Hebrews 13:2 | of the hospitality be not forgetful, for through this unawares certain did entertain messengers; | And hospitality do not forget; for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels. | Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. |
Hebrews 13:3 | be mindful of those in bonds, as having been bound with them, of those maltreated, as also yourselves being in the body; | Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body. | Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body. |
Hebrews 13:4 | honourable [is] the marriage in all, and the bed undefiled, and whoremongers and adulterers God shall judge. | Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge. | [Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. |
Hebrews 13:5 | Without covetousness the behaviour, being content with the things present, for He hath said, `No, I will not leave, no, nor forsake thee,` | Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have; for he hath said: I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee. | Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. |
Hebrews 13:6 | so that we do boldly say, `The Lord [is] to me a helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me.` | So that we may confidently say: The Lord is my helper: I will not fear what man shall do to me. | So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me? |
Hebrews 13:7 | Be mindful of those leading you, who did speak to you the word of God, whose faith considering the issue of the behaviour be imitating, | Remember your prelates who have spoken the word of God to you; whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation, | Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith. |
Hebrews 13:8 | Jesus Christ yesterday and to-day the same, and to the ages; | Jesus Christ, yesterday, and to day; and the same for ever. | Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday and to-day, [yea] and for ever. |
Hebrews 13:9 | with teachings manifold and strange be not carried about, for [it is] good that by grace the heart be confirmed, not with meats, in which they who were occupied were not profited; | Be not led away with various and strange doctrines. For it is best that the heart be established with grace, not with meats; which have not profited those that walk in them. | Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be established by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited. |
Hebrews 13:10 | we have an altar, of which to eat they have no authority who the tabernacle are serving, | We have an altar, whereof they have no power to eat who serve the tabernacle. | We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat that serve the tabernacle. |
Hebrews 13:11 | for of those beasts whose blood is brought for sin into the holy places through the chief priest of these the bodies are burned without the camp. | For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the holies by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. | For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest [as an offering] for sin, are burned without the camp. |
Hebrews 13:12 | Wherefore, also Jesus that he might sanctify through [his] own blood the people without the gate did suffer; | Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate. | Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate. |
Hebrews 13:13 | now, then, may we go forth unto him without the camp, his reproach bearing; | Let us go forth therefore to him without the camp, bearing his reproach. | Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. |
Hebrews 13:14 | for we have not here an abiding city, but the coming one we seek; | For we have not here a lasting city, but we seek one that is to come. | For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after [the city] which is to come. |
Hebrews 13:15 | through him, then, we may offer up a sacrifice of praise always to God, that is, the fruit of lips, giving thanks to His name; | By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise always to God, that is to say, the fruit of lips confessing to his name. | Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name. |
Hebrews 13:16 | and of doing good, and of fellowship, be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well-pleased. | And do not forget to do good, and to impart; for by such sacrifices God's favour is obtained. | But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. |
Hebrews 13:17 | Be obedient to those leading you, and be subject, for these do watch for your souls, as about to give account, that with joy they may do this, and not sighing, for this [is] unprofitable to you. | Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account of your souls; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you. | Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit [to them]: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this [were] unprofitable for you. |
