| Ezekiel 28:1 | And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying: | The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| Ezekiel 28:2 | `Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart hath been high, And thou dost say: A god I [am], The habitation of God I have inhabited, In the heart of the seas, And thou [art] man, and not God, And thou givest out thy heart as the heart of God, | Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, This is what the Lord has said: Because your heart has been lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I am seated on the seat of God in the heart of the seas; but you are man and not God, though you have made your heart as the heart of God: | Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a ùgod, I sit [in] the seat of God, in the heart of the seas, (and thou art a man, and not ùGod,) and thou settest thy heart as the heart of God: |
| Ezekiel 28:3 | Lo, thou [art] wiser than Daniel, No hidden thing have they concealed from thee. | See, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret which is deeper than your knowledge: | behold, thou art wiser than Daniel! nothing secret is obscure for thee; |
| Ezekiel 28:4 | By thy wisdom and by thine understanding Thou hast made for thee wealth, And makest gold and silver in thy treasuries. | By your wisdom and deep knowledge you have got power for yourself, and put silver and gold in your store-houses: | by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures; |
| Ezekiel 28:5 | By the abundance of thy wisdom, Through thy merchandise, Thou hast multiplied thy wealth, And high is thy heart through thy wealth. | By your great wisdom and by your trade your power is increased, and your heart is lifted up because of your power: | by thy great wisdom thou hast by thy traffic increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches. |
| Ezekiel 28:6 | Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of thy giving out thy heart as the heart of God, | For this cause the Lord has said: Because you have made your heart as the heart of God, | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God, |
| Ezekiel 28:7 | Therefore, lo, I am bringing in against thee strangers, The terrible of the nations, And they have drawn out their swords Against the beauty of thy wisdom, And they have pierced thy brightness. | See, I am sending against you strange men, feared among the nations: they will let loose their swords against your bright wisdom, they will make your glory a common thing. | therefore behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall tarnish thy brightness. |
| Ezekiel 28:8 | To destruction they bring thee down, Thou diest by the deaths of the wounded, in the heart of the seas. | They will send you down to the underworld, and your death will be the death of those who are put to the sword in the heart of the seas. | They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of those that are slain in the heart of the seas. |
| Ezekiel 28:9 | Dost thou really say, `I [am] God,` Before him who is slaying thee? And thou [art] man, and not God, In the hand of him who is piercing thee. | Will you say, in the face of those who are taking your life, I am God? but you are man and not God in the hands of those who are wounding you. | Wilt thou then say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and not ùGod, in the hand of him that pierceth thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:10 | The deaths of the uncircumcised thou diest, By the hand of strangers, for I have spoken, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.` | Your death will be the death of those who are without circumcision, by the hands of men from strange lands: for I have said it, says the Lord. | Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised, by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord Jehovah. |

| Ezekiel 28:12 | `Son of man, lift up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, And thou hast said to him: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Thou art sealing up a measurement, Full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. | Son of man, make a song of grief for the king of Tyre, and say to him, This is what the Lord has said: You are all-wise and completely beautiful; | Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, who sealest up the measure of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty, |
| Ezekiel 28:13 | In Eden, the garden of God, thou hast been, Every precious stone thy covering, Ruby, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle, and gold, The workmanship of thy tabrets, and of thy pipes, In thee in the day of thy being produced, have been prepared. | You were in Eden, the garden of God; every stone of great price was your clothing, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the emerald and the carbuncle: your store-houses were full of gold, and things of great price were in you; in the day when you were made they were got ready. | thou wast in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the chrysolite, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the carbuncle, and the emerald, and gold. The workmanship of thy tambours and of thy pipes was in thee: in the day that thou wast created were they prepared. |
| Ezekiel 28:14 | Thou [art] an anointed cherub who is covering, And I have set thee in the holy mount, God thou hast been, In the midst of stones of fire thou hast walked up and down. | I gave you your place with the winged one; I put you on the mountain of God; you went up and down among the stones of fire. | Thou wast the anointed covering cherub, and I had set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou didst walk up and down in the midst of stones of fire. |
