Hebrews 10:1For the law having a shadow of the coming good things not the very image of the matters, every year, by the same sacrifices that they offer continually, is never able to make perfect those coming near,For the law, being only a poor copy of the future good things, and not the true image of those things, is never able to make the people who come to the altar every year with the same offerings completely clean.For the law having a shadow of the good [things] to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.
Hebrews 10:2since, would they not have ceased to be offered, because of those serving having no more conscience of sins, having once been purified?For if this had been possible, would there not have been an end of those offerings, because the worshippers would have been made completely clean and would have been no longer conscious of sins?Else would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.
Hebrews 10:3but in those [sacrifices] is a remembrance of sins every year,But year by year there is a memory of sins in those offerings.But in those [sacrifices] there is a remembrance made of sins year by year.
Hebrews 10:4for it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.Because it is not possible for the blood of oxen and goats to take away sins.For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Hebrews 10:5Wherefore, coming into the world, he saith, `Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not will, and a body Thou didst prepare for me,So that when he comes into the world, he says, You had no desire for offerings, but you made a body ready for me;Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;
Hebrews 10:6in burnt-offerings, and concerning sin-offerings, Thou didst not delight,You had no joy in burned offerings or in offerings for sin.In whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hadst no pleasure:
Hebrews 10:7then I said, Lo, I come, (in a volume of the book it hath been written concerning me,) to do, O God, Thy will;`Then I said, See, I have come to do your pleasure, O God (as it is said of me in the roll of the book).Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.
Hebrews 10:8saying above `Sacrifice, and offering, and burnt-offerings, and concerning sin-offering Thou didst not will, nor delight in,` which according to the law are offeredAfter saying, You had no desire for offerings, for burned offerings or offerings for sin (which are made by the law) and you had no pleasure in them,Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law),
Hebrews 10:9then he said, `Lo, I come to do, O God, Thy will;` he doth take away the first that the second he may establish;Then he said, See, I have come to do your pleasure. He took away the old order, so that he might put the new order in its place.then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Hebrews 10:10in the which will we are having been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once,By that pleasure we have been made holy, by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for ever.By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:11and every priest, indeed, hath stood daily serving, and the same sacrifices many times offering, that are never able to take away sins.And every priest takes his place at the altar day by day, doing what is necessary, and making again and again the same offerings which are never able to take away sins.And every priest indeed standeth day by day ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, the which can never take away sins:
Hebrews 10:12And He, for sin one sacrifice having offered to the end, did sit down on the right hand of God,But when Jesus had made one offering for sins for ever, he took his place at the right hand of God;but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Hebrews 10:13as to the rest, expecting till He may place his enemies [as] his footstool,And has been waiting there from that time, till all who are against him are made a foot-rest for his feet.henceforth expecting till his enemies be made the footstool of his feet.
