Hebrews 9:1It had, indeed, then (even the first tabernacle) ordinances of service, also a worldly sanctuary,The former indeed had also justifications of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:2for a tabernacle was prepared, the first, in which was both the lamp-stand, and the table, and the bread of the presence which is called `Holy;`For there was a tabernacle made the first, wherein were the candlesticks, and the table, and the setting forth of loaves, which is called the holy.For there was a tabernacle made; the first, in which was the candlestick, and the table, and the show-bread; which is called the sanctuary.
Hebrews 9:3and after the second vail a tabernacle that is called `Holy of holies,`And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holy of holies:And after the second vail, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
Hebrews 9:4having a golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid all round about with gold, in which [is] the golden pot having the manna, and the rod of Aaron that budded, and the tables of the covenant,Having a golden censer, and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna, and the rod of Aaron, that had blossomed, and the tables of the testament.Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid around with gold, in which was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
Hebrews 9:5and over it cherubim of the glory, overshadowing the mercy-seat, concerning which we are not now to speak particularly.And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.And over it the cherubim of glory shadowing the mercy-seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
Hebrews 9:6And these things having been thus prepared, into the first tabernacle, indeed, at all times the priests do go in, performing the services,Now these things being thus ordered, into the first tabernacle the priests indeed always entered, accomplishing the offices of sacrifices.Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God:
Hebrews 9:7and into the second, once in the year, only the chief priest, not apart from blood, which he doth offer for himself and the errors of the people,But into the second, the high priest alone, once a year: not without blood, which he offereth for his own, and the people's ignorance:But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
Hebrews 9:8the Holy Spirit this evidencing that not yet hath been manifested the way of the holy [places], the first tabernacle having yet a standing;The Holy Ghost signifying this, that the way into the holies was not yet made manifest, whilst the former tabernacle was yet standing.The Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing:
Hebrews 9:9which [is] a simile in regard to the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered, which are not able, in regard to conscience, to make perfect him who is serving,Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which can not, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks,Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
Hebrews 9:10only in victuals, and drinks, and different baptisms, and fleshly ordinances till the time of reformation imposed upon [them].And divers washings, and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:11And Christ being come, chief priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands that is, not of this creationBut Christ, being come an high priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hand, that is, not of this creation:But Christ being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Hebrews 9:12neither through blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, did enter in once into the holy places, age-during redemption having obtained;Neither by the blood of goats, or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the holies, having obtained eternal redemption.Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood; he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Hebrews 9:13for if the blood of bulls, and goats, and ashes of an heifer, sprinkling those defiled, doth sanctify to the purifying of the flesh,For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctify to the purifying of the flesh:
Hebrews 9:14how much more shall the blood of the Christ (who through the age-during Spirit did offer himself unblemished to God) purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 9:15And because of this, of a new covenant he is mediator, that, death having come, for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those called may receive the promise of the age-during inheritance,And therefore he is the mediator of the new testament: that by means of his death, for the redemption of those trangressions, which were under the former testament, they that are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16for where a covenant [is], the death of the covenant-victim to come in is necessary,For where there is a testament, the death of the testator must of necessity come in.For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Hebrews 9:17for a covenant over dead victims [is] stedfast, since it is no force at all when the covenant-victim liveth,For a testament is of force, after men are dead: otherwise it is as yet of no strength, whilst the testator liveth.For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Hebrews 9:18whence not even the first apart from blood hath been initiated,Whereupon neither was the first indeed dedicated without blood.Hence even the first testament was not dedicated without blood.
Hebrews 9:19for every command having been spoken, according to law, by Moses, to all the people, having taken the blood of the calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, he both the book itself and all the people did sprinkle,For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people,
Hebrews 9:20saying, `This [is] the blood of the covenant that God enjoined unto you,`Saying: This is the blood of the testament, which God hath enjoined unto you.Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined to you.
Hebrews 9:21and both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the service with blood in like manner he did sprinkle,The tabernacle also and all the vessels of the ministry, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood.Moreover, he sprinkled likewise with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
Hebrews 9:22and with blood almost all things are purified according to the law, and apart from blood-shedding forgiveness doth not come.And almost all things, according to the law, are cleansed with blood: and without shedding of blood there is no remission.And almost all things are by the law cleansed with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebrews 9:23[It is] necessary, therefore, the pattern indeed of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, and the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these;It is necessary therefore that the patterns of heavenly things should be cleansed with these: but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebrews 9:24for not into holy places made with hands did the Christ enter figures of the true but into the heaven itself, now to be manifested in the presence of God for us;For Jesus is not entered into the holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.For Christ hath not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
Hebrews 9:25nor that he may many times offer himself, even as the chief priest doth enter into the holy places every year with blood of others;Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holies, every year with the blood of others:Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Hebrews 9:26since it had behoved him many times to suffer from the foundation of the world, but now once, at the full end of the ages, for putting away of sin through his sacrifice, he hath been manifested;For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world: but now once at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin, by the sacrifice of himself.For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebrews 9:27and as it is laid up to men once to die, and after this judgment,And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:28so also the Christ, once having been offered to bear the sins of many, a second time, apart from a sin-offering, shall appear, to those waiting for him to salvation!So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many; the second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him he will appear the second time without sin to salvation.
