| Matthew 28:1 | And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre, | After the Sabbath, in the early dawn of the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Mary came to see the sepulchre. | And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre. |
| Matthew 28:2 | and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it, | But to their amazement there had been a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord had descended from Heaven, and had come and rolled back the stone, and was sitting upon it. | And behold there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and coming, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. |

| Matthew 28:13 | saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him we being asleep; | telling them to say, "His disciples came during the night and stole his body while we were asleep." | Saying: Say you, His disciples came by night, and stole him away when we were asleep. |
| Matthew 28:14 | and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.` | "And if this," they added, "is reported to the Governor, we will satisfy him and screen you from punishment." | And if the governor shall hear this, we will persuade him, and secure you. |
