Genesis 25:1And Abraham addeth and taketh a wife, and her name [is] Keturah;And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.Abraham took another wife, and her name was Keturah.
Genesis 25:2and she beareth to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.She became the mother of Zimran and Jokshan and Medan and Midian and Ishbak and Shuah.She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
Genesis 25:3And Jokshan hath begotten Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim;And Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan. And from Dedan came the Asshurim and Letushim and Leummim.Jokshan became the father of Sheba, and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
Genesis 25:4and the sons of Midian [are] Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah: all these [are] sons of Keturah.And from Midian came Ephah and Epher and Hanoch and Abida and Eldaah. All these were the offspring of Keturah.The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
Genesis 25:5And Abraham giveth all that he hath to Isaac;Now Abraham gave all his property to Isaac;Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac,
Genesis 25:6and to the sons of the concubines whom Abraham hath, Abraham hath given gifts, and sendeth them away from Isaac his son (in his being yet alive) eastward, unto the east country.But to the sons of his other women he gave offerings, and sent them away, while he was still living, into the east country.but to the sons of the concubines who Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts. He sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country.
Genesis 25:7And these [are] the days of the years of the life of Abraham, which he lived, a hundred and seventy and five years;Now the years of Abraham's life were a hundred and seventy-five.These are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: one hundred seventy-five years.
Genesis 25:8and Abraham expireth, and dieth in a good old age, aged and satisfied, and is gathered unto his people.And Abraham came to his death, an old man, full of years; and he was put to rest with his people.Abraham gave up the spirit, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full, and was gathered to his people.
Genesis 25:9And Isaac and Ishmael his sons bury him at the cave of Machpelah, at the field of Ephron, son of Zoar the Hittite, which [is] before MamreAnd Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, put him to rest in the hollow rock of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, near Mamre;Isaac and Ishmael, his sons, buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre,
Genesis 25:10the field which Abraham bought from the sons of Heth there hath Abraham been buried, and Sarah his wife.The same field which Abraham got from the children of Heth: there Abraham was put to rest with Sarah, his wife.the field which Abraham purchased of the children of Heth. There was Abraham buried, with Sarah his wife.
Genesis 25:11And it cometh to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blesseth Isaac his son; and Isaac dwelleth by the Well of the Living One, my Beholder.Now after the death of Abraham, the blessing of God was with Isaac, his son.It happened after the death of Abraham, that God blessed Isaac, his son. Isaac lived by Beer-lahai-roi.
Genesis 25:12And these [are] births of Ishmael, Abraham`s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah`s handmaid, hath borne to Abraham;Now these are the generations of Ishmael, the son of Abraham, whose mother was Hagar the Egyptian, the servant of Sarah:Now this is the history of the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bore to Abraham.
Genesis 25:13and these [are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their births: first-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,These are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their generations: Ishmael's first son was Nebaioth; then Kedar and Adbeel and MibsamThese are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
Genesis 25:14and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,And Mishma and Dumah and Massa,Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
Genesis 25:15Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
Genesis 25:16these are sons of Ishmael, and these their names, by their villages, and by their towers; twelve princes according to their peoples.These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names in their towns and their tent-circles; twelve chiefs with their peoples.These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments: twelve princes, according to their nations.
Genesis 25:17And these [are] the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people;And the years of Ishmael's life were a hundred and thirty-seven: and he came to his end, and was put to rest with his people.These are the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred thirty-seven years. He gave up the spirit and died, and was gathered to his people.
Genesis 25:18and they tabernacle from Havilah unto Shur, which [is] before Egypt, in [thy] going towards Asshur; in the presence of all his brethren hath he fallen.And their country was from Havilah to Shur which is east of Egypt: they took their place to the east of all their brothers.They lived from Havilah to Shur that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He lived opposite all his relatives.
Genesis 25:19And these [are] births of Isaac, Abraham`s son: Abraham hath begotten Isaac;Now these are the generations of Abraham's son Isaac:This is the history of the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham became the father of Isaac.
