| Numbers 32:1 | And much cattle hath been to the sons of Reuben and to the sons of Gad, very many; and they see the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, and lo, the place [is] a place [for] cattle; | And the sons of Ruben and Gad had many flocks of cattle, and their substance in beasts was infinite. And when they saw the lands of Jazer and Galaad fit for feeding cattle, | Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a great number of cattle: and when they saw that the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead was a good place for cattle; |
| Numbers 32:2 | and the sons of Gad, and the sons of Reuben, come in and speak unto Moses, and unto Eleazar the priest, and unto the princes of the company, saying: | They came to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and the princes of the multitude, and said: | The children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and said to Moses and to Eleazar the priest and to the chiefs of the meeting, |

| Numbers 32:4 | the land which Jehovah hath smitten before the company of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle.` | The land, which the Lord hath conquered in the sight of the children of Israel, is a very fertile soil for the feeding of beasts: and we thy servants have very much cattle: | The land which the Lord gave into the hands of the children of Israel, is a land for cattle, and your servants have cattle. |
| Numbers 32:5 | And they say, `If we have found grace in thine eyes, let this land be given to thy servants for a possession; cause us not to pass over the Jordan.` | And we pray thee, if we have found favour in thy sight, that thou give it to us thy servants in possession, and make us not pass over the Jordan. | And they said, With your approval, let this land be given to your servants as their heritage: do not take us over Jordan. |
| Numbers 32:6 | And Moses saith to the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, `Do your brethren go in to the battle, and ye do ye sit here? | And Moses answered them: What, shall your brethren go to fight, and will you sit here? | And Moses said to the children of Gad and the children of Reuben, Are your brothers to go to the war, while you take your rest here? |
| Numbers 32:7 | and why discourage ye the heart of the sons of Israel from passing over unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them? | Why do ye overturn the minds of the children of Israel, that they may not dare to pass into the place which the Lord hath given them? | Why would you take from the children of Israel the desire to go over into the land which the Lord has given them? |
| Numbers 32:8 | `Thus did your fathers in my sending them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land; | Was it not thus your fathers did, when I sent from Cadesbarne to view the land? | So did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land. |
| Numbers 32:9 | and they go up unto the valley of Eshcol, and see the land, and discourage the heart of the sons of Israel so as not to go in unto the land which Jehovah hath given to them; | And when they were come as far as the valley of the cluster, having viewed all the country, they overturned the hearts of the children of Israel, that they should not enter into the coasts, which the Lord gave them. | For when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they took from the children of Israel the desire to go into the land which the Lord had given them. |
| Numbers 32:10 | and the anger of Jehovah burneth in that day, and He sweareth, saying, | And he swore in his anger, saying:. | And at that time the Lord was moved to wrath, and made an oath, saying, |
| Numbers 32:11 | They do not see the men who are coming up out of Egypt from a son of twenty years and upward the ground which I have sworn to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, for they have not been fully after Me; | If these men, that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land, which I promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: because they would not follow me, | Truly, not one of the men of twenty years old and over who came out of Egypt will see the land which I gave by oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; because they have not been true to me with all their heart; |
| Numbers 32:12 | save Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua son of Nun, for they have been fully after Jehovah; | Except Caleb the son of Jephone the Cenezite, and Josue the son of Nun: these have fulfilled my will. | But only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua, the son of Nun: because they have been true to the Lord. |
| Numbers 32:13 | and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He causeth them to wander in the wilderness forty years, until the consumption of all the generation which is doing the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah. | And the Lord being angry against Israel, led them about through the desert forty years, until the whole generation, that had done evil in his sight, was consumed. | Then the Lord was angry with Israel, and he made them wanderers in the waste land for forty years? till all that generation who had done evil in the eyes of the Lord was dead. |
| Numbers 32:14 | `And lo, ye have risen in the stead of your fathers, an increase of men sinners, to add yet to the fury of the anger of Jehovah toward Israel; | And behold, said he, you are risen up instead of your fathers, the increase and offspring of sinful men, to augment the fury of the Lord against Israel. | And now you have come to take the place of your fathers, another generation of sinners, increasing the wrath of the Lord against Israel. |
