Matthew 24:1And having gone forth, Jesus departed from the temple, and his disciples came near to show him the buildings of the temple,Jesus had left the Temple and was going on His way, when His disciples came and called His attention to the Temple buildings.And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
Matthew 24:2and Jesus said to them, `Do ye not see all these? verily I say to you, There may not be left here a stone upon a stone, that shall not be thrown down.`"You see all these?" He replied; "in solemn truth I tell you that there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be pulled down."And Jesus said to them, See ye not all these things? verily I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Matthew 24:3And when he is sitting on the mount of the Olives, the disciples came near to him by himself, saying, `Tell us, when shall these be? and what [is] the sign of thy presence, and of the full end of the age?`Afterwards He was on the Mount of Olives and was seated there when the disciples came to Him, apart from the others, and said, "Tell us when this will be; and what will be the sign of your Coming and of the Close of the Age?"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Matthew 24:4And Jesus answering said to them, `Take heed that no one may lead you astray,"Take care that no one misleads you," answered Jesus;And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Matthew 24:5for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and they shall lead many astray,"for many will come assuming my name and saying `I am the Christ;' and they will mislead many.For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and will deceive many.
Matthew 24:6and ye shall begin to hear of wars, and reports of wars; see, be not troubled, for it behoveth all [these] to come to pass, but the end is not yet.And before long you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Do not be alarmed, for such things must be; but the End is not yet.And ye will hear of wars, and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Matthew 24:7`For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places;For nation will rise in arms against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places;For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there will be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.
Matthew 24:8and all these [are] the beginning of sorrows;but all these miseries are but like the early pains of childbirth.All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:9then they shall deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated by all the nations because of my name;"At that time they will deliver you up to punishment and will put you to death; and you will be objects of hatred to all the nations because you are called by my name.Then will they deliver you up to be afflicted, and will kill you: and ye will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
Matthew 24:10and then shall many be stumbled, and they shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.Then will many stumble and fall, and they will betray one another and hate one another.And then will many be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Matthew 24:11`And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray;Many false prophets will rise up and lead multitudes astray;And many false prophets will rise, and will deceive many.
Matthew 24:12and because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love of the many shall become cold;and because of the prevalent disregard of God's law the love of the great majority will grow cold;And because iniquity will abound, the love of many will become cold.
Matthew 24:13but he who did endure to the end, he shall be saved;but those who stand firm to the End shall be saved.But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.
Matthew 24:14and this good news of the reign shall be proclaimed in all the world, for a testimony to all the nations; and then shall the end arrive.And this Good News of the Kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world to set the evidence before all the Gentiles; and then the End will come.And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a testimony to all nations; and then shall the end come.
Matthew 24:15`Whenever, therefore, ye may see the abomination of the desolation, that was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever is reading let him observe)"When you have seen (to use the language of the Prophet Daniel) the `Abomination of Desolation', standing in the Holy Place" let the reader observe those wordsWhen therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,)
Matthew 24:16then those in Judea let them flee to the mounts;"then let those who are in Judaea escape to the hills;Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains:
Matthew 24:17he on the house-top let him not come down to take up any thing out of his house;let him who is on the roof not go down to fetch what is in his house;Let him who is on the house-top not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Matthew 24:18and he in the field let him not turn back to take his garments.nor let him who is outside the city stay to pick up his outer garment.Neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Matthew 24:19`And wo to those with child, and to those giving suck in those days;And alas for the women who at that time are with child or have infants!And woe to them that are with child, and to them that nurse infants in those days!
Matthew 24:20and pray ye that your flight may not be in winter, nor on a sabbath;"But pray that your flight may not be in winter, nor on the Sabbath;But pray ye that your flight may not be in the winter, neither on the sabbath:
Matthew 24:21for there shall be then great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world till now, no, nor may be.for it will be a time of great suffering, such as never has been from the beginning of the world till now, and assuredly never will be again.For then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Matthew 24:22And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but because of the chosen, shall those days be shortened.And if those days had not been cut short, no one would escape; but for the sake of God's own People those days will be cut short.And except those days should be shortened, there would no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Matthew 24:23`Then if any one may say to you, Lo, here [is] the Christ! or here! ye may not believe;"If at that time any one should say to you, `See, here is the Christ!' or `Here!' give no credence to it.Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Matthew 24:24for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they shall give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, also the chosen.For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, displaying wonderful signs and prodigies, so as to deceive, were it possible, even God's own People.For false Christs will arise, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they would deceive the very elect.
Matthew 24:25Lo, I did tell you beforehand.Remember, I have forewarned you.Behold, I have told you before.
