Matthew 7:1 | `Judge not, that ye may not be judged, | Be not judges of others, and you will not be judged. | Judge not, that you may not be judged, |
Matthew 7:2 | for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you. | For as you have been judging, so you will be judged, and with your measure will it be measured to you. | For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. |
Matthew 7:3 | `And why dost thou behold the mote that [is] in thy brother`s eye, and the beam that [is] in thine own eye dost not consider? | And why do you take note of the grain of dust in your brother's eye, but take no note of the bit of wood which is in your eye? | Any why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye? |
Matthew 7:4 | or, how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer I may cast out the mote from thine eye, and lo, the beam [is] in thine own eye? | Or how will you say to your brother, Let me take out the grain of dust from your eye, when you yourself have a bit of wood in your eye? | Or how sayest thou to thy brother: Let me cast the mote out of thy eye; and behold a beam is in thy own eye? |
Matthew 7:5 | Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then thou shalt see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother`s eye. | You false one, first take out the bit of wood from your eye, then will you see clearly to take out the grain of dust from your brother's eye. | Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam in thy own eye, and then shalt thou see to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. |
Matthew 7:6 | `Ye may not give that which is [holy] to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, that they may not trample them among their feet, and having turned may rend you. | Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, or put your jewels before pigs, for fear that they will be crushed under foot by the pigs whose attack will then be made against you. | Give not that which is holy to dogs; neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you. |
Matthew 7:7 | `Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you; | Make a request, and it will be answered; what you are searching for you will get; give the sign, and the door will be open to you: | Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you. |
Matthew 7:8 | for every one who is asking doth receive, and he who is seeking doth find, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened. | Because to everyone who makes a request, it will be given; and he who is searching will get his desire, and to him who gives the sign, the door will be open. | For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. |
Matthew 7:9 | `Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf a stone will he present to him? | Or which of you, if his son makes a request for bread, will give him a stone? | Or what man is there among you, of whom if his son shall ask bread, will he reach him a stone? |
Matthew 7:10 | and if a fish he may ask a serpent will he present to him? | Or if he makes a request for a fish, will give him a snake? | Or if he shall ask him a fish, will he reach him a serpent? |
Matthew 7:11 | if, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who [is] in the heavens give good things to those asking him? | If you, then, being evil, are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who make requests to him? | If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your Father who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him? |
Matthew 7:12 | `All things, therefore, whatever ye may will that men may be doing to you, so also do to them, for this is the law and the prophets. | All those things, then, which you would have men do to you, even so do you to them: because this is the law and the prophets. | All things therefore whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you also to them. For this is the law and the prophets. |
Matthew 7:13 | `Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide [is] the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it; | Go in by the narrow door; for wide is the door and open is the way which goes to destruction, and great numbers go in by it. | Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. |
Matthew 7:14 | how strait [is] the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it! | For narrow is the door and hard the road to life, and only a small number make discovery of it. | How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it! |
Matthew 7:15 | `But, take heed of the false prophets, who come unto you in sheep`s clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves. | Be on the watch for false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are cruel wolves. | Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. |
Matthew 7:16 | From their fruits ye shall know them; do [men] gather from thorns grapes? or from thistles figs? | By their fruits you will get knowledge of them. Do men get grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? | By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? |
Matthew 7:17 | so every good tree doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield evil fruits. | Even so, every good tree gives good fruit; but the bad tree gives evil fruit. | Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. |
Matthew 7:18 | A good tree is not able to yield evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits. | It is not possible for a good tree to give bad fruit, and a bad tree will not give good fruit. | A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. |
Matthew 7:19 | Every tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and is cast to fire: | Every tree which does not give good fruit is cut down and put in the fire. | Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. |
Matthew 7:20 | therefore from their fruits ye shall know them. | So by their fruits you will get knowledge of them. | Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them. |
Matthew 7:21 | `Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens. | Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will go into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the pleasure of my Father in heaven. | Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. |
Matthew 7:22 | Many will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name cast out demons? and in thy name done many mighty things? | A great number will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, were we not prophets in your name, and did we not by your name send out evil spirits, and by your name do works of power? | Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name? |
Matthew 7:23 | and then I will acknowledge to them, that I never knew you, depart from me ye who are working lawlessness. | And then will I say to them, I never had knowledge of you: go from me, you workers of evil. | And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. |
Matthew 7:24 | `Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock; | Everyone, then, to whom my words come and who does them, will be like a wise man who made his house on a rock; | Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock, |
Matthew 7:25 | and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock. | And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house, but it was not moved; because it was based on the rock. | And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on a rock. |
Matthew 7:26 | `And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; | And everyone to whom my words come and who does them not, will be like a foolish man who made his house on sand; | And every one that heareth these my words, and doth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand, |
Matthew 7:27 | and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.` | And the rain came down and there was a rush of waters and the winds were driving against that house; and it came down and great was its fall. | And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof. |
Matthew 7:28 | And it came to pass, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching, | And it came about, when Jesus had come to the end of these words, that the people were surprised at his teaching, | And it came to pass when Jesus had fully ended these words, the people were in admiration at his doctrine. |
Matthew 7:29 | for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes. | for he was teaching as one having authority, and not as their scribes. | For he was teaching them as one having power, and not as the scribes and Pharisees. |
