| Romans 14:1 | And him who is weak in the faith receive ye not to determinations of reasonings; | I now pass to another subject. Receive as a friend a man whose faith is weak, but not for the purpose of deciding mere matters of opinion. | Now him that is weak in the faith receive, not to [the] determining of questions of reasoning. |
| Romans 14:2 | one doth believe that he may eat all things and he who is weak doth eat herbs; | One man's faith allows him to eat anything, while a man of weaker faith eats nothing but vegetables. | One man is assured that he may eat all things; but the weak eats herbs. |
| Romans 14:3 | let not him who is eating despise him who is not eating: and let not him who is not eating judge him who is eating, for God did receive him. | Let not him who eats certain food look down upon him who abstains from it, nor him who abstains from it find fault with him who eats it; for God has received both of them. | Let not him that eats make little of him that eats not; and let not him that eats not judge him that eats: for God has received him. |

| Romans 14:15 | and if through victuals thy brother is grieved, no more dost thou walk according to love; do not with thy victuals destroy that one for whom Christ died. | If your brother is pained by the food you are eating, your conduct is no longer controlled by love. Take care lest, by the food you eat, you lead to ruin a man for whom Christ died. | For if on account of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer according to love. Destroy not him with thy meat for whom Christ has died. |

All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil to that man who eats while stumbling [in doing so]. |
