Matthew 27:1 | And morning having come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, so as to put him to death; | Now when it was morning, all the chief priests and those in authority took thought together with the purpose of putting Jesus to death. | And when morning was come, all the chief priests and ancients of the people took counsel against Jesus, that they might put him to death. |

Matthew 27:5 | and having cast down the silverlings in the sanctuary, he departed, and having gone away, he did strangle himself. | And he put down the silver in the Temple and went out, and put himself to death by hanging. | And casting down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed: and went and hanged himself with an halter. |
Matthew 27:6 | And the chief priests having taken the silverlings, said, `It is not lawful to put them to the treasury, seeing it is the price of blood;` | And the chief priests took the silver and said, It is not right to put it in the Temple store for it is the price of blood. | But the chief priests having taken the pieces of silver, said: It is not lawful to put them into the corbona, because it is the price of blood. |
Matthew 27:7 | and having taken counsel, they bought with them the field of the potter, for the burial of strangers; | And they made a decision to get with the silver the potter's field, as a place for the dead of other countries. | And after they had consulted together, they bought with them the potter's field, to be a burying place for strangers. |
Matthew 27:8 | therefore was that field called, `Field of blood,` unto this day. | For this cause that field was named, The field of blood, to this day. | For this cause the field was called Haceldama, that is, The field of blood, even to this day. |
Matthew 27:9 | Then was fulfilled that spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, `And I took the thirty silverlings, the price of him who hath been priced, whom they of the sons of Israel did price, | Then came true that which was said by Jeremiah the prophet, And they took the thirty bits of silver, the price of him who was valued by the children of Israel; | Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying: And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was prized, whom they prized of the children of Israel. |

Matthew 27:13 | then saith Pilate to him, `Dost thou not hear how many things they witness against thee?` | Then says Pilate to him, Do you give no attention to what their witnesses say against you? | Then Pilate saith to him: Dost not thou hear how great testimonies they allege against thee? |
Matthew 27:14 | And he did not answer him, not even to one word, so that the governor did wonder greatly. | And he gave him no answer, not even a word: so that the ruler was greatly surprised. | And he answered him to never a word; so that the governor wondered exceedingly. |
Matthew 27:15 | And at the feast the governor had been accustomed to release one to the multitude, a prisoner, whom they willed, | Now at the feast it was the way for the ruler to let free to the people one prisoner, at their selection. | Now upon the solemn day the governor was accustomed to release to the people one prisoner, whom they would. |
Matthew 27:16 | and they had then a noted prisoner, called Barabbas, | And they had then an important prisoner, whose name was Barabbas. | And he had then a notorious prisoner, that was called Barabbas. |
Matthew 27:17 | they therefore having been gathered together, Pilate said to them, `Whom will ye I shall release to you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?` | So when they came together, Pilate said to them, Whom will you have? Matthew 27:18 | for he had known that because of envy they had delivered him up. | For he saw that for envy they had given him up. | For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. |
Matthew 27:19 | And as he is sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent unto him, saying, `Nothing to thee and to that righteous one, for many things did I suffer to-day in a dream because of him.` | And while he was on the judge's seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that upright man, for I have had much trouble this day in a dream because of him. | And as he was sitting in the place of judgment, his wife sent to him, saying: Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. |
Matthew 27:20 | And the chief priests and the elders did persuade the multitudes that they might ask for themselves Barabbas, and might destroy Jesus; | Now the chief priests and those in authority got the people to make request for Barabbas, and for Jesus to be put to death. | But the chief priests and ancients persuaded the people, that they should ask Barabbas, and make Jesus away. |
Matthew 27:21 | and the governor answering said to them, `Which of the two will ye [that] I shall release to you?` And they said, `Barabbas.` | But the ruler made answer and said to them, Which of the two is it your pleasure that I let go free? And they said, Barabbas. | And the governor answering, said to them: Whether will you of the two to be released unto you? But they said, Barabbas. |
Matthew 27:22 | Pilate saith to them, `What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?` They all say to him, `Let be crucified!` | Pilate says to them, What, then, am I to do with Jesus, who is named Christ? They all say, Let him be put to death on the cross. | Pilate saith to them: What shall I do then with Jesus that is called Christ? They say all: Let him be crucified. |
Matthew 27:23 | And the governor said, `Why, what evil did he?` and they were crying out the more, saying, `Let be crucified.` | And he said, Why, what evil has he done? But they gave loud cries, saying, To the cross with him! | The governor said to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified. |
Matthew 27:24 | And Pilate having seen that it profiteth nothing, but rather a tumult is made, having taken water, he did wash the hands before the multitude, saying, `I am innocent from the blood of this righteous one; ye ye shall see;` | So when Pilate saw that he was able to do nothing, but that trouble was working up, he took water and, washing his hands before the people, said, The blood of this upright man is not on my hands: you are responsible. | And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it. |

Matthew 27:30 | And having spit on him, they took the reed, and were smiting on his head; | And they put shame on him, and gave him blows on the head with the rod. | And spitting upon him, they took the reed, and struck his head. |

Matthew 27:42 | `Others he saved; himself he is not able to save! If he be King of Israel, let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe him; | A saviour of others, he has no salvation for himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will have faith in him. | He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. |
Matthew 27:43 | he hath trusted on God, let Him now deliver him, if He wish him, because he said Son of God I am;` | He put his faith in God; let God be his saviour now, if he will have him; for he said, I am the Son of God. | He trusted in God; let him now deliver him if he will have him; for he said: I am the Son of God. |
