Romans 8:1There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;For this cause those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners.There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus;
Romans 8:2for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.for the Spirit's Law telling of Life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the Law that deals only with sin and death.
Romans 8:3for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,For what the law was not able to do because it was feeble through the flesh, God, sending his Son in the image of the evil flesh, and as an offering for sin, gave his decision against sin in the flesh:For what was impossible to the Law powerless as it was because it acted through frail humanity God effected. Sending His own Son in a body like that of sinful human nature and as a sacrifice for sin, He pronounced sentence upon sin in human nature;
Romans 8:4that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.So that what was ordered by the law might be done in us, who are living, not in the way of the flesh, but in the way of the Spirit.in order that in our case the requirements of the Law might be fully met. For our lives are regulated not by our earthly, but by our spiritual natures.
Romans 8:5For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;For those who are living in the way of the flesh give their minds to the things of the flesh, but those who go in the way of the Spirit, to the things of the Spirit.For if men are controlled by their earthly natures, they give their minds to earthly things. If they are controlled by their spiritual natures, they give their minds to spiritual things.
Romans 8:6for the mind of the flesh [is] death, and the mind of the Spirit life and peace;For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:Because for the mind to be given up to earthly things means death; but for it to be given up to spiritual things means Life and peace.
Romans 8:7because the mind of the flesh [is] enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,Because the mind of the flesh is opposite to God; it is not under the law of God, and is not able to be:Abandonment to earthly things is a state of enmity to God. Such a mind does not submit to God's Law, and indeed cannot do so.
Romans 8:8for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.So that those who are in the flesh are not able to give pleasure to God.And those whose hearts are absorbed in earthly things cannot please God.
Romans 8:9And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ this one is not His;You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God is in you. But if any man has not the Spirit of Christ he is not one of his.You, however, are not devoted to earthly, but to spiritual things, if the Spirit of God is really dwelling in you; whereas if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, such a one does not belong to Him.
Romans 8:10and if Christ [is] in you, the body, indeed, [is] dead because of sin, and the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness,And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.But if Christ is in you, though your body must die because of sin, yet your spirit has Life because of righteousness.
Romans 8:11and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.But if the Spirit of him who made Jesus come again from the dead is in you, he who made Christ Jesus come again from the dead will in the same way, through his Spirit which is in you, give life to your bodies which now are under the power of death.And if the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus from the dead is dwelling in you, He who raised up Christ from the dead will give Life also to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:12So, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh;So then, my brothers, we are in debt, not to the flesh to be living in the way of the flesh:Therefore, brethren, it is not to our lower natures that we are under obligation that we should live by their rule.
Romans 8:13for if according to the flesh ye do live, ye are about to die; and if, by the Spirit, the deeds of the body ye put to death, ye shall live;For if you go in the way of the flesh, death will come on you; but if by the Spirit you put to death the works of the body, you will have life.For if you so live, death is near; but if, through being under the sway of the spirit, you are putting your old bodily habits to death, you will live.
Romans 8:14for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God;And all those who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God.For those who are led by God's Spirit are, all of them, God's sons.
Romans 8:15for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, `Abba Father.`For you did not get the spirit of servants again to put you in fear, but the spirit of sons was given to you, by which we say, Abba, Father.You have not for the second time acquired the consciousness of being a consciousness which fills you with terror. But you have acquired a deep inward conviction of having been adopted as sons a conviction which prompts us to cry aloud, "Abba! our Father!"
Romans 8:16The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;The Spirit is witness with our spirit that we are children of God:The Spirit Himself bears witness, along with our own spirits, to the fact that we are children of God;
Romans 8:17and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.And if we are children, we have a right to a part in the heritage; a part in the things of God, together with Christ; so that if we have a part in his pain, we will in the same way have a part in his glory.and if children, then heirs too heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ; if indeed we are sharers in Christ's sufferings, in order that we may also be sharers in His glory.
Romans 8:18For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory about to be revealed in us;I am of the opinion that there is no comparison between the pain of this present time and the glory which we will see in the future.Why, what we now suffer I count as nothing in comparison with the glory which is soon to be manifested in us.
Romans 8:19for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God;For the strong desire of every living thing is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God.For all creation, gazing eagerly as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to see the manifestation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:20for to vanity was the creation made subject not of its will, but because of Him who did subject [it] in hope,For every living thing was put under the power of change, not by its desire, but by him who made it so, in hopeFor the Creation fell into subjection to failure and unreality (not of its own choice, but by the will of Him who so subjected it).
