Luke 21:1And having looked up, he saw those who did cast their gifts to the treasury rich men,Looking up He saw the people throwing their gifts into the Treasury the rich people.And he looked up, and saw the rich men that were casting their gifts into the treasury.
Luke 21:2and he saw also a certain poor widow casting there two mites,He also saw a poor widow dropping in two farthings,And he saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
Luke 21:3and he said, `Truly I say to you, that this poor widow did cast in more than all;and He said, "In truth I tell you that this widow, so poor, has thrown in more than any of them.And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than they all:
Luke 21:4for all these out of their superabundance did cast into the gifts to God, but this one out of her want, all the living that she had, did cast in.`For from what they could well spare they have all of them contributed to the offerings, but she in her need has thrown in all she had to live on."for all these did of their superfluity cast in unto the gifts; but she of her want did cast in all the living that she had.
Luke 21:5And certain saying about the temple, that with goodly stones and devoted things it hath been adorned, he said,When some were remarking about the Temple, how it was embellished with beautiful stones and dedicated gifts, He said,And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and offerings, he said,
Luke 21:6`These things that ye behold days will come, in which there shall not be left a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.`"As to these things which you now admire, the time is coming when there will not be one stone left here upon another which will not be pulled down."As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Luke 21:7And they questioned him, saying, `Teacher, when, then, shall these things be? and what [is] the sign when these things may be about to happen?`"Rabbi, when will this be?" they asked Him, "and what will be the token given when these things are about to take place?"And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when therefore shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when these things are about to come to pass?
Luke 21:8And he said, `See ye may not be led astray, for many shall come in my name, saying I am [he], and the time hath come nigh; go not on then after them;"See to it," He replied, "that you are not misled; for many will come assuming my name and professing, `I am He,' or saying, `The time is close at hand.' Do not go and follow them.And he said, Take heed that ye be not led astray: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am [he]; and, The time is at hand: go ye not after them.
Luke 21:9and when ye may hear of wars and uprisings, be not terrified, for it behoveth these things to happen first, but the end [is] not immediately.`But when you hear of wars and turmoils, be not afraid; for these things must happen first, but the end does not come immediately."And when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must needs come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.
Luke 21:10Then said he to them, `Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,Then He said to them, "Nation will rise in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;
Luke 21:11great shakings also in every place, and famines, and pestilences, there shall be; fearful things also, and great signs from heaven there shall be;And there will be great earthquakes, and in places famines and pestilence; and there will be terrible sights and wonderful tokens from Heaven.and there shall be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there shall be terrors and great signs from heaven.
Luke 21:12and before all these, they shall lay on you their hands, and persecute, delivering up to synagogues and prisons, being brought before kings and governors for my name`s sake;"But before all these things happen they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you up to synagogues and to prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my sake.But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and shall persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.
Luke 21:13and it shall become to you for a testimony.In the end all this will be evidence of your fidelity.It shall turn out unto you for a testimony.
Luke 21:14`Settle, then, to your hearts, not to meditate beforehand to reply,"Make up your minds, however, not to prepare a defence beforehand,Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer:
Luke 21:15for I will give to you a mouth and wisdom that all your opposers shall not be able to refute or resist.for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to withstand or reply to.for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.
Luke 21:16`And ye shall be delivered up also by parents, and brothers, and kindred, and friends, and they shall put of you to death;You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, friends; and some of you they will put to death.But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and [some] of you shall they cause to be put to death.
Luke 21:17and ye shall be hated by all because of my nameYou will be the objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name;And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Luke 21:18and a hair out of your head shall not perish;and yet not a hair of your heads shall perish.And not a hair of your head shall perish.
Luke 21:19in your patience possess ye your souls.By your patient endurance you will purchase your lives.In your patience ye shall win your souls.
Luke 21:20`And when ye may see Jerusalem surrounded by encampments, then know that come nigh did her desolation;"But when you see Jerusalem with armies encamping round her on every side, then be certain that her overthrow is close at hand.But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.
Luke 21:21then those in Judea, let them flee to the mountains; and those in her midst, let them depart out; and those in the countries, let them not come in to her;Then let those who shall be in Judaea escape to the hills; let those who are in the city leave it, and those who are in the country not enter in.Then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of her depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter therein.
Luke 21:22because these are days of vengeance, to fulfil all things that have been written.For those are the days of vengeance and of fulfilling all that is written.For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luke 21:23`And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck, in those days; for there shall be great distress on the land, and wrath on this people;"Alas for the women who at that time are with child or who have infants; for there will be great distress in the land, and anger towards this People.Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people.
Luke 21:24and they shall fall by the mouth of the sword, and shall be led captive to all the nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by nations, till the times of nations be fulfilled.They will fall by the sword, or be carried off into slavery among all the Gentiles. And Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles, till the appointed times of the Gentiles have expired.And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Luke 21:25`And there shall be signs in sun, and moon, and stars, and on the land [is] distress of nations with perplexity, sea and billow roaring;"There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on earth anguish among the nations in their bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its billows;And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;
Luke 21:26men fainting at heart from fear, and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.while men's hearts are fainting for fear, and for anxious expectation of what is coming on the world. For the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Luke 21:27`And then they shall see the Son of Man, coming in a cloud, with power and much glory;And then will they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory.And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:28and these things beginning to happen bend yourselves back, and lift up your heads, because your redemption doth draw nigh.`But when all this is beginning to take place, grieve no longer. Lift up your heads, because your deliverance is drawing near."But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21:29And he spake a simile to them: `See the fig-tree, and all the trees,And He spoke a parable to them. "See," He said, "the fig-tree and all the trees.And he spake to them a parable: Behold the fig tree, and all the trees:
Luke 21:30when they may now cast forth, having seen, of yourselves ye know that now is the summer nigh;As soon as they have shot out their leaves, you know at a glance that summer is now near.when they now shoot forth, ye see it and know of your own selves that the summer is now nigh.
Luke 21:31so also ye, when ye may see these things happening, ye know that near is the reign of God;So also, when you see these things happening, you may be sure that the Kingdom of God is near.Even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh.
Luke 21:32verily I say to you This generation may not pass away till all may have come to pass;I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished.
Luke 21:33the heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words may not pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Luke 21:34`And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts may be weighed down with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day may come on you,"But take heed to yourselves, lest your souls be weighed down with self-indulgence and drunkenness or the anxieties of this life, and that day come upon you, suddenly, like a falling trap;But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare:
Luke 21:35for as a snare it shall come on all those dwelling on the face of all the land,for it will come on all dwellers on the face of the whole earth.for [so] shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth.
Luke 21:36watch ye, then, in every season, praying that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.`But beware of slumbering; and every moment pray that you may be fully strengthened to escape from all these coming evils, and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man."But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:37And he was during the days in the temple teaching, and during the nights, going forth, he was lodging at the mount called of Olives;His habit at this time was to teach in the Temple by day, but to go out and spend the night on the Mount called the Oliveyard.And every day he was teaching in the temple; and every night he went out, and lodged in the mount that is called Olivet.
Luke 21:38and all the people were coming early unto him in the temple to hear him.And all the people came to Him in the Temple, early in the morning, to listen to Him.And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.
