| Acts 5:1 | And a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, | But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, | There was a man of the name of Ananias who, with his wife Sapphira, sold some property but, |
| Acts 5:2 | and did keep back of the price his wife also knowing and having brought a certain part, at the feet of the apostles he laid [it]. | And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. | with her full knowledge and consent, dishonestly kept back part of the price which he received for it, though he brought the rest and gave it to the Apostles. |
| Acts 5:3 | And Peter said, `Ananias, wherefore did the Adversary fill thy heart, for thee to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back of the price of the place? | But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? | "Ananias," said Peter, "why has Satan taken possession of your heart, that you should try to deceive the Holy Spirit and dishonestly keep back part of the price paid you for this land? |