Romans 8:21that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;That all living things will be made free from the power of death and will have a part with the free children of God in glory.Yet there was always the hope that at last the Creation itself would also be set free from the thraldom of decay so as to enjoy the liberty that will attend the glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:22for we have known that all the creation doth groan together, and doth travail in pain together till now.For we are conscious that all living things are weeping and sorrowing in pain together till now.For we know that the whole of Creation is groaning together in the pains of childbirth until this hour.
Romans 8:23And not only [so], but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting the redemption of our body;And not only so, but we who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we have sorrow in our minds, waiting for the time when we will take our place as sons, that is, the salvation of our bodies.And more than that, we ourselves, though we possess the Spirit as a foretaste and pledge of the glorious future, yet we ourselves inwardly sigh, as we wait and long for open recognition as sons through the deliverance of our bodies.
Romans 8:24for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for [it]?For our salvation is by hope: but hope which is seen is not hope: for who is hoping for what he sees?It is *in hope* that we have been saved. But an object of hope is such no longer when it is present to view; for when a man has a thing before his eyes, how can he be said to hope for it?
Romans 8:25and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect [it].But if we have hope for that which we see not, then we will be able to go on waiting for it.But if we hope for something which we do not see, then we eagerly and patiently wait for it.
Romans 8:26And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth [us], we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable,And in the same way the Spirit is a help to our feeble hearts: for we are not able to make prayer to God in the right way; but the Spirit puts our desires into words which are not in our power to say;In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; for we do not know what prayers to offer nor in what way to offer them. But the Spirit Himself pleads for us in yearnings that can find no words,
Romans 8:27and He who is searching the hearts hath known what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.And he who is the searcher of hearts has knowledge of the mind of the Spirit, because he is making prayers for the saints in agreement with the mind of God.and the Searcher of hearts knows what the Spirit's meaning is, because His intercessions for God's people are in harmony with God's will.
Romans 8:28And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;And we are conscious that all things are working together for good to those who have love for God, and have been marked out by his purpose.Now we know that for those who love God all things are working together for good for those, I mean, whom with deliberate purpose He has called.
Romans 8:29because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren;Because those of whom he had knowledge before they came into existence, were marked out by him to be made like his Son, so that he might be the first among a band of brothers:For those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of brothers;
Romans 8:30and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.And those who were marked out by him were named; and those who were named were given righteousness; and to those to whom he gave righteousness, in the same way he gave glory.and those whom He has pre-destined He also has called; and those whom He has called He has also declared free from guilt; and those whom He has declared free from guilt He has also crowned with glory.
Romans 8:31What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God [is] for us, who [is] against us?What may we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?What then shall we say to this? If God is on our side, who is there to appear against us?
Romans 8:32He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us?He who did not keep back his only Son, but gave him up for us all, will he not with him freely give us all things?He who did not withhold even His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
Romans 8:33Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God [is] He that is declaring righteous,Who will say anything against the saints of God? It is God who makes us clear from evil;Who shall impeach those whom God has chosen? God declares them free from guilt.
Romans 8:34who [is] he that is condemning? Christ [is] He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God who also doth intercede for us.Who will give a decision against us? It is Christ Jesus who not only was put to death, but came again from the dead, who is now at the right hand of God, taking our part.Who is there to condemn them? Christ Jesus died, or rather has risen to life again. He is also at the right hand of God, and is interceding for us.
Romans 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Who will come between us and the love of Christ? Will trouble, or pain, or cruel acts, or the need of food or of clothing, or danger, or the sword?Who shall separate us from Christ's love? Shall affliction or distress, persecution or hunger, nakedness or danger or the sword?
Romans 8:36(according as it hath been written `For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,`)As it is said in the holy Writings, Because of you we are put to death every day; we are like sheep ready for destruction.As it stands written in the Scripture, "For Thy sake they are, all day long, trying to kill us. We have been looked upon as sheep destined for slaughter."
Romans 8:37but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us;But we are able to overcome all these things and more through his love.Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who has loved us.
Romans 8:38for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor messengers, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,For I am certain that not death, or life, or angels, or rulers, or things present, or things to come, or powers,For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither the lower ranks of evil angels nor the higher, neither things present nor things future, nor the forces of nature,
Romans 8:39nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of god, that [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.Or things on high, or things under the earth, or anything which is made, will be able to come between us and the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God which rests upon us in Christ Jesus our Lord.
