Genesis 14:1 | And it cometh to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goyim, | Now in the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar, Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim, | And it came to pass at that time, that Amraphel king of Sennaar, and Arioch king of Pontus, and Chodorlahomor king of the Elamites, and Thadal king of nations, |
Genesis 14:2 | they have made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which [is] Zoar. | They made war with Bera, king of Sodom, and with Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, and Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (which is Zoar). | Made war against Bara king of Sodom, and against Bersa king of Gomorrha, and against Sennaab king of Adama, and against Semeber king of Seboim, and against the king of Bala, which is Segor. |
Genesis 14:3 | All these have been joined together unto the valley of Siddim, which [is] the Salt Sea; | All these came together in the valley of Siddim (which is the Salt Sea). | All these came together into the woodland vale, which now is the salt sea. |
Genesis 14:4 | twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and the thirteenth year they rebelled. | For twelve years they were under the rule of Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they put off his control. | For they had served Chodorlahomor twelve years, and in the thirteenth year they revolted from him. |
Genesis 14:5 | And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings who [are] with him, and they smite the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim, | And in the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer and the kings who were on his side, overcame the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in Shaveh-kiriathaim, | And in the fourteenth year came Chodorlahomor, and the kings that were with him: and they smote the Raphaim in Astarothcarnaim, and the Zuzim with them, and the Emim in Save of Cariathaim. |
Genesis 14:6 | and the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-Paran, which [is] by the wilderness; | And the Horites in their mountain Seir, driving them as far as El-paran, which is near the waste land. | And the Chorreans in the mountains of Seir, even to the plains of Pharan, which is in the wilderness. |
Genesis 14:7 | and they turn back and come in unto En-Mishpat, which [is] Kadesh, and smite the whole field of the Amalekite, and also the Amorite who is dwelling in Hazezon-Tamar. | Then they came back to En-mishpat (which is Kadesh), making waste all the country of the Amalekites and of the Amorites living in Hazazon-tamar. | And they returned, and came to the fountain of Misphat, the same is Cades: and they smote all the country of the Amalecites, and the Amorrhean that dwelt in Asasonthamar. |
Genesis 14:8 | And the king of Sodom goeth out, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which [is] Zoar; and they set the battle in array with them in the valley of Siddim, | And the king of Sodom with the king of Gomorrah and the king of Admah and the king of Zeboiim and the king of Bela (that is Zoar), went out, and put their forces in position in the valley of Siddim, | And the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrha, and the king of Adama, and the king of Seboim, and the king of Bala, which is Segor, went out: and they set themselves against them in battle array in the woodland vale: |

Genesis 14:10 | And the valley of Siddim [is] full of bitumen-pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah flee, and fall there, and those left have fled to the mountain. | Now the valley of Siddim was full of holes of sticky earth; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah were put to flight and came to their end there, but the rest got away to the mountain. | Now the woodland vale had many pits of slime. And the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrha turned their backs and were overthrown there: and they that remained fled to the mountain. |
Genesis 14:11 | And they take the whole substance of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the whole of their food, and go away; | And the four kings took all the goods and food from Sodom and Gomorrah and went on their way. | And they took all the substance of the Sodomites, and Gomorrhites, and all their victuals, and went their way: |
Genesis 14:12 | and they take Lot, Abram`s brother`s son (seeing he is dwelling in Sodom), and his substance, and go away. | And in addition they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who was living in Sodom, and all his goods. | And Lot also, the son of Abram's brother, who dwelt in Sodom, and his substance. |