Matthew 24:26`If therefore they may say to you, Lo, in the wilderness he is, ye may not go forth; lo, in the inner chambers, ye may not believe;If therefore they should say to you, `See, He is in the Desert!' do not go out there: or `See, He is indoors in the room!' do not believe it.Wherefore, if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Matthew 24:27for as the lightning doth come forth from the east, and doth appear unto the west, so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man;For just as the lightning flashes in the east and is seen to the very west, so will be the Coming of the Son of Man.For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Matthew 24:28for wherever the carcase may be, there shall the eagles be gathered together.Wherever the dead body is, there will the vultures flock together.For wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be collected.
Matthew 24:29`And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken;"But immediately after those times of distress the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shed her light, the stars will fall from the firmament, and the forces which control the heavens will be disordered and disturbed.Immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Matthew 24:30and then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in the heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth smite the breast, and they shall see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of the heaven, with power and much glory;Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 24:31and he shall send his messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens unto the ends thereof.And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet-blast, and they will bring together His own People to Him from north, south, east and west from one extremity of the world to the other.And he will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 24:32`And from the fig-tree learn ye the simile: When already its branch may have become tender, and the leaves it may put forth, ye know that summer [is] nigh,"Now learn from the fig-tree the lesson it teaches. As soon as its branches have now become soft and it is bursting into leaf, you all know that summer is near.Now learn a parable of the fig-tree; When its branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Matthew 24:33so also ye, when ye may see all these, ye know that it is nigh at the doors.So you also, when you see all these signs, may be sure that He is near at your very door.So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Matthew 24:34Verily I say to you, this generation may not pass away till all these may come to pass.I tell you in solemn truth that the present generation will certainly not pass away without all these things having first taken place.Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things shall be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:35The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.Earth and sky will pass away, but it is certain that my words will not pass away.Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Matthew 24:36`And concerning that day and the hour no one hath known not even the messengers of the heavens except my Father only;"But as to that day and the exact time no one knows not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Matthew 24:37and as the days of Noah so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man;`For as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be at the Coming of the Son of Man.But as the days of Noah were, so will also the coming of the Son of man be.
Matthew 24:38for as they were, in the days before the flood, eating, and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, till the day Noah entered into the ark,At that time, before the Deluge, men were busy eating and drinking, taking wives or giving them, up to the very day when Noah entered the Ark,For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
Matthew 24:39and they did not know till the flood came and took all away; so shall be also the presence of the Son of Man.nor did they realise any danger till the Deluge came and swept them all away; so will it be at the Coming of the Son of Man.And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away: so also will be the coming of the Son of man.
Matthew 24:40Then two men shall be in the field, the one is received, and the one is left;Then will two men be in the open country: one will be taken away, and one left behind.Then will two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Matthew 24:41two women shall be grinding in the mill, one is received, and one is left.Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken away, and one left behind.Two women will be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Matthew 24:42`Watch ye therefore, because ye have not known in what hour your Lord doth come;Be on the alert therefore, for you do not know the day on which your Lord is coming.Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord cometh.
Matthew 24:43and this know, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief doth come, he had watched, and not suffered his house to be broken through;But of this be assured, that if the master of the house had known the hour at which the robber was coming, he would have kept awake, and not have allowed his house to be broken into.But know this, that if the master of the house knew in what watch the thief would come, he would watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken up.
Matthew 24:44because of this also ye, become ye ready, because in what hour ye do not think, the Son of Man doth come.Therefore you also must be ready; for it is at a time when you do not expect Him that the Son of Man will come.Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 24:45`Who, then, is the servant, faithful and wise, whom his lord did set over his household, to give them the nourishment in season?"Who therefore is the loyal and intelligent servant to whom his master has entrusted the control of his household to give them their rations at the appointed time?Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
Matthew 24:46Happy that servant, whom his lord, having come, shall find doing so;Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes shall find so doing!Blessed is that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.
Matthew 24:47verily I say to you, that over all his substance he will set him.In solemn truth I tell you that he will give him the management of all his wealth.Verily I say to you, that he will make him ruler over all his goods.
Matthew 24:48`And, if that evil servant may say in his heart, My Lord doth delay to come,But if the man, being a bad servant, should say in his heart, `My master is a long time in coming,'But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming;
Matthew 24:49and may begin to beat the fellow-servants, and to eat and to drink with the drunken,and should begin to beat his fellow servants, while he eats and drinks with drunkards;And shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
Matthew 24:50the lord of that servant will arrive in a day when he doth not expect, and in an hour of which he doth not know,the master of that servant will arrive on a day when he is not expecting him and at an hour of which he has not been informed;The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
Matthew 24:51and will cut him off, and his portion with the hypocrites will appoint; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.he will treat him with the utmost severity and assign him a place among the hypocrites: there will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.And will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