| Ezekiel 28:15 | Perfect [art] thou in thy ways, From the day of thy being produced, Till perversity hath been found in thee. | There has been no evil in your ways from the day when you were made, till sin was seen in you. | Thou wast perfect in thy ways, from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:16 | By the abundance of thy merchandise They have filled thy midst with violence, And thou dost sin, And I thrust thee from the mount of God, And I destroy thee, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire. | Through all your trading you have become full of violent ways, and have done evil: so I sent you out shamed from the mountain of God; the winged one put an end to you from among the stones of fire. | By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned; therefore have I cast thee as profane from the mountain of God, and have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. |
| Ezekiel 28:17 | High hath been thy heart, because of thy beauty, Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom because of thy brightness, On the earth I have cast thee, Before kings I have set thee, to look on thee, | Your heart was lifted up because you were beautiful, you made your wisdom evil through your sin: I have sent you down, even to the earth; I have made you low before kings, so that they may see you. | Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:18 | From the abundance of thy iniquity, By the perversity of thy traffic, Thou hast polluted thy sanctuaries, And I bring forth fire from thy midst, It hath devoured thee, And I make thee become ashes on the earth, Before the eyes of all beholding thee. | By all your sin, even by your evil trading, you have made your holy places unclean; so I will make a fire come out from you, it will make a meal of you, and I will make you as dust on the earth before the eyes of all who see you. | By the multitude of thine iniquities, by the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries: and I have brought forth a fire out of the midst of thee it hath consumed thee; and I have brought thee to ashes upon the earth, in the sight of all them that behold thee. |
| Ezekiel 28:19 | All knowing thee among the peoples Have been astonished at thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not to the age.` | All who have knowledge of you among the peoples will be overcome with wonder at you: you have become a thing of fear, and you will never be seen again. | All they that know thee among the peoples shall be amazed at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more. |

| Ezekiel 28:21 | `Son of man, set thy face unto Zidon, and prophesy concerning it; | Son of man, let your face be turned to Zidon, and be a prophet against it, and say, | Son of man, set thy face towards Zidon, and prophesy against it, |
| Ezekiel 28:22 | and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, O Zidon, And I have been honoured in thy midst, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah, In My doing in her judgments, And I have been sanctified in her. | These are the words of the Lord: See, I am against you, O Zidon; and I will get glory for myself in you: and they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I send my punishments on her, and I will be seen to be holy in her. | and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Zidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be hallowed in her. |
| Ezekiel 28:23 | And I have sent into her pestilence, And blood into her out-places, The wounded hath been judged in her midst, By the sword upon her round about, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah. | And I will send on her disease and blood in her streets; and the wounded will be falling in the middle of her, and the sword will be against her on every side; and they will be certain that I am the Lord. | And I will send into her the pestilence, and blood in her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, by the sword upon her on every side: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah. |
| Ezekiel 28:24 | And there is no more to the house of Israel A pricking brier, and paining thorn, Of all round about them despising them, And they have known that I [am] the Lord Jehovah. | And there will no longer be a plant with sharp points wounding the children of Israel, or a thorn troubling them among any who are round about them, who put shame on them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord. | And there shall be no more a wounding sting for the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn, among all that were round about them, that despised them: and they shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah. |
| Ezekiel 28:25 | Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In My gathering the house of Israel, Out of the peoples among whom they were scattered, I have been sanctified in them, Before the eyes of the nations, And they have dwelt on their ground, That I gave to My servant, to Jacob, | This is what the Lord has said: When I have got together the children of Israel from the peoples among whom they are wandering, and have been made holy among them before the eyes of the nations, then they will have rest in the land which is theirs, which I gave to my servant Jacob | Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be hallowed in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land which I have given to my servant Jacob. |
| Ezekiel 28:26 | And they have dwelt on it confidently, And builded houses, and planted vineyards, And dwelt confidently in My doing judgments, On all those despising them round about, And they have known that I, Jehovah, [am] their God!` | And they will be safe there, building houses and planting vine-gardens and living without fear; when I have sent my punishments on all those who put shame on them round about them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord their God. | They shall dwell in it in safety, and shall build houses and plant vineyards; and they shall dwell in safety, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despised them round about them: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah their God. |
