Philippians 4:1 | So then, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand ye in the Lord, beloved. | So my brothers, well loved and very dear to me, my joy and crown, be strong in the Lord, my loved ones. | Therefore, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my beloved. |
Philippians 4:2 | Euodia I exhort, and Syntyche I exhort, to be of the same mind in the Lord; | I make request to Euodias and Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. | I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to think the same way in the Lord. |
Philippians 4:3 | and I ask also thee, genuine yoke-fellow, be assisting those women who in the good news did strive along with me, with Clement also, and the others, my fellow-workers, whose names [are] in the book of life. | And I make request to you, true helper in my work, to see to the needs of those women who took part with me in the good news, with Clement and the rest of my brother-workers whose names are in the book of life. | Yes, I beg you also, true yoke-fellow, help these women, for they labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. |
Philippians 4:4 | Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice; | Be glad in the Lord at all times: again I say, Be glad. | Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, Rejoice! |
Philippians 4:5 | let your forbearance be known to all men; the Lord [is] near; | Let your gentle behaviour be clear to all men. The Lord is near. | Let your mildness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. |
Philippians 4:6 | for nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God; | Have no cares; but in everything with prayer and praise put your requests before God. | In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. |
Philippians 4:7 | and the peace of God, that is surpassing all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. | And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. | The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. |
Philippians 4:8 | As to the rest, brethren, as many things as are true, as many as [are] grave, as many as [are] righteous, as many as [are] pure, as many as [are] lovely, as many as [are] of good report, if any worthiness, and if any praise, these things think upon; | For the rest, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things have honour, whatever things are upright, whatever things are holy, whatever things are beautiful, whatever things are of value, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, give thought to these things. | Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. |
Philippians 4:9 | the things that also ye did learn, and receive, and hear, and saw in me, those do, and the God of the peace shall be with you. | The things which came to you by my teaching and preaching, and which you saw in me, these things do, and the God of peace will be with you. | The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you. |
Philippians 4:10 | And I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye flourished again in caring for me, for which also ye were caring, and lacked opportunity; | But I am very glad in the Lord that your care for me has come to life again; though you did in fact take thought for me, but you were not able to give effect to it. | But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity. |
Philippians 4:11 | not that in respect of want I say [it], for I did learn in the things in which I am to be content; | But I will not say anything about my needs, for I am able, wherever I am, to be dependent on myself. | Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. |
Philippians 4:12 | I have known both to be abased, and I have known to abound; in everything and in all things I have been initiated, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want. | It is the same to me if I am looked down on or honoured; everywhere and in all things I have the secret of how to be full and how to go without food; how to have wealth and how to be in need. | I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. |
Philippians 4:13 | For all things I have strength, in Christ`s strengthening me; | I am able to do all things through him who gives me strength. | I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. |
Philippians 4:14 | but ye did well, having communicated with my tribulation; | But you did well to have care for me in my need. | However you did well that you had fellowship with my affliction. |
Philippians 4:15 | and ye have known, even ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the good news when I went forth from Macedonia, no assembly did communicate with me in regard to giving and receiving except ye only; | And you have knowledge, Philippians, that when the good news first came to you, when I went away from Macedonia, no church took part with me in the business of giving to the saints, but you only; | You yourselves also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only. |
Philippians 4:16 | because also in Thessalonica, both once and again to my need ye sent; | Because even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to me in my need. | For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to my need. |
Philippians 4:17 | not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit that is overflowing to your account; | Not that I am looking for an offering, but for fruit which may be put to your credit. | Not that I seek for the gift, but I seek for the fruit that increases to your account. |
Philippians 4:18 | and I have all things, and abound; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things from you an odour of a sweet smell a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God: | I have all things and more than enough: I am made full, having had from Epaphroditus the things which came from you, a perfume of a sweet smell, an offering well pleasing to God. | But I have all things, and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to God. |
Philippians 4:19 | and my God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus; | And my God will give you all you have need of from the wealth of his glory in Christ Jesus. | My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. |
Philippians 4:20 | and to God, even our Father, [is] the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen. | Now to God our Father be glory for ever and ever. So be it. | Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. |
Philippians 4:21 | Salute ye every saint in Christ Jesus; there salute you the brethren with me; | Give words of love to every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their love. | Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. |
Philippians 4:22 | there salute you all the saints, and specially those of Caesar`s house; | All the saints send their love to you, specially those who are of Caesar's house. | All the saints greet you, especially those who are of Caesar's household. |
Philippians 4:23 | the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all. Amen. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. |