Genesis 25:20and Isaac is a son of forty years in his taking Rebekah, daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean, from Padan-Aram, sister of Laban the Aramaean, to him for a wife.Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean of Paddan-aram, and the sister of Laban the Aramaean, to be his wife.Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.
Genesis 25:21And Isaac maketh entreaty to Jehovah before his wife, for she [is] barren: and Jehovah is entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiveth,Isaac made prayer to the Lord for his wife because she had no children; and the Lord gave ear to his prayer, and Rebekah became with child.Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Genesis 25:22and the children struggle together within her, and she saith, `If [it is] right why [am] I thus?` and she goeth to seek Jehovah.And the children were fighting together inside her, and she said, If it is to be so, why am I like this? So she went to put her question to the Lord.The children struggled together within her. She said, "If it be so, why do I live?" She went to inquire of Yahweh.
Genesis 25:23And Jehovah saith to her, `Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two peoples from thy bowels are parted; and the [one] people than the [other] people is stronger; and the elder doth serve the younger.`And the Lord said to her, Two nations are in your body, and two peoples will come to birth from you: the one will be stronger than the other, and the older will be the servant of the younger.Yahweh said to her, Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples will be separated from your body. The one people will be stronger than the other people. The elder will serve the younger.
Genesis 25:24And her days to bear are fulfilled, and lo, twins [are] in her womb;And when the time came for her to give birth, there were two children in her body.When her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
Genesis 25:25and the first cometh out all red as a hairy robe, and they call his name Esau;And the first came out red from head to foot like a robe of hair, and they gave him the name of Esau.The first came out red all over, like a hairy garment. They named him Esau.
Genesis 25:26and afterwards hath his brother come out, and his hand is taking hold on Esau`s heel, and one calleth his name Jacob; and Isaac [is] a son of sixty years in her bearing them.And after him, his brother came out, gripping Esau's foot; and he was named Jacob: Isaac was sixty years old when she gave birth to them.After that, his brother came out, and his hand had hold on Esau's heel. He was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
Genesis 25:27And the youths grew, and Esau is a man acquainted [with] hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob [is] a plain man, inhabiting tents;And the boys came to full growth; and Esau became a man of the open country, an expert bowman; but Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.The boys grew. Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.
Genesis 25:28and Isaac loveth Esau, for [his] hunting [is] in his mouth; and Rebekah is loving Jacob.Now Isaac's love was for Esau, because Esau's meat was greatly to his taste: but Rebekah had more love for Jacob.Now Isaac loved Esau, because he ate his venison. Rebekah loved Jacob.
Genesis 25:29And Jacob boileth pottage, and Esau cometh in from the field, and he [is] weary;And one day Jacob was cooking some soup when Esau came in from the fields in great need of food;Jacob boiled stew. Esau came in from the field, and he was famished.
Genesis 25:30and Esau saith unto Jacob, `Let me eat, I pray thee, some of this red red thing, for I [am] weary;` therefore hath [one] called his name Edom [Red];And Esau said to Jacob, Give me a full meal of that red soup, for I am overcome with need for food: for this reason he was named Edom.Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am famished." Therefore his name was called Edom.
Genesis 25:31and Jacob saith, `Sell to-day thy birthright to me.`And Jacob said, First of all give me your birthright.Jacob said, "First, sell me your birthright."
Genesis 25:32And Esau saith, `Lo, I am going to die, and what is this to me birthright?`And Esau said, Truly, I am at the point of death: what profit is the birthright to me?Esau said, "Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?"
Genesis 25:33and Jacob saith, `Swear to me to-day:` and he sweareth to him, and selleth his birthright to Jacob;And Jacob said, First of all give me your oath; and he gave him his oath, handing over his birthright to Jacob.Jacob said, "Swear to me first." He swore to him. He sold his birthright to Jacob.
Genesis 25:34and Jacob hath given to Esau bread and pottage of lentiles, and he eateth, and drinketh, and riseth, and goeth; and Esau despiseth the birthright.Then Jacob gave him bread and soup; and he took food and drink and went away, caring little for his birthright.Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils. He ate and drank, rose up, and went his way. So Esau despised his birthright.