| Numbers 32:15 | when ye turn back from after Him, then He hath added yet to leave him in the wilderness, and ye have done corruptly to all this people.` | For if you will not follow him, he will leave the people in the wilderness, end you shall be the cause of the destruction of all. | For if you are turned away from him, he will send them wandering again in the waste land; and you will be the cause of the destruction of all this people. |
| Numbers 32:16 | And they come nigh unto him, and say, `Folds for the flock we build for our cattle here, and cities for our infants; | But they coming near, said: We will make sheepfolds, and stalls for our cattle, and strong cities for our children : | Then they came to him, and said, We will make safe places for our cattle here, and towns for our little ones; |
| Numbers 32:17 | and we we are armed hasting before the sons of Israel till that we have brought them in unto their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defence because of the inhabitants of the land; | And we ourselves will go armed and ready for battle before the children of Israel, until we bring them in unto their places. Our little ones, and all we have, shall be in walled cities, for fear of the ambushes of the inhabitants. | But we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel till we have taken them to their place: but our little ones will be safe in the walled towns against the people of the land. |
| Numbers 32:18 | we do not turn back unto our houses till the sons of Israel have inherited each his inheritance, | We will not return into our houses until the children of Israel possess their inheritance: | We will not come back to our houses till every one of the children of Israel has come into his heritage. |
| Numbers 32:19 | for we do not inherit with them beyond the Jordan and yonder, for our inheritance hath come unto us beyond the Jordan at the [sun]-rising.` | Neither will we seek any thing beyond the Jordan, because we have already our possession on the east side thereof, | For we will not have our heritage with them on the other side of Jordan and forward; because our heritage has come to us on this side of Jordan to the east. |
| Numbers 32:20 | And Moses saith unto them, `If ye do this thing: if ye are armed before Jehovah for battle, | And Moses said to them: If you do what you promise, go on well appointed for war before the Lord: | Then Moses said to them, If you will do this, arming yourselves to go before the Lord to the war, |
| Numbers 32:21 | and every armed one of you hath passed over the Jordan before Jehovah, till his dispossessing His enemies from before Him, | And let every fighting man pass over the Jordan, until the Lord overthrow his enemies : | Every armed man of you going across Jordan before the Lord till he has overcome and sent in flight all who are against him, |
| Numbers 32:22 | and the land hath been subdued before Jehovah then afterwards ye do turn back, and have been acquitted by Jehovah, and by Israel; and this land hath been to you for a possession before Jehovah. | And all the land be brought under him, then shall you be blameless before the Lord and before Israel, and you shall obtain the countries that you desire, before the Lord. | And the land is under the rule of the Lord: then after that you may come back, having done no wrong to the Lord and to Israel; and this land will be yours for your heritage before the Lord. |
| Numbers 32:23 | `And if ye do not so, lo, ye have sinned against Jehovah, and know ye your sin, that it doth find you; | But if you do not what you say, no man can doubt but you sin against God: and know ye, that your sin shall overtake you. | But if you do not do this, then you are sinners against the Lord; and you may be certain that your sin will have its reward. |
| Numbers 32:24 | build for yourselves cities for your infants, and folds for your flock, and that which is going out from your mouth do ye.` | Build therefore cities for your children, and folds and stalls for your sheep and beasts, and accomplish what you have promised. | So get to work building your towns for your little ones, and safe places for your sheep; and do as you have said. |
| Numbers 32:25 | And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben speak unto Moses, saying, `Thy servants do as my lord is commanding; | And the children of Gad and Ruben said to Moses: We are thy servants, we will do what my lord commandeth. | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben said to Moses, Your servants will do as my lord says. |
| Numbers 32:26 | our infants, our wives, our cattle, and all our beasts, are there in cities of Gilead, | We will leave our children, and our wives and sheep and cattle, in the cities of Galaad: | Our little ones, our wives, and our flocks, and all our cattle, will be there in the towns of Gilead; |
| Numbers 32:27 | and thy servants pass over, every armed one of the host, before Jehovah, to battle, as my lord is saying.` | And we thy servants all well appointed will march on to the war, as thou, my lord, speakest. | But your servants will go over, every man armed for war, before the Lord to the fight, as my lord says. |
