Genesis 12:1And Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.Now the Lord said to Abram, Go out from your country and from your family and from your father's house, into the land to which I will be your guide:Now Yahweh said to Abram, "Get out of your country, and from your relatives, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you.
Genesis 12:2And I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.And I will make of you a great nation, blessing you and making your name great; and you will be a blessing:I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you, and make your name great. You will be a blessing.
Genesis 12:3And I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.`To them who are good to you will I give blessing, and on him who does you wrong will I put my curse: and you will become a name of blessing to all the families of the earth.I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. In you will all of the families of the earth be blessed."
Genesis 12:4And Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram [is] a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.So Abram went as the Lord had said to him, and Lot went with him: Abram was seventy-five years old when he went away from Haran.So Abram went, as Yahweh had spoken to him. Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Genesis 12:5And Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother`s son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.And Abram took Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all their goods and the servants which they had got in Haran, and they went out to go to the land of Canaan.Abram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother's son, all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls who they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan. Into the land of Canaan they came.
Genesis 12:6And Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite [is] then in the land.And Abram went through the land till he came to Shechem, to the holy tree of Moreh. At that time, the Canaanites were still living in the land.Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. The Canaanite was then in the land.
Genesis 12:7And Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;` and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.And the Lord came to Abram, and said, I will give all this land to your seed; then Abram made an altar there to the Lord who had let himself be seen by him.Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." He built an altar there to Yahweh, who appeared to him.
Genesis 12:8And he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.And moving on from there to the mountain on the east of Beth-el, he put up his tent, having Beth-el on the west and Ai on the east: and there he made an altar and gave worship to the name of the Lord.He left from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh, and called on the name of Yahweh.
Genesis 12:9And Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.And he went on, journeying still to the South.Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.
Genesis 12:10And there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine [is] grievous in the land;And because there was little food to be had in that land, he went down into Egypt.There was a famine in the land. Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was sore in the land.
Genesis 12:11and it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou [art] a woman of beautiful appearance;Now when he came near to Egypt, he said to Sarai, his wife, Truly, you are a fair woman and beautiful to the eye;It happened, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, "See now, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look on.
Genesis 12:12and it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This [is] his wife,` and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:And I am certain that when the men of Egypt see you, they will say, This is his wife: and they will put me to death and keep you.It will happen, when the Egyptians will see you, that they will say, 'This is his wife.' They will kill me, but they will save you alive.
Genesis 12:13say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.`Say, then, that you are my sister, and so it will be well with me because of you, and my life will be kept safe on your account.Please say that you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that my soul may live because of you."
Genesis 12:14And it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she [is] exceeding fair;And so it was that when Abram came into Egypt, the men of Egypt, looking on the woman, saw that she was fair.It happened that when Abram had come into Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.
Genesis 12:15and princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken [to] Pharaoh`s house;And Pharaoh's great men, having seen her, said words in praise of her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into Pharaoh's house.The princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
Genesis 12:16and to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.And because of her, he was good to Abram, and he had sheep and oxen and asses, and men-servants and women-servants, and camels.He dealt well with Abram for her sake. He had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and maid-servants, and she-asses, and camels.
Genesis 12:17And Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house great plagues for the matter of Sarai, Abram`s wife.And the Lord sent great troubles on Pharaoh's house because of Sarai, Abram's wife.Yahweh plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.
Genesis 12:18And Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What [is] this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she [is] thy wife?Then Pharaoh sent for Abram, and said, What have you done to me? why did you not say that she was your wife?Pharaoh called Abram, and said, "What is this that you have done to me? Why didn't you tell me that she was your wife?
Genesis 12:19Why hast thou said, She [is] my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.`Why did you say that she was your sister? so that I took her for my wife: now, take your wife and go on your way.Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I took her to be my wife? Now therefore, see your wife, take her, and go your way."
Genesis 12:20And Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.And Pharaoh gave orders to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and all he had.Pharaoh gave men charge concerning him: and they brought him on the way, and his wife, and all that he had.
