Matthew 10:3Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax-gatherer; James of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was surnamed Thaddeus;James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus,Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew, the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
Matthew 10:4Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who did also deliver him up.Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Matthew 10:5These twelve did Jesus send forth, having given command to them, saying, `To the way of the nations go not away, and into a city of the Samaritans go not in,These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not.Jesus sent these twelve forth, and charged them, saying, "Don't go among the Gentiles, and don't enter into any city of the Samaritans.
Matthew 10:6and be going rather unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.But go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matthew 10:7`And, going on, proclaim saying that, the reign of the heavens hath come nigh;And going, preach, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand.As you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.'
Matthew 10:8infirm ones be healing, lepers be cleansing, dead be raising, demons be casting out freely ye did receive, freely give.Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give.Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
Matthew 10:9`Provide not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your girdles,Do not possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your purses:Don't take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.
Matthew 10:10nor scrip for the way, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staff for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.Nor scrip for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor a staff; for the workman is worthy of his meat.Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
Matthew 10:11`And into whatever city or village ye may enter, inquire ye who in it is worthy, and there abide, till ye may go forth.And into whatsoever city or town you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide till you go thence.Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
Matthew 10:12And coming to the house salute it,And when you come into the house, salute it, saying: Peace be to this house.As you enter into the household, greet it.
Matthew 10:13and if indeed the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; and if it be not worthy, let your peace turn back to you.And if that house be worthy, your peace shall come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace shall return to you.If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn't worthy, let your peace return to you.
Matthew 10:14`And whoever may not receive you nor hear your words, coming forth from that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet,And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet.Whoever doesn't receive you, nor hear your words, as you go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Matthew 10:15verily I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.Most assuredly I tell you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Matthew 10:16`Lo, I do send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, be ye therefore wise as the serpents, and simple as the doves.Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves.Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:17And, take ye heed of men, for they will give you up to sanhedrims, and in their synagogues they will scourge you,But beware of men. For they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
Matthew 10:18and before governors and kings ye shall be brought for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.And you shall be brought before governors, and before kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles:Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
Matthew 10:19`And whenever they may deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye may speak, for it shall be given you in that hour what ye shall speak;But when they shall deliver you up, take no thought how or what to speak: for it shall be given you in that hour what to speak.But when they deliver you up, don't be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
Matthew 10:20for ye are not the speakers, but the Spirit of your Father that is speaking in you.For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you.For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Matthew 10:21`And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child, and children shall rise up against parents, and shall put them to death,The brother also shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the son: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and shall put them to death.Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
Matthew 10:22and ye shall be hated by all because of my name, but he who hath endured to the end, he shall be saved.And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.
Matthew 10:23`And whenever they may persecute you in this city, flee to the other, for verily I say to you, ye may not have completed the cities of Israel till the Son of Man may come.And when they shall persecute you in this city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you shall not finish all the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come.But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most assuredly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.
Matthew 10:24`A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his lord;The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above his lord."A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
Matthew 10:25sufficient to the disciple that he may be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord; if the master of the house they did call Beelzeboul, how much more those of his household?It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the goodman of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more them of his household!
Matthew 10:26`Ye may not, therefore, fear them, for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed, and hid, that shall not be known;Therefore fear them not. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed: nor hid, that shall not be known.Therefore don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; and hidden, that will not be known.
Matthew 10:27that which I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light, and that which you hear at the ear, proclaim on the house-tops.That which I tell you in the dark, speak ye in the light: and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye upon the housetops.What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
Matthew 10:28`And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Matthew 10:29`Are not two sparrows sold for an assar? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father;Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father."Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will,
Matthew 10:30and of you even the hairs of the head are all numbered;But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matthew 10:31be not therefore afraid, than many sparrows ye are better.Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows.Therefore don't be afraid, you are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:32`Every one, therefore, who shall confess in me before men, I also will confess in him before my Father who is in the heavens;Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:33and whoever shall deny me before men, I also will deny him before my Father who is in the heavens.But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.But whoever denies me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:34`Ye may not suppose that I came to put peace on the earth; I did not come to put peace, but a sword;Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword."Don't think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn't come to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35for I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law,For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36and the enemies of a man are those of his household.And as a man's enemies shall be they of his own household.A man's foes will be those of his own household.
Matthew 10:37`He who is loving father or mother above me, is not worthy of me, and he who is loving son or daughter above me, is not worthy of me,He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me.
Matthew 10:38and whoever doth not receive his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me.He who doesn't take his cross and follow after me, isn't worthy of me.
Matthew 10:39`He who found his life shall lose it, and he who lost his life for my sake shall find it.He that findeth his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it.He who finds his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 10:40`He who is receiving you doth receive me, and he who is receiving me doth receive Him who sent me,He that receiveth you, receiveth me: and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
Matthew 10:41he who is receiving a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet`s reward, and he who is receiving a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man`s reward,He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet: and he that receiveth a just man in the name of a just man, shall receive the reward of a just man.He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward: and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
Matthew 10:42and whoever may give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say to you, he may not lose his reward.`And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink, in the name of a disciple, most assuredly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."
