1st-Peter 4:1Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, ye also with the same mind arm yourselves, because he who did suffer in the flesh hath done with sin,Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;Christ therefore having suffered in the flesh, be you also armed with the same thought: for he that hath suffered in the flesh, hath ceased from sins:
1st-Peter 4:2no more in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.That now he may live the rest of his time in the flesh , not after the desires of men, but according to the will of God.
1st-Peter 4:3for sufficient to us [is] the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.
1st-Peter 4:4in which they think it strange your not running with them to the same excess of dissoluteness, speaking evil,In which they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:Wherein they think it strange, that you run not with them into the same confusion of riotousness, speaking evil of you.
1st-Peter 4:5who shall give an account to Him who is ready to judge living and dead,Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.Who shall render account to him, who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1st-Peter 4:6for for this also to dead men was good news proclaimed, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, and may live according to God in the spirit.For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead: that they might be judged indeed according to men, in the flesh; but may live according to God, in the Spirit.
1st-Peter 4:7And of all things the end hath come nigh; be sober-minded, then, and watch unto the prayers,But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch to prayer.But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore, and watch in prayers.
1st-Peter 4:8and, before all things, to one another having the earnest love, because the love shall cover a multitude of sins;And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.But before all things have a constant mutual charity among yourselves: for charity covereth a multitude of sins.
1st-Peter 4:9hospitable to one another, without murmuring;Use hospitality one to another without grudging.Using hospitality one towards another, without murmuring,
1st-Peter 4:10each, according as he received a gift, to one another ministering it, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.As every man hath received grace, ministering the same one to another: as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1st-Peter 4:11if any one doth speak `as oracles of God;` if any one doth minister `as of the ability which God doth supply;` that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages. Amen.If any man speaketh let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any man minister, let him do it, as of the power, which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.
1st-Peter 4:12Beloved, think it not strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:Dearly beloved, think not strange the burning heat which is to try you, as if some new thing happened to you;
1st-Peter 4:13but, according as ye have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice ye, that also in the revelation of his glory ye may rejoice exulting;But rejoice, seeing ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.But if you partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice that when his glory shall be revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
1st-Peter 4:14if ye be reproached in the name of Christ happy [are ye], because the Spirit of glory and of God upon you doth rest; in regard, indeed, to them, he is evil-spoken of, and in regard to you, he is glorified;If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.If you be reproached for the name of Christ, you shall be blessed: for that which is of the honour, glory, and power of God, and that which is his Spirit, resteth upon you.
1st-Peter 4:15for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evil-doer, or as an inspector into other men`s matters;But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men's things.
1st-Peter 4:16and if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; and let him glorify God in this respect;Yet if any man suffereth as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
1st-Peter 4:17because it is the time of the beginning of the judgment from the house of God, and if first from us, what the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first beginneth at us, what will be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?
1st-Peter 4:18And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, the ungodly and sinner where shall he appear?And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?And if the just man shall scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1st-Peter 4:19so that also those suffering according to the will of god, as to a stedfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in good doing.Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls to him in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God, commend their souls in good deeds to the faithful Creator.
