Ephesians 4:1 | Call upon you, then, do I the prisoner of the Lord to walk worthily of the calling with which ye were called, | *I*, the prisoner in [the] Lord, exhort you therefore to walk worthy of the calling wherewith ye have been called, | I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, |
Ephesians 4:2 | with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love, | with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love; | with all lowliness and humility, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love; |

Ephesians 4:4 | one body and one Spirit, according as also ye were called in one hope of your calling; | [There is] one body and one Spirit, as ye have been also called in one hope of your calling; | There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling; |
Ephesians 4:5 | one Lord, one faith, one baptism, | one Lord, one faith, one baptism; | one Lord, one faith, one baptism, |
Ephesians 4:6 | one God and Father of all, who [is] over all, and through all, and in you all, | one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all. | one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all. |
Ephesians 4:7 | and to each one of you was given the grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ, | But to each one of us has been given grace according to the measure of the gift of the Christ. | But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ. |
Ephesians 4:8 | wherefore, he saith, `Having gone up on high he led captive captivity, and gave gifts to men,` | Wherefore he says, Having ascended up on high, he has led captivity captive, and has given gifts to men. | Therefore he says, "When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." |
Ephesians 4:9 | and that, he went up, what is it except that he also went down first to the lower parts of the earth? | But that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? | Now this, "He ascended," what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? |
Ephesians 4:10 | he who went down is the same also who went up far above all the heavens, that He may fill all things | He that descended is the same who has also ascended up above all the heavens, that he might fill all things; | He who descended is the same also who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things. |
Ephesians 4:11 | and He gave some [as] apostles, and some [as] prophets, and some [as] proclaimers of good news, and some [as] shepherds and teachers, | and *he* has given some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some shepherds and teachers, | He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; |
Ephesians 4:12 | unto the perfecting of the saints, for a work of ministration, for a building up of the body of the Christ, | for the perfecting of the saints; with a view to [the] work of [the] ministry, with a view to the edifying of the body of Christ; | for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; |
Ephesians 4:13 | till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ, | until we all arrive at the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at [the] full-grown man, at [the] measure of the stature of the fulness of the Christ; | until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; |
Ephesians 4:14 | that we may no more be babes, tossed and borne about by every wind of the teaching, in the sleight of men, in craftiness, unto the artifice of leading astray, | in order that we may be no longer babes, tossed and carried about by every wind of *that* teaching [which is] in the sleight of men, in unprincipled cunning with a view to systematized error; | that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; |
Ephesians 4:15 | and, being true in love, we may increase to Him [in] all things, who is the head the Christ; | but, holding the truth in love, we may grow up to him in all things, who is the head, the Christ: | but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ; |
Ephesians 4:16 | from whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love. | from whom the whole body, fitted together, and connected by every joint of supply, according to [the] working in [its] measure of each one part, works for itself the increase of the body to its self-building up in love. | from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love. |
Ephesians 4:17 | This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind, | This I say therefore, and testify in [the] Lord, that ye should no longer walk as [the rest of] the nations walk in [the] vanity of their mind, | This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind, |
Ephesians 4:18 | being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart, | being darkened in understanding, estranged from the life of God by reason of the ignorance which is in them, by reason of the hardness of their hearts, | being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts; |
Ephesians 4:19 | who, having ceased to feel, themselves did give up to the lasciviousness, for the working of all uncleanness in greediness; | who having cast off all feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greedy unsatisfied lust. | who having become callous gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness. |
Ephesians 4:20 | and ye did not so learn the Christ, | But *ye* have not thus learnt the Christ, | But you did not learn Christ that way; |
Ephesians 4:21 | if so be ye did hear him, and in him were taught, as truth is in Jesus; | if ye have heard him and been instructed in him according as [the] truth is in Jesus; | if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: |
Ephesians 4:22 | ye are to put off concerning the former behaviour the old man, that is corrupt according to the desires of the deceit, | [namely] your having put off according to the former conversation the old man which corrupts itself according to the deceitful lusts; | that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; |
Ephesians 4:23 | and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, | and being renewed in the spirit of your mind; | and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, |
Ephesians 4:24 | and to put on the new man, which, according to God, was created in righteousness and kindness of the truth. | and [your] having put on the new man, which according to God is created in truthful righteousness and holiness. | and put on the new man, that like God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth. |
Ephesians 4:25 | Wherefore, putting away the lying, speak truth each with his neighbour, because we are members one of another; | Wherefore, having put off falsehood, speak truth every one with his neighbour, because we are members one of another. | Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members one of another. |
Ephesians 4:26 | be angry and do not sin; let not the sun go down upon your wrath, | Be angry, and do not sin; let not the sun set upon your wrath, | "Be angry, and don't sin." Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, |
Ephesians 4:27 | neither give place to the devil; | neither give room for the devil. | neither give place to the devil. |
Ephesians 4:28 | whoso is stealing let him no more steal, but rather let him labour, working the thing that is good with the hands, that he may have to impart to him having need. | Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him toil, working what is honest with [his] hands, that he may have to distribute to him that has need. | Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need. |
Ephesians 4:29 | Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers; | Let no corrupt word go out of your mouth, but if [there be] any good one for needful edification, that it may give grace to those that hear [it]. | Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. |
Ephesians 4:30 | and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption. | And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which ye have been sealed for [the] day of redemption. | Don't grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed to the day of redemption. |
Ephesians 4:31 | Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice, | Let all bitterness, and heat of passion, and wrath, and clamour, and injurious language, be removed from you, with all malice; | Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. |
Ephesians 4:32 | and become one to another kind, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, according as also God in Christ did forgive you. | and be to one another kind, compassionate, forgiving one another, so as God also in Christ has forgiven you. | Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. |
