 The Young's Literal Translation Online Bible (YLT)The Douay Rheims Online Bible (DRV)The Basic English Online Bible (BAS)
Philemon 1:1Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timotheus the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother: to Philemon, our beloved and fellow labourer;Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon, our dear helper in the faith,
Philemon 1:2and Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and the assembly in thy house:And to Appia, our dearest sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in thy house:And to Apphia, our sister, and to Archippus, our brother in God's army, and to the church in your house:
Philemon 1:3Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philemon 1:4I give thanks to my God, always making mention of thee in my prayers,I give thanks to my God, always making a remembrance of thee in my prayers.I give praise to God at all times and make prayer for you,
Philemon 1:5hearing of thy love and faith that thou hast unto the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,Hearing of thy charity and faith, which thou hast in the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints:Hearing of the love and the faith which you have to the Lord Jesus and to all the saints;
Philemon 1:6that the fellowship of thy faith may become working in the full knowledge of every good thing that [is] in you toward Christ Jesus;That the communication of thy faith may be made evident in the acknowledgment of every good work, that is in you in Christ Jesus.That the faith which you have in common with them may be working with power, in the knowledge of every good thing in you, for Christ.
Philemon 1:7for we have much joy and comfort in thy love, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.For I have had great joy and consolation in thy charity, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed by thee, brother.For I had great joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been made strong again through you, brother.
Philemon 1:8Wherefore, having in Christ much boldness to command thee that which is fitWherefore though I have much confidence in Christ Jesus, to command thee that which is to the purpose:And so, though I might, in the name of Christ, give you orders to do what is right,
Philemon 1:9because of the love I rather entreat, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;For charity sake I rather beseech, whereas thou art such a one, as Paul an old man, and now a prisoner also of Jesus Christ.Still, because of love, in place of an order, I make a request to you, I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner of Christ Jesus:
Philemon 1:10I entreat thee concerning my child whom I did beget in my bonds Onesimus,I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,My request is for my child Onesimus, the child of my chains,
Philemon 1:11who once was to thee unprofitable, and now is profitable to me and to thee,Who hath been heretofore unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable both to me and thee,Who in the past was of no profit to you, but now is of profit to you and to me:
Philemon 1:12whom I did send again, and thou him (that is, my own bowels) receive,Whom I have sent back to thee. And do thou receive him as my own bowels.Whom I have sent back to you, him who is my very heart:
Philemon 1:13whom I did wish to retain to myself, that in thy behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of the good news,Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bands of the gospel:Though my desire was to keep him with me, to be my servant in the chains of the good news, in your place:
Philemon 1:14and apart from thy mind I willed to do nothing, that as of necessity thy good deed may not be, but of willingness,But without thy counsel I would do nothing: that thy good deed might not be as it were of necessity, but voluntary.But without your approval I would do nothing; so that your good works might not be forced, but done freely from your heart.
Philemon 1:15for perhaps because of this he did depart for an hour, that age-duringly thou mayest have him,For perhaps he therefore departed for a season from thee, that thou mightest receive him again for ever:For it is possible that for this reason he was parted from you for a time, so that you might have him for ever;
Philemon 1:16no more as a servant, but above a servant a brother beloved, especially to me, and how much more to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord!Not now as a servant, but instead of a servant, a most dear brother, especially to me: but how much more to thee both in the flesh and in the Lord?No longer as a servant, but more than a servant, a brother, very dear to me specially, but much more to you, in the flesh as well as in the Lord.
Philemon 1:17If, then, with me thou hast fellowship, receive him as me,If therefore thou count me a partner, receive him as myself.If then you take me to be your friend and brother, take him in as myself.
Philemon 1:18and if he did hurt to thee, or doth owe anything, this to me be reckoning;And if he hath wronged thee in any thing, or is in thy debt, put that to my account.If he has done you any wrong or is in debt to you for anything, put it to my account.
Philemon 1:19I, Paul did write with my hand, I I will repay; that I may not say that also thyself, besides, to me thou dost owe.I Paul have written it with my own hand: I will repay it: not to say to thee, that thou owest me thy own self also.I, Paul, writing this myself, say, I will make payment to you: and I do not say to you that you are in debt to me even for your life.
Philemon 1:20Yes, brother, may I have profit of thee in the Lord; refresh my bowels in the Lord;Yea, brother. May I enjoy thee in the Lord. Refresh my bowels in the Lord.So brother, let me have joy of you in the Lord: give new life to my heart in Christ.
Philemon 1:21having been confident in thy obedience I did write to thee, having known that also above what I may say thou wilt do;Trusting in thy obedience, I have written to thee: knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.Being certain that you will do my desire, I am writing to you, in the knowledge that you will do even more than I say.
Philemon 1:22and at the same time also prepare for me a lodging, for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted to you.But withal prepare me also a lodging. For I hope that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.And make a room ready for me; for I am hoping that through your prayers I will be given to you.
Philemon 1:23Salute thee doth Epaphras, (my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus,)There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus;Epaphras, my brother-prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you his love;
Philemon 1:24Markus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lukas, my fellow-workmen!Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke my fellow labourers.And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my brother-workers.
Philemon 1:25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with your spirit! Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. So be it.
