jesus had arranged to meet them.
Matthew 28:17When they saw him, they bowed down to him, but some doubted.and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.There they saw Him and prostrated themselves before Him. Yet some doubted.
Matthew 28:18Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;Jesus however came near and said to them, "All power in Heaven and over the earth has been given to me.
Matthew 28:19Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations; baptize them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;
Matthew 28:20teaching them to observe all things which I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days till the full end of the age.`and teach them to obey every command which I have given you. And remember, I am with you always, day by day, until the Close of the Age."