Genesis 14:13 | And one who is escaping cometh and declareth to Abram the Hebrew, and he is dwelling among the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner, and they [are] Abram`s allies. | And one who had got away from the fight came and gave word of it to Abram the Hebrew, who was living by the holy tree of Mamre, the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and Aner, who were friends of Abram. | And behold one that had escaped told Abram the Hebrew, who dwelt in the vale of Mambre the Amorrhite, the brother of Escol, and the brother of Aner: for these had made league with Abram. |
Genesis 14:14 | And Abram heareth that his brother hath been taken captive, and he draweth out his trained domestics, three hundred and eighteen, and pursueth unto Dan. | And Abram, hearing that his brother's son had been made a prisoner, took a band of his trained men, three hundred and eighteen of them, sons of his house, and went after them as far as Dan. | Which when Abram had heard, to wit, that his brother Lot was taken, he numbered of the servants born in his house, three hundred and eighteen well appointed: and pursued them to Dan. |
Genesis 14:15 | And he divideth himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smiteth them, and pursueth them unto Hobah, which [is] at the left of Damascus; | And separating his forces by night, he overcame them, putting them to flight and going after them as far as Hobah, which is on the north side of Damascus. | And dividing his company, he rushed upon them in the night: and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hoba, which is on the left hand of Damascus. |
Genesis 14:16 | and he bringeth back the whole of the substance, and also Lot his brother and his substance hath he brought back, and also the women and the people. | And he got back all the goods, and Lot, his brother's son, with his goods and the women and the people. | And he brought back all the substance, and Lot his brother, with his substance, the women also the people. |
Genesis 14:17 | And the king of Sodom goeth out to meet him (after his turning back from the smiting of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings who [are] with him), unto the valley of Shaveh, which [is] the king`s valley. | And when he was coming back after putting to flight Chedorlaomer and the other kings, he had a meeting with the king of Sodom in the valley of Shaveh, that is, the King's Valley. | And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after he returned from the slaughter of Chodorlahomor, and of the kings that were with him in the vale of Save, which is the king's vale. |
Genesis 14:18 | And Melchizedek king of Salem hath brought out bread and wine, and he [is] priest of God Most High; | And Melchizedek, king of Salem, the priest of the Most High God, took bread and wine, | But Melchisedech the king of Salem, bringing forth bread and wine, for he was the priest of the most high God, |
Genesis 14:19 | and he blesseth him, and saith, `Blessed [is] Abram to God Most High, possessing heaven and earth; | And blessing him, said, May the blessing of the Most High God, maker of heaven and earth, be on Abram: | Blessed him, and said: Blessed be Abram by the most high God, who created heaven and earth. |
Genesis 14:20 | and blessed [is] God Most High, who hath delivered thine adversaries into thy hand;` and he giveth to him a tenth of all. | And let the Most High God be praised, who has given into your hands those who were against you. Then Abram gave him a tenth of all the goods he had taken. | And blessed be the most high God, by whose protection the enemies are in thy hands. And he gace him the tithes of all. |
Genesis 14:21 | And the king of Sodom saith unto Abram, `Give to me the persons, and the substance take to thyself,` | And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the prisoners and take the goods for yourself. | And the king of Sodom said to Abram: Give me the persons, and the rest take to thyself. |
Genesis 14:22 | and Abram saith unto the king of Sodom, `I have lifted up my hand unto Jehovah, God Most High, possessing heaven and earth | But Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have taken an oath to the Lord, the Most High God, maker of heaven and earth, | And he answered him: I lift up my hand to the Lord God the most high, the possessor of heaven and earth, |
Genesis 14:23 | from a thread even unto a shoe-latchet I take not of anything which thou hast, that thou say not, I I have made Abram rich; | That I will not take so much as a thread or the cord of a shoe of yours; so that you may not say, I have given wealth to Abram: | That from the very woof thread unto the shoe latchet, I will not take of any things that are thine, lest thou say I have enriched Abram: |
Genesis 14:24 | save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who have gone with me Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre they take their portion.` | Give me nothing but the food which the fighting-men who went with me have had; but let Aner and Eshcol and Mamre have their part of the goods. | Except such things as the young men have eaten, and the shares of the men that came with me, Aner, Escol, and Mambre: these shall take their shares. |