| Numbers 32:28 | And Moses commandeth concerning them Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel; | Moses therefore commanded Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families of all the tribes of Israel, and said to them: | So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest and to Joshua, the son of Nun, and to the heads of families of the tribes of the children of Israel. |
| Numbers 32:29 | and Moses saith unto them, `If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben pass over with you the Jordan, every one armed for battle, before Jehovah, and the land hath been subdued before you, then ye have given to them the land of Gilead for a possession; | If the children of Gad, and the children of Ruben pass with you over the Jordan, all armed for war before the Lord, and the land be made subject to you: give them Galaad in possession. | And Moses said to them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben go with you over Jordan, every man armed for the fight before the Lord, and all the land is given into your hands, then let them have the land of Gilead for a heritage: |
| Numbers 32:30 | and if they do not pass over armed with you, then they have possessions in your midst in the land of Canaan.` | But if they will not pass armed with you into the land of Chanaan, let them receive places to dwell in among you. | But if they do not go over with you armed, they will have to take their heritage with you in the land of Canaan. |
| Numbers 32:31 | And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answer, saying, `That which Jehovah hath spoken unto thy servants so we do; | And the children of Gad, and the children of Ruben answered: As the Lord hath spoken to his servants, so will we do: | Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben said, As the Lord has said to your servants, so will we do. |
| Numbers 32:32 | we we pass over armed before Jehovah [to] the land of Canaan, and with us [is] the possession of our inheritance beyond the Jordan.` | We will go armed before the Lord into the land of Chanaan, and we confess that we have already received our possession beyond the Jordan. | We will go over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, and you will give us our heritage on this side of Jordan. |
| Numbers 32:33 | And Moses giveth to them, to the sons of Gad, and to the sons of Reuben, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorite, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land by its cities, in the borders, the cities of the land round about. | Moses therefore gave to the children of Cad and of Ruben, and to the half tribe of Manasses the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and the kingdom of Og king of Basan, and their land and the cities thereof round about. | So Moses gave to them, even to the children of Gad and the children of Reuben and to the half-tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites and Og, king of Bashan, all the land with its towns and the country round them. |
| Numbers 32:34 | And the sons of Gad build Dihon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, | And the sons of Cad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer, | And the children of Gad were the builders of Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer; |
| Numbers 32:35 | and Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah, | And Etroth, and Sophan, and Jazer, and Jegbaa, | And Atroth-shophan and Jazer and Jogbehah; |
| Numbers 32:36 | and Beth-Nimrah, and Beth-Haran, cities of defence, and sheepfolds. | And Bethnemra, and Betharan, fenced cities, and folds for their cattle. | And Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran: walled towns and shut-in places for sheep. |
| Numbers 32:37 | And the sons of Reuben have build Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim, | But the children of Ruben built Hesebon, and Eleale, and Cariathaim, | And the children of Reuben were the builders of Heshbon and Elealeh and Kiriathaim; |
| Numbers 32:38 | and Nebo, and Baal-Meon (changed in name), and Shibmah, and they call by [these] names the names of the cities which they have built. | And Nabo, and Baalmeon (their names being changed) and Sabama: giving names to the cities which they had built. | And Nebo and Baal-meon, (their names being changed,) and Sibmah: and they gave other names to the towns they made. |
| Numbers 32:39 | And sons of Machir son of Manasseh go to Gilead, and capture it, and dispossess the Amorite, who [is] in it; | Moreover the children of Machir, the son of Manasses, went into Galaad, and wasted it, cutting off the Amorrhites, the inhabitants thereof. | And the children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, went to Gilead and took it, driving out the Amorites who were living there. |
| Numbers 32:40 | and Moses giveth Gilead to Machir son of Manasseh, and he dwelleth in it. | And Moses gave the land of Galaad to Machir the son of Manasses, and he dwelt in it. | And Moses gave Gilead to Machir, the son of Manasseh; and he made it his living-place. |
| Numbers 32:41 | And Jair son of Manasseh hath gone and captureth their towns, and calleth them `Towns of Jair;` | And Jair the son of Manasses went, and took the villages thereof, and he called them Havoth Jair, that is to say, the villages of Jair. | And Jair, the son of Manasseh, went and took the towns of Gilead, naming them Havvoth-Jair. |
| Numbers 32:42 | and Nobah hath gone and captureth Kenath, and its villages, and calleth it Nobah, by his own name. | Nobe also went, and took Canath with the villages thereof: and he called it by his own name, Nobe. | And Nobah went and took Kenath and its small towns, naming it Nobah, after himself. |
