Luke 10:1And after these things, the Lord did appoint also other seventy, and sent them by twos before his face, to every city and place whither he himself was about to come,And after these things the Lord appointed also other seventy-two: and he sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself was to come.After these things, the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city, and place, whither he himself would come.
Luke 10:2then said he unto them, `The harvest indeed [is] abundant, but the workmen few; beseech ye then the Lord of the harvest, that He may put forth workmen to His harvest.And he said to them: The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send labourers into his harvest.Therefore said he to them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.
Luke 10:3`Go away; lo, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves;Go: Behold I send you as lambs among wolves.Go: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Luke 10:4carry no bag, no scrip, nor sandals; and salute no one on the way;Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes; and salute no man by the way.Carry neither purse, nor sack, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Luke 10:5and into whatever house ye do enter, first say, Peace to this house;Into whatsoever house you enter, first say: Peace be to this house.And into whatever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
Luke 10:6and if indeed there may be there the son of peace, rest on it shall your peace; and if not so, upon you it shall turn back.And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you.And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
Luke 10:7`And in that house remain, eating and drinking the things they have, for worthy [is] the workman of his hire; go not from house to house,And in the same house, remain, eating and drinking such things as they have: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Remove not from house to house.And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Luke 10:8and into whatever city ye enter, and they may receive you, eat the things set before you,And into what city soever you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.And into whatever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.
Luke 10:9and heal the ailing in it, and say to them, The reign of God hath come nigh to you.And heal the sick that are therein, and say to them: The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.And heal the sick that are therein, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come nigh to you.
Luke 10:10`And into whatever city ye do enter, and they may not receive you, having gone forth to its broad places, say,But into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you not, going forth into the streets thereof, say:But into whatever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go out into the streets of the same, and say,
Luke 10:11And the dust that hath cleaved to us, from your city, we do wipe off against you, but this know ye, that the reign of God hath come nigh to you;Even the very dust of your city that cleaveth to us, we wipe off against you. Yet know this, that the kingdom of God is at hand.Even the very dust of your city which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding, be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh to you.
Luke 10:12and I say to you, that for Sodom in that day it shall be more tolerable than for that city.I say to you, it shall be more tolerable at that day for Sodom, than for that city.But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
Luke 10:13`Wo to thee, Chorazin; wo to thee, Bethsaida; for if in Tyre and Sidon had been done the mighty works that were done in you, long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes, they had reformed;Woe to thee, Corozain, woe to thee, Bethsaida. For if in Tyre and Sidon had been wrought the mighty works that have been wrought in you, they would have done penance long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Luke 10:14but for Tyre and Sidon it shall be more tolerable in the judgment than for you.But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgement, than for you.But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
Luke 10:15`And thou, Capernaum, which unto the heaven wast exalted, unto hades thou shalt be brought down.And thou, Capharnaum, which art exalted unto heaven, thou shalt be thrust down to hell.And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.
Luke 10:16`He who is hearing you, doth hear me; and he who is putting you away, doth put me away; and he who is putting me away, doth put away Him who sent me.`He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.
Luke 10:17And the seventy turned back with joy, saying, `Sir, and the demons are being subjected to us in thy name;`And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: Lord, the devils also are subject to us in thy name.And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us through thy name.
Luke 10:18and he said to them, `I was beholding the Adversary, as lightning from the heaven having fallen;And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightening falling from heaven.And he said to them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Luke 10:19lo, I give to you the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and on all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall hurt you;Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you.Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:20but, in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subjected to you, but rejoice rather that your names were written in the heavens.`But yet rejoice not in this, that spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:21In that hour was Jesus glad in the Spirit, and said, `I do confess to thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that Thou didst hide these things from wise men and understanding, and didst reveal them to babes; yes, Father, because so it became good pleasure before Thee.In that same hour, he rejoiced in the Holy Ghost, and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to little ones. Yea, Father, for so it hath seemed good in thy sight.In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Luke 10:22`All things were delivered up to me by my Father, and no one doth know who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whom the Son may wish to reveal [Him].`All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and to whom the Son will reveal him.All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Luke 10:23And having turned unto the disciples, he said, by themselves, `Happy the eyes that are perceiving what ye perceive;And turning to his disciples, he said: Blessed are the eyes that see the things which you see.And he turned himself to his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see.
