Jonah 2:1And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish. Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
Jonah 2:2And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish. And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
Jonah 2:3When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice. For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Jonah 2:4And I I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
Jonah 2:5Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head. And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again. The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
Jonah 2:6To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
Jonah 2:7In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
Jonah 2:8Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake. When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple. They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
Jonah 2:9And I with a voice of thanksgiving I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah. They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
Jonah 2:10And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land. But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord. And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