Hebrews 10:14for by one offering he hath perfected to the end those sanctified;Because by one offering he has made complete for ever those who are made holy.For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Hebrews 10:15and testify to us also doth the Holy Spirit, for after that He hath said before,And the Holy Spirit is a witness for us: for after he had said,And the Holy Spirit also beareth witness to us; for after he hath said,
Hebrews 10:16`This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, giving My laws on their hearts, and upon their minds I will write them,`This is the agreement which I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws in their hearts, writing them in their minds; he said,This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; [then saith he,]
Hebrews 10:17and `their sins and their lawlessness I will remember no more;`And I will keep no more memory of their sins and of their evil-doings.And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:18and where forgiveness of these [is], there is no more offering for sin.Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no more offering for sin.Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Hebrews 10:19Having, therefore, brethren, boldness for the entrance into the holy places, in the blood of Jesus,So then, my brothers, being able to go into the holy place without fear, because of the blood of Jesus,Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:20which way he did initiate for us new and living, through the vail, that is, his fleshBy the new and living way which he made open for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Hebrews 10:21and a high priest over the house of God,And having a great priest over the house of God,and [having] a great priest over the house of God;
Hebrews 10:22may we draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having the hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having the body bathed with pure water;Let us go in with true hearts, in certain faith, having our hearts made free from the sense of sin and our bodies washed with clean water:let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience: and having our body washed with pure water,
Hebrews 10:23may we hold fast the unwavering profession of the hope, (for faithful [is] He who did promise),Let us keep the witness of our hope strong and unshaking, for he is true who has given his word:let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:
Hebrews 10:24and may we consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,And let us be moving one another at all times to love and good works;and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works;
Hebrews 10:25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as a custom of certain [is], but exhorting, and so much the more as ye see the day coming nigh.Not giving up our meetings, as is the way of some, but keeping one another strong in faith; and all the more because you see the day coming near.not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting [one another]; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
Hebrews 10:26For we willfully sinning after the receiving the full knowledge of the truth no more for sins doth there remain a sacrifice,For if we do evil on purpose after we have had the knowledge of what is true, there is no more offering for sins,For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins,
Hebrews 10:27but a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery zeal, about to devour the opposers;But only a great fear of being judged, and of the fire of wrath which will be the destruction of the haters of God.but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:28any one who did set at nought a law of Moses, apart from mercies, by two or three witnesses, doth die,A man who has gone against the law of Moses is put to death without pity on the word of two or three witnesses:A man that hath set at nought Moses law dieth without compassion on [the word of] two or three witnesses:
Hebrews 10:29of how much sorer punishment shall he be counted worthy who the Son of God did trample on, and the blood of the covenant did count a common thing, in which he was sanctified, and to the Spirit of the grace did despite?But will not the man by whom the Son of God has been crushed under foot, and the blood of the agreement with which he was washed clean has been taken as an unholy thing, and who has had no respect for the Spirit of grace, be judged bad enough for a very much worse punishment?of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:30for we have known Him who is saying, `Vengeance [is] Mine, I will recompense, saith the Lord;` and again, `The Lord shall judge His people;`For we have had experience of him who says, Punishment is mine, I will give reward. And again, The Lord will be judge of his people.For we know him that said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
Hebrews 10:31fearful [is] the falling into the hands of a living God.We may well go in fear of falling into the hands of the living God.It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:32And call to your remembrance the former days, in which, having been enlightened, ye did endure much conflict of sufferings,But give thought to the days after you had seen the light, when you went through a great war of troubles;But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were enlightened, ye endured a great conflict of sufferings;
Hebrews 10:33partly both with reproaches and tribulations being made spectacles, and partly having become partners of those so living,In part, in being attacked by angry words and cruel acts, before the eyes of everyone, and in part, in being united with those who were attacked in this way.partly, being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, becoming partakers with them that were so used.
Hebrews 10:34for also with my bonds ye sympathised, and the robbery of your goods with joy ye did receive, knowing that ye have in yourselves a better substance in the heavens, and an enduring one.For you had pity on those who were in prison, and had joy in the loss of your property, in the knowledge that you still had a better property and one which you would keep for ever.For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of you possessions, knowing that ye have for yourselves a better possession and an abiding one.
Hebrews 10:35Ye may not cast away, then, your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward,So do not give up your hope which will be greatly rewarded.Cast not away therefore your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward.
Hebrews 10:36for of patience ye have need, that the will of God having done, ye may receive the promise,For, having done what was right in God's eyes, you have need of waiting before his word has effect for you.For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:37for yet a very very little, He who is coming will come, and will not tarry;In a very little time he who is coming will come; he will not be slow.For yet a very little while, He that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry.
Hebrews 10:38and `the righteous by faith shall live,` and `if he may draw back, My soul hath no pleasure in him,`But the upright man will be living by his faith; and if he goes back, my soul will have no pleasure in him.But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:39and we are not of those drawing back to destruction, but of those believing to a preserving of soul.But we are not of those who go back to destruction; but of those who have faith even to the salvation of the soul.But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition; but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.