Luke 10:24for I say to you, that many prophets and kings did wish to see what ye perceive, and did not see, and to hear what ye hear, and did not hear.`For I say to you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them; and to hear the things that you hear, and have not heard them.For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear the things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Luke 10:25And lo, a certain lawyer stood up, trying him, and saying, `Teacher, what having done, life age-during shall I inherit?`And behold a certain lawyer stood up, tempting him, and saying, Master, what must I do to possess eternal life?And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Luke 10:26And he said unto him, `In the law what hath been written? how dost thou read?`But he said to him: What is written in the law? how readest thou?He said to him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
Luke 10:27And he answering said, `Thou shalt love the Lord thy God out of all thy heart, and out of all thy soul, and out of all thy strength, and out of all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.`He answering, said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbour as thyself.And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
Luke 10:28And he said to him, `Rightly thou didst answer; this do, and thou shalt live.`And he said to him: Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Luke 10:29And he, willing to declare himself righteous, said unto Jesus, `And who is my neighbour?`But he willing to justify himself, said to Jesus: And who is my neighbour?But he, willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
Luke 10:30and Jesus having taken up [the word], said, `A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and having stripped him and inflicted blows, they went away, leaving [him] half dead.And Jesus answering, said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who also stripped him, and having wounded him went away, leaving him half dead.And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Luke 10:31`And by a coincidence a certain priest was going down in that way, and having seen him, he passed over on the opposite side;And it chanced, that a certain priest went down the same way: and seeing him, passed by.And by chance there came down a certain priest that way; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Luke 10:32and in like manner also, a Levite, having been about the place, having come and seen, passed over on the opposite side.In like manner also a Levite, when he was near the place and saw him, passed by.And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
Luke 10:33`But a certain Samaritan, journeying, came along him, and having seen him, he was moved with compassion,But a certain Samaritan being on his journey, came near him; and seeing him, was moved with compassion.But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came were he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
Luke 10:34and having come near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and having lifted him up on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and was careful of him;And going up to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine: and setting him upon his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Luke 10:35and on the morrow, going forth, taking out two denaries, he gave to the innkeeper, and said to him, Be careful of him, and whatever thou mayest spend more, I, in my coming again, will give back to thee.And the next day he took out two pence, and gave to the host, and said: Take care of him; and whatsoever thou shalt spend over and above, I, at my return, will repay thee.And on the morrow, when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him: and whatever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Luke 10:36`Who, then, of these three, seemeth to thee to have become neighbour of him who fell among the robbers?`Which of these three, in thy opinion, was neighbour to him that fell among the robbers?Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers?
Luke 10:37and he said, `He who did the kindness with him,` then Jesus said to him, `Be going on, and thou be doing in like manner.`But he said: He that shewed mercy to him. And Jesus said to him: Go, and do thou in like manner.And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go, and do thou likewise.
Luke 10:38And it came to pass, in their going on, that he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman, by name Martha, did receive him into her house,Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain town: and a certain woman named Martha, received him into her house.Now it came to pass, as they were going, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her house.
Luke 10:39and she had also a sister, called Mary, who also, having seated herself beside the feet of Jesus, was hearing the word,And she had a sister called Mary, who sitting also at the Lord's feet, heard his word.And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
Luke 10:40and Martha was distracted about much serving, and having stood by him, she said, `Sir, dost thou not care that my sister left me alone to serve? say then to her, that she may partake along with me.`But Martha was busy about much serving. Who stood and said: Lord, hast thou no care that my sister hath left me alone to serve? speak to her therefore, that she help me.But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
Luke 10:41And Jesus answering said to her, `Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and disquieted about many things,And the Lord answering, said to her: Martha, Martha, thou art careful, and art troubled about many things:And Jesus answered, and said to her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious, and troubled about many things:
Luke 10:42but of one thing there is need, and Mary the good part did choose, that shall not be taken away from her.`But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.But one thing is needful; and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
