| Hebrews 11:1 | And faith is of things hoped for a confidence, of matters not seen a conviction, | Now faith is [the] substantiating of things hoped for, [the] conviction of things not seen. | Now faith is a well-grounded assurance of that for which we hope, and a conviction of the reality of things which we do not see. |
| Hebrews 11:2 | for in this were the elders testified of; | For in [the power of] this the elders have obtained testimony. | For by it the saints of old won God's approval. |
| Hebrews 11:3 | by faith we understand the ages to have been prepared by a saying of God, in regard to the things seen not having come out of things appearing; | By faith we apprehend that the worlds were framed by [the] word of God, so that that which is seen should not take its origin from things which appear. | Through faith we understand that the worlds came into being, and still exist, at the command of God, so that what is seen does not owe its existence to that which is visible. |
