John 7:1And Jesus was walking after these things in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him,After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. After this, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee. He did not go about in Judaea, because the Jews were looking for a chance to put him to death.
John 7:2and the feast of the Jews was nigh that of tabernaclesNow the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. But the feast of the Jews, the feast of tents, was near.
John 7:3his brethren, therefore, said unto him, `Remove hence, and go away to Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works that thou dost; His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. So his brothers said to him, Go away from here into Judaea so that your disciples may see the works which you do.
John 7:4for no one in secret doth anything, and himself seeketh to be in public; if thou dost these things manifest thyself to the world;`For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. Because no man does things secretly if he has a desire that men may have knowledge of him. If you do these things, let yourself be seen by all men.
John 7:5for not even were his brethren believing in him.For neither did his brethren believe in him. For even his brothers had no belief in him.
John 7:6Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `My time is not yet present, but your time is always ready; Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. Jesus said to them, My time is still to come, but any time is good for you.
John 7:7the world is not able to hate you, but me it doth hate, because I testify concerning it that its works are evil. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. It is not possible for you to be hated by the world; but I am hated by it, because I give witness that what it does is evil.
John 7:8Ye go ye up to this feast; I do not yet go up to this feast, because my time hath not yet been fulfilled;`Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. Go you up to the feast: I am not going up now to the feast because my time has not fully come.
John 7:9and saying these things to them, he remained in Galilee. When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. Having said these things to them, he still kept in Galilee.
John 7:10And when his brethren went up, then also he himself went up to the feast, not manifestly, but as in secret; But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he went up, not publicly, but in secret.
John 7:11the Jews, therefore, were seeking him, in the feast, and said, `Where is that one?`Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? At the feast the Jews were looking for him and saying, Where is he?
John 7:12and there was much murmuring about him among the multitudes, some indeed said `He is good;` and others said, `No, but he leadeth astray the multitude;`And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. And there was much discussion about him among the mass of the people. Some said, He is a good man; but others said, No, he is giving people false ideas.
John 7:13no one, however, was speaking freely about him, through fear of the Jews.Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. But no man said anything about him openly for fear of the Jews.
John 7:14And it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple, and he was teaching,Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. Now in the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the Temple and was teaching.
John 7:15and the Jews were wondering, saying, `How hath this one known letters not having learned?`And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Then the Jews were surprised and said, How has this man got knowledge of books? He has never been to school.
John 7:16Jesus answered them and said, `My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me;Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. Jesus gave them this answer: It is not my teaching, but his who sent me.
John 7:17if any one may will to do His will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or I do speak from myself. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. If any man is ready to do God's pleasure he will have knowledge of the teaching and of where it comes from from God or from myself.
John 7:18`He who is speaking from himself his own glory doth seek, but he who is seeking the glory of him who sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him;He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. The man whose words come from himself is looking for glory for himself, but he who is looking for the glory of him who sent him that man is true and there is no evil in him.
John 7:19hath not Moses given you the law? and none of you doth the law; why me do ye seek to kill?`Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? Did not Moses give you the law? Even so, not one of you keeps the law. Why have you a desire to put me to death?
John 7:20The multitude answered and said, `Thou hast a demon, who doth seek to kill thee?`The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? The people said in answer, You have an evil spirit: who has any desire to put you to death?
John 7:21Jesus answered and said to them, `One work I did, and ye all wonder,Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. This was the answer of Jesus: I have done one work and you are all surprised at it.
John 7:22because of this, Moses hath given you the circumcision not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers and on a sabbath ye circumcise a man;Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. Moses gave you circumcision not that it comes from Moses, but from the fathers and even on the Sabbath you give a child circumcision.
John 7:23if a man doth receive circumcision on a sabbath that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye wroth with me that I made a man all whole on a sabbath? If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? If a child is given circumcision on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
John 7:24judge not according to appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.`Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Let not your decisions be based on what you see, but on righteousness.
John 7:25Certain, therefore, of the Jerusalemites said, `Is not this he whom they are seeking to kill? Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, Is not this the man whose death is desired?
John 7:26and, lo, he doth speak freely, and they say nothing to him; did the rulers at all know truly that this is truly the Christ? But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? And here he is talking openly and they say nothing to him! Is it possible that the rulers have knowledge that this is truly the Christ?
John 7:27but this one we have known whence he is; and the Christ, when he doth come, no one doth know whence he is.`Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. However, it is clear to us where this man comes from: but when the Christ comes no one will have knowledge where he comes from.
John 7:28Jesus cried, therefore, in the temple, teaching and saying, `Ye have both known me, and ye have known whence I am; and I have not come of myself, but He who sent me is true, whom ye have not known; Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. Then, when he was teaching in the Temple, Jesus said with a loud voice, You have knowledge of me and you have knowledge of where I come from; and I have not come of myself; but there is One who has sent me; he is true, but you have no knowledge of him.

This discussion of the people came to the ears of the Pharisees; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent servants to take him.
John 7:33Jesus, therefore, said to them, `Yet a little time I am with you, and I go away unto Him who sent me;Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Then Jesus said, I will be with you a little longer and then I go to him who sent me.
John 7:34ye will seek me, and ye shall not find; and where I am, ye are not able to come.`Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. You will be looking for me, and you will not see me: and where I am you may not come.
John 7:35The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, `Whither is this one about to go that we shall not find him? to the dispersion of the Greeks is he about to go? and to teach the Greeks; Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? So the Jews said among themselves, To what place is he going where we will not see him? will he go to the Jews living among the Greeks and become the teacher of the Greeks?
John 7:36what is this word that he said, Ye will seek me, and ye shall not find? and, Where I am, ye are not able to come?`What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? What is this saying of his, You will be looking for me and will not see me, and where I am you may not come?
John 7:37And in the last, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, `If any one doth thirst, let him come unto me and drink; In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus got up and said in a loud voice, If any man is in need of drink let him come to me and I will give it to him.
John 7:38he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;`He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. He who has faith in me, out of his body, as the Writings have said, will come rivers of living water.
John 7:39and this he said of the Spirit, which those believing in him were about to receive; for not yet was the Holy Spirit, because Jesus was not yet glorified.(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) This he said of the Spirit which would be given to those who had faith in him: the Spirit had not been given then, because the glory of Jesus was still to come.
John 7:40Many, therefore out of the multitude, having heard the word, said, `This is truly the Prophet;`Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. When these words came to their ears, some of the people said, This is certainly the prophet.
John 7:41others said, `This is the Christ;` and others said, `Why, out of Galilee doth the Christ come?Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Others said, This is the Christ. But others said, Not so; will the Christ come from Galilee?
John 7:42Did not the Writing say, that out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem the village where David was the Christ doth come?`Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? Do not the Writings say that the Christ comes of the seed of David and from Beth-lehem, the little town where David was?
John 7:43A division, therefore, arose among the multitude because of him.So there was a division among the people because of him. So there was a division among the people because of him.

Then the servants went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, Why have you not got him with you?

John 7:51`Doth our law judge the man, if it may not hear from him first, and know what he doth?`Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? Is a man judged by our law before it has given him a hearing and has knowledge of what he has done?
John 7:52They answered and said to him, `Art thou also out of Galilee? search and see, that a prophet out of Galilee hath not risen;`They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. This was their answer: And do you come from Galilee? Make search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.
