John 3:1And there was a man of the Pharisees, Nicodemus his name, a ruler of the Jews,There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
John 3:2this one came unto him by night, and said to him, `Rabbi, we have known that from God thou hast come a teacher, for no one these signs is able to do that thou dost, if God may not be with him.`The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. The same came to him by night, and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him."
John 3:3Jesus answered and said to him, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born from above, he is not able to see the reign of God;`Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jesus answered him, "Most assuredly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the kingdom of God."
John 3:4Nicodemus saith unto him, `How is a man able to be born, being old? is he able into the womb of his mother a second time to enter, and to be born?`Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
John 3:5Jesus answered, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born of water, and the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the reign of God;Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus answered, "Most assuredly I tell you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he can't enter into the kingdom of God!
John 3:6that which hath been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which hath been born of the Spirit is spirit.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:7`Thou mayest not wonder that I said to thee, It behoveth you to be born from above;Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Don't marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born anew.'
John 3:8the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit.`The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
John 3:9Nicodemus answered and said to him, `How are these things able to happen?`Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Nicodemus answered him, "How can these things be?"
John 3:10Jesus answered and said to him, `Thou art the teacher of Israel and these things thou dost not know!Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and don't understand these things?
John 3:11`Verily, verily, I say to thee What we have known we speak, and what we have seen we testify, and our testimony ye do not receive;Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. Most assuredly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don't receive our witness.
John 3:12if the earthly things I said to you, and ye do not believe, how, if I shall say to you the heavenly things, will ye believe?If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? If I told you earthly things and you don't believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
John 3:13and no one hath gone up to the heaven, except he who out of the heaven came down the Son of Man who is in the heaven.And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
John 3:14`And as Moses did lift up the serpent in the wilderness, so it behoveth the Son of Man to be lifted up,And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
John 3:15that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during,That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16for God did so love the world, that His Son the only begotten He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:17For God did not send His Son to the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him;For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
John 3:18he who is believing in him is not judged, but he who is not believing hath been judged already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn't believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
John 3:19`And this is the judgment, that the light hath come to the world, and men did love the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil;And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.
John 3:20for every one who is doing wicked things hateth the light, and doth not come unto the light, that his works may not be detected;For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn't come to the light, for fear that his works would be reproved.
John 3:21but he who is doing the truth doth come to the light, that his works may be manifested, that in God they are having been wrought.`But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done with God."
John 3:22After these things came Jesus and his disciples to the land of Judea, and there he did tarry with them, and was baptizing;After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them, and baptized.
John 3:23and John was also baptizing in Aenon, nigh to Salem, because there were many waters there, and they were coming and were being baptizedAnd John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were baptized.
John 3:24for John was not yet cast into the prisonFor John was not yet cast into prison. For John was not yet thrown into prison.
John 3:25there arose then a question from the disciples of John with [some] Jews about purifying,Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John's disciples with some Jews about purification.
John 3:26and they came unto John, and said to him, `Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou didst testify, lo, this one is baptizing, and all are coming unto him.`And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. They came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same baptizes, and all men come to him."
John 3:27John answered and said, `A man is not able to receive anything, if it may not have been given him from the heaven;John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. John answered, "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.
John 3:28ye yourselves do testify to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am having been sent before him;Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. You yourselves testify about me, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before him.'
John 3:29he who is having the bride is bridegroom, and the friend of the bridegroom, who is standing and hearing him, with joy doth rejoice because of the voice of the bridegroom; this, then, my joy hath been fulfilled.He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.
John 3:30`Him it behoveth to increase, and me to become less;He must increase, but I must decrease. He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:31he who from above is coming is above all; he who is from the earth, from the earth he is, and from the earth he speaketh; he who from the heaven is coming is above all.He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the Earth belongs to the Earth, and speaks of the Earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
John 3:32`And what he hath seen and heard this he doth testify, and his testimony none receiveth;And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
John 3:33he who is receiving his testimony did seal that God is true;He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
John 3:34for he whom God sent, the sayings of God he speaketh; for not by measure doth God give the Spirit;For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
John 3:35the Father doth love the Son, and all things hath given into his hand;The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
John 3:36he who is believing in the Son, hath life age-during; and he who is not believing the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God doth remain upon him.`He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who disobeys the Son won't see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."
