| John 16:1 | `These things I have spoken to you, that ye may not be stumbled, | I have said these things to you so that you may not be in doubt. | These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. |
| John 16:2 | out of the synagogues they will put you; but an hour doth come, that every one who hath killed you, may think to offer service unto God; | They will put you out of the Synagogues: yes, the time is coming when whoever puts you to death will have the belief that he is doing God's pleasure. | They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. |
| John 16:3 | and these things they will do to you, because they did not know the Father, nor me. | They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me. | And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. |
| John 16:4 | `But these things I have spoken to you, that when the hour may come, ye may remember them, that I said [them] to you, and these things to you from the beginning I did not say, because I was with you; | I have said these things to you so that when the time comes, what I have said may come to your mind. I did not say them to you at the first, because then I was still with you. | But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. |
| John 16:5 | and now I go away to Him who sent me, and none of you doth ask me, Whither dost thou go? | But now I am going to him who sent me; and not one of you says to me, Where are you going? | But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? |
| John 16:6 | but because these things I have said to you, the sorrow hath filled your heart. | But your hearts are full of sorrow because I have said these things. | But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. |
| John 16:7 | `But I tell you the truth; it is better for you that I go away, for if I may not go away, the Comforter will not come unto you, and if I go on, I will send Him unto you; | But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. |
| John 16:8 | and having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment; | And he, when he comes, will make the world conscious of sin, and of righteousness, and of being judged: | And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: |
| John 16:9 | concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe in me; | Of sin, because they have not faith in me; | Of sin, because they believe not on me; |
| John 16:10 | and concerning righteousness, because unto my Father I go away, and no more do ye behold me; | Of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you will see me no more; | Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; |

| John 16:12 | `I have yet many things to say to you, but ye are not able to bear [them] now; | I have still much to say to you, but you are not strong enough for it now. | I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. |
| John 16:13 | and when He may come the Spirit of truth He will guide you to all the truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but as many things as He will hear He will speak, and the coming things He will tell you; | However, when he, the Spirit of true knowledge, has come, he will be your guide into all true knowledge: for his words will not come from himself, but whatever has come to his hearing, that he will say: and he will make clear to you the things to come. | Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. |

| John 16:19 | Jesus, therefore, knew that they were wishing to ask him, and he said to them, `Concerning this do ye seek one with another, because I said, A little while, and you do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me? | Jesus saw that they had a desire to put the question to him, so he said to them, Is this what you are questioning one with another, why I said, After a little time, you will see me no longer; and then again, after a little time, you will see me? | Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? |
| John 16:20 | verily, verily, I say to you, that ye shall weep and lament, and the world will rejoice; and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow joy will become. | Truly I say to you, You will be weeping and sorrowing, but the world will be glad: you will be sad, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. | Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. |
| John 16:21 | `The woman, when she may bear, hath sorrow, because her hour did come, and when she may bear the child, no more doth she remember the anguish, because of the joy that a man was born to the world. | When a woman is about to give birth she has sorrow, because her hour is come; but when she has given birth to the child, the pain is put out of her mind by the joy that a man has come into the world. | A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. |

| John 16:30 | now we have known that thou hast known all things, and hast no need that any one do question thee; in this we believe that from God thou didst come forth.` | Now we are certain that you have knowledge of all things and have no need for anyone to put questions to you: through this we have faith that you came from God. | Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. |
