Romans 8:1There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit; There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus; There is now therefore no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh.
Romans 8:2for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;for the Spirit's Law telling of Life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the Law that deals only with sin and death. For the law of the spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath delivered me from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 8:3for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,For what was impossible to the Law powerless as it was because it acted through frail humanity God effected. Sending His own Son in a body like that of sinful human nature and as a sacrifice for sin, He pronounced sentence upon sin in human nature;For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh; God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh and of sin, hath condemned sin in the flesh;
Romans 8:4that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.in order that in our case the requirements of the Law might be fully met. For our lives are regulated not by our earthly, but by our spiritual natures. That the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
Romans 8:5For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit; For if men are controlled by their earthly natures, they give their minds to earthly things. If they are controlled by their spiritual natures, they give their minds to spiritual things. For they that are according to the flesh, mind the things that are of the flesh; but they that are according to the spirit, mind the things that are of the spirit.
Romans 8:6for the mind of the flesh [is] death, and the mind of the Spirit life and peace;Because for the mind to be given up to earthly things means death; but for it to be given up to spiritual things means Life and peace. For the wisdom of the flesh is death; but the wisdom of the spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:7because the mind of the flesh [is] enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,Abandonment to earthly things is a state of enmity to God. Such a mind does not submit to God's Law, and indeed cannot do so.Because the wisdom of the flesh is an enemy to God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can it be.
Romans 8:8for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.And those whose hearts are absorbed in earthly things cannot please God.And they who are in the flesh, cannot please God.
Romans 8:9And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ this one is not His;You, however, are not devoted to earthly, but to spiritual things, if the Spirit of God is really dwelling in you; whereas if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, such a one does not belong to Him.But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Romans 8:10and if Christ [is] in you, the body, indeed, [is] dead because of sin, and the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness,But if Christ is in you, though your body must die because of sin, yet your spirit has Life because of righteousness. And if Christ be in you, the body indeed is dead, because of sin; but the spirit liveth, because of justification.
Romans 8:11and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.And if the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus from the dead is dwelling in you, He who raised up Christ from the dead will give Life also to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who dwells in you.And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Jesus Christ from the dead, shall quicken also your mortal bodies, because of his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 8:12So, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh; Therefore, brethren, it is not to our lower natures that we are under obligation that we should live by their rule. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
Romans 8:13for if according to the flesh ye do live, ye are about to die; and if, by the Spirit, the deeds of the body ye put to death, ye shall live; For if you so live, death is near; but if, through being under the sway of the spirit, you are putting your old bodily habits to death, you will live. For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die: but if by the Spirit you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
Romans 8:14for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God;For those who are led by God's Spirit are, all of them, God's sons. For whosoever are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8:15for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, `Abba Father.`You have not for the second time acquired the consciousness of being a consciousness which fills you with terror. But you have acquired a deep inward conviction of having been adopted as sons a conviction which prompts us to cry aloud, "Abba! our Father!"For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear; but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father).
Romans 8:16The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;The Spirit Himself bears witness, along with our own spirits, to the fact that we are children of God;For the Spirit himself giveth testimony to our spirit, that we are the sons of God.
Romans 8:17and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.and if children, then heirs too heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ; if indeed we are sharers in Christ's sufferings, in order that we may also be sharers in His glory. And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.
Romans 8:18For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory about to be revealed in us;Why, what we now suffer I count as nothing in comparison with the glory which is soon to be manifested in us.For I reckon that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come, that shall be revealed in us.
Romans 8:19for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God;For all creation, gazing eagerly as if with outstretched neck, is waiting and longing to see the manifestation of the sons of God.For the expectation of the creature waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:20for to vanity was the creation made subject not of its will, but because of Him who did subject [it] in hope,For the Creation fell into subjection to failure and unreality (not of its own choice, but by the will of Him who so subjected it).For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him that made it subject, in hope:
Romans 8:21that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;Yet there was always the hope that at last the Creation itself would also be set free from the thraldom of decay so as to enjoy the liberty that will attend the glory of the children of God.Because the creature also itself shall be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:22for we have known that all the creation doth groan together, and doth travail in pain together till now.For we know that the whole of Creation is groaning together in the pains of childbirth until this hour. For we know that every creature groaneth and travaileth in pain, even till now.
Romans 8:23And not only [so], but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting the redemption of our body; And more than that, we ourselves, though we possess the Spirit as a foretaste and pledge of the glorious future, yet we ourselves inwardly sigh, as we wait and long for open recognition as sons through the deliverance of our bodies. And not only it, but ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption of the sons of God, the redemption of our body.
Romans 8:24for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for [it]?It is *in hope* that we have been saved. But an object of hope is such no longer when it is present to view; for when a man has a thing before his eyes, how can he be said to hope for it?For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen, is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doth he hope for?
Romans 8:25and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect [it].But if we hope for something which we do not see, then we eagerly and patiently wait for it.But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 8:26And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth [us], we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable,In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; for we do not know what prayers to offer nor in what way to offer them. But the Spirit Himself pleads for us in yearnings that can find no words,Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity. For we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit himself asketh for us with unspeakable groanings.
Romans 8:27and He who is searching the hearts hath known what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.and the Searcher of hearts knows what the Spirit's meaning is, because His intercessions for God's people are in harmony with God's will. And he that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what the Spirit desireth; because he asketh for the saints according to God.
Romans 8:28And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose; Now we know that for those who love God all things are working together for good for those, I mean, whom with deliberate purpose He has called. And we know that to them that love God, all things work together unto good, to such as, according to his purpose, are called to be saints.
Romans 8:29because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren; For those whom He has known beforehand He has also pre-destined to bear the likeness of His Son, that He might be the Eldest in a vast family of brothers; For whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be made conformable to the image of his Son; that he might be the firstborn amongst many brethren.
Romans 8:30and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.and those whom He has pre-destined He also has called; and those whom He has called He has also declared free from guilt; and those whom He has declared free from guilt He has also crowned with glory. And whom he predestinated, them he also called. And whom he called, them he also justified. And whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8:31What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God [is] for us, who [is] against us?What then shall we say to this? If God is on our side, who is there to appear against us?What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who is against us?
Romans 8:32He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us?He who did not withhold even His own Son, but gave Him up for all of us, will He not also with Him freely give us all things? He that spared not even his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how hath he not also, with him, given us all things?
Romans 8:33Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God [is] He that is declaring righteous,Who shall impeach those whom God has chosen? God declares them free from guilt.Who shall accuse against the elect of God? God that justifieth.
Romans 8:34who [is] he that is condemning? Christ [is] He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God who also doth intercede for us.Who is there to condemn them? Christ Jesus died, or rather has risen to life again. He is also at the right hand of God, and is interceding for us.Who is he that shall condemn? Christ Jesus that died, yea that is risen also again; who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Romans 8:35Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Who shall separate us from Christ's love? Shall affliction or distress, persecution or hunger, nakedness or danger or the sword?Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword?
Romans 8:36(according as it hath been written `For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,`)As it stands written in the Scripture, "For Thy sake they are, all day long, trying to kill us. We have been looked upon as sheep destined for slaughter."(As it is written: For thy sake we are put to death all the day long. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)
Romans 8:37but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us;Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who has loved us.But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.
Romans 8:38for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor messengers, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither the lower ranks of evil angels nor the higher, neither things present nor things future, nor the forces of nature,For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,
Romans 8:39nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of god, that [is] in Christ Jesus our Lord.nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God which rests upon us in Christ Jesus our Lord.Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
