| Matthew 3:1 | And in those days cometh John the Baptist, proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea, | In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, | And in those days John the Baptist came preaching in the waste land of Judaea, |
| Matthew 3:2 | and saying, `Reform, for come nigh hath the reign of the heavens,` | And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. | Saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin; for the kingdom of heaven is near. |
