Matthew 28:1And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,Now late on the Sabbath, when the dawn of the first day of the week was near, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the place where his body was.Now late on sabbath, as it was the dusk of the next day after sabbath, came Mary of Magdala and the other Mary to look at the sepulchre.
Matthew 28:2and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,And there was a great earth-shock; for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, rolling back the stone, took his seat on it.And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of [the] Lord, descending out of heaven, came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
Matthew 28:3and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,His form was shining like the light, and his clothing was white as snow:And his look was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
Matthew 28:4and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.And for fear of him the watchmen were shaking, and became as dead men.And for fear of him the guards trembled and became as dead men.
Matthew 28:5And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;And the angel said to the women, Have no fear: for I see that you are searching for Jesus, who was put to death on the cross.And the angel answering said to the women, Fear not *ye*, for I know that ye seek Jesus the crucified one.
Matthew 28:6he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;He is not here, for he has come to life again, even as he said. Come, see the Lord's resting-place.He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:7and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.`And go quickly and give his disciples the news that he has come back from the dead, and is going before you into Galilee; there you will see him, as I have said to you.And go quickly and say to his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and behold, he goes before you into Galilee, there shall ye see him. Behold, I have told you.
Matthew 28:8And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;And they went away quickly, with fear and great joy, to give his disciples the news.And going out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to bring his disciples word.
Matthew 28:9and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!` and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.And on the way, Jesus came to them, saying, Be glad. And they came and put their hands on his feet, and gave him worship.And as they went to bring his disciples word, behold also, Jesus met them, saying, Hail! And they coming up took him by the feet, and did him homage.
Matthew 28:10Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.`Then said Jesus to them, Have no fear: go and give word to my brothers to go into Galilee, and there they will see me.Then Jesus says to them, Fear not; go, bring word to my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there they shall see me.
Matthew 28:11And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,Now, while they were going, some of the watchmen came into the town and gave news to the chief priests of all the things which had taken place.And as they went, behold, some of the watch went into the city, and brought word to the chief priests of all that had taken place.
Matthew 28:12and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,And when they had come together with those in authority, and had made their decision, they gave much money to the watchmen, saying,And having assembled with the elders, and having taken counsel, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,
Matthew 28:13saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him we being asleep;Say, His disciples came by night and took him away secretly while we were sleeping.saying, Say that his disciples coming by night stole him [while] we [were] sleeping.
Matthew 28:14and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.`And if this comes to the ruler's ears, we will see that he does not make you responsible.And if this should come to the hearing of the governor, *we* will persuade him, and save *you* from all anxiety.
Matthew 28:15And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.So they took the money, and did as they had been ordered: and this account has been current among the Jews till the present time.And they took the money and did as they had been taught. And this report is current among the Jews until this day.
Matthew 28:16And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had given them orders to go.But the eleven disciples went into Galilee to the mountain which Jesus had appointed them.
Matthew 28:17and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.And when they saw him they gave him worship: but some were in doubt.And when they saw him, they did homage to him: but some doubted.
Matthew 28:18And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;And Jesus came to them and said, All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.And Jesus coming up spoke to them, saying, All power has been given me in heaven and upon earth.
Matthew 28:19having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,Go then, and make disciples of all the nations, giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:Go [therefore] and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;
Matthew 28:20teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days till the full end of the age.`Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you: and see, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world.teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, *I* am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.
